While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I'd prolly either color the feathers a little more blue, make them transparent or remove them, to make it easier to focus on the middle... and I'd make the blue "shadow" of the text look more like a reflection in the water... and I'd make the text's outline look a little smother. Just my honest opinions...

The lines along his leg add a certain something, I'm glad you added it. The background is simple, personally I like lots of detail but this one is good; and I know a lot of people prefer less detail than me so not gonna argue with you there. The brushes are just about right, they add depth and character yet stays in the background and doesn't steal focus.
"If this was a normal 'my-first-wallpaper' I'd prolly have a lot of nasty things to say, but although my eyes wants to focus on the right part of your wall (despite my best attempts to not do it!) I can't fail to notice that you really did a Okey job on the background. Hell I can't think of anything bad at all to say about it, you somehow captured the essence and made everything fit together - despite the background and foreground being so different. I like it, despite red and yellow being the colors enjoy the least.
Only thing I would be able to say something about is the text, but even that part is not bad at all.

This was amongst the better walls I've ever seen! Probably partly because I adore this clean and smooth style. And it's blue. And it's a Fafner-piece... and it's right out friggin awesome! If you take everything that's good about this wallpaper and put them in a pot it would break, cuz they don't do pots that big~

I also have to point out that I love the effect you did with the 'transparent clothes' and let the heaven show through. "Alright where do I start? G friggin' G for starters. This rocks, I never finished Kaleido Star but one day I will, maybe then I'll fully comprehend what you wanted to show. Still I can't find anything to dislike about this wall, it all blends in nicely, the colors are simple yet far from boring or dull. The spheres around add a cool effect, I especially like how the ones near her head and hair look like tears (or that's how I interpret them) while the others look more like bubbles, and you can't really figure out where they change from one to the other.
You get a cookie for the effort, nice high resolution and concept/idea. And I don't give out those to just anyone. Keep doing things like this!
The vector feels mebbe just a little unsharp compared to the rest of the wallie, but meh doesn't really bother me. the sky and water though, and the colors really fit the theme. I didn't notice any problems with the clouds unless I look really closely - or mebbe I'm just tired.

I was vectoring that exact scene myself a day ago, I guess it's no mystery why you chose it. Uhm yes about the wallpaper, I give you full score for the beautiful vector. However (how do I say this without making more enemies around here?) I don't 'approve' of the background, but meh that's just me - everyone has their preferences and needs. It's not at all badly done though at all. The setting reminds me of Karin somehow, but then I guess that's elements you can find in any vampire anime/manga/film or whatever. Keep doing what you do Yukina~
