After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
"This one is simple yet incredible. I can tell you put a lot of work (and probably time :P) into it just by coloring it in starting with the black and white scan. Although you didn't control it, the angle of the scan and the placement of the sun rays are fantastic. Well done with coloring the sky and the birds as well!" View

"This one has a lot of emotion -- insane! The colors all around are very daunting and in a way fearful (at least for me, anyway). It makes for a great winter wallpaper, again like the other winter ones out there, the snow and feathers make it all the more amazing. Great scan and choice of colors you have chosen for your winter wallpaper! This one is a favorite." View

"Great job on redrawing the leg on Satsuki, it fits perfectly. I see no awkwardness with flipping her upside down, just so you know. In fact, I think it looks better. Although it's simple white with a few colored clothing, everything is easy on the eyes thanks to the soft colors and the snow everywhere. Again, nice work with the winter theme on this one, and I look forward to seeing more of your work." View

"Great wallpaper! I'm especially fond of the character extraction. I don't know if you did it or if it was done that way, but the edges look really smooth and well-trimmed. I like the snow flying in front of the character too -- makes it look like so he wasn't just slapped on there. Overall it looks very busy with all the snow, but it's not the bad kind of "busy," if you know what I mean. :P" View

"Great wallpaper! I personally like the choice of color you have going, it isn't too dark, nor too light, it's rather mild. Best of all, they all come together create one universal, large picture, due to the strict flow of colors into one element to the other. Good job on the coloring!" View

"I love it -- the angel wings really say something about the feeling of this wallpaper. The celestial composition is great too, I really love nebulas, especially if they're done well. ;) It has a good choice of dark colors to depict the night, and good use of a few feathers to avoid disrupting the picture. Overall, I really like this one, even though it's just a "side" wallpaper. I am adding this one into my favorites!" View

"Great and simple vector. Making the characters completely black just adds to the stylish mood of the wallpaper, awesome. It's something you'd see on a contemporary billboard or an ad. Nice work! I can't vector worth crap for the time being, so you are making me quite envious right now. :P" View

"This reminds me a lot about Apple's iPod ads... I wonder why... hmm hmm. :) Okay, seriously, I think it does look quite simple, despite the texture in the background and various scattered objects. The color choice isn't so bad -- I don't usually like red, but in this case it looks well-used. It looks fantastic, overall, if you ask me." View

"Why do I keep thinking it's more of a professional photograph than an artistically-drawn wallpaper? Because it's that good. :)
xerodante
i tilted the stockphoto to make it more dramatic. and the buildings are manually made be selection tools. and also i tried to blend grave to the bg because he's a little redish from the original scan.
Your tilting technique is awesome and adds tons of drama to it, despite it being an anime wallpaper. The stock photo fits the scan, composition, tilting, and texturing nicely to produce a near-realistic wallpaper that mimics that of a dramatic picture. Well done... this one's a favorite of mine!" "The color does indeed match the mood you are trying to achieve. At first glance it reminds me about autumn, but it's fit to be a theme for "memories" as well. You blended in the characters really nicely and colored it up from dull grayscale to something magnificient, awesome job. :)" View

"Really awesome! It's nice to see somebody pursuing a theme as different as a fantasy theme. Good work on drawing the background yourself, working from scratch is rather difficult, especially when trying to create something dramatic and majestic as a castle surrounded by clouds and other flying entities. The looks like it turned out nice for you, and the picture captures a moment of being high in the sky flying. Again, good work!" View

"The girls remind me of little chibi characters. :P It looks really simple but it gives off a warm mood (no pun intended). It makes for a nice winter desktop, and I really like the effort you put into displacing the little snowflakes all around, blurring it and sharpening here and there to give a sense of 3 dimensions. It's quite cute to look at. :)" View

"There are many celestial wallpapers in the Ah! My Goddess gallery like this one, but since this is your first wallpaper, it's really impressive for a first time! You're on your way to making better wallpapers, soon, if you choose to. One thing though is that I don't really see the need for the white grains that dot Belldandy, it makes it look like she was extracted and touched up in a poor manner. Good work, though." View

"I like the moon and shadow contrasting effect. I always like these kinds of wallpapers that cover character in a shroud of mystery because of the dark, shadowy environment. The text could have been more intuitive with the wallpaper, but you did a good job on creating the overall mood nonetheless. It looks smooth, fine, and well done. I'm adding this one to my favorites! :D" View

"Oooh, the blowing leaves are great. It creates a feeling that wind is blowing all around! You've made a great improvement to it compared to your first draft posted in Session Zero. Sorry that I couldn't offer any advice in your SZ thread since all of my suggestions were already said. But like I said, this is definitely much better than the one with the ugly vertical lines. The coloring creates a dark mood as if somebody is wandering in the rain (which is a mood I often like). Well done. :)" View

"Fantastic! This may inspire some people to create some more wallpapers to add to the new category. The placement of the elements are done very well when I set it as my desktop background. It creates a real nice, dark, but relaxing atmosphere for my computer environment. It looks so simple with just a mountain and the moon, but thanks to the castle on the right, it looks like something's going on, wanting attention. :P
The smudge effects are nice too, I think you did well in capturing the watercoloring technique." View

"It's overall well done! I'll admit it's a bit "busy" in contrast to my desktop icons when I try to use it as my desktop background, but it works nicely. Great choice of colors and determination of their intensity levels, I think they were done just right. The text looks unnecessarily blurred, though, but it isn't a big deal since the blur effect is minimal. Good scan too." View

"It seems a bit creepy, but it looks like you were able to achieve what you wanted to do as a tabletop wallpaper. If the dark corners weren't there, the mood would have been entirely different. It sure is better than lying in plain snow with a blood splash, though. It's a tad bit too dark, but it's nice overall for those dark-themed desktops, so nice work!" View

I think you did a fine job with the choice of text styling, effects, and the texturing of the stock photo background and characters. "The earthly glow effect on his sword is well done. Although there are many wallpapers with the green grass and blue sky scheme around AP, this one doesn't have a blue sky, but instead, a bright white one. I don't know if you intended it or not, but it represents much like a Japanese sky color that's often used in paintings and pictures. It's simplistic and clean at most, which I think is good when it comes to trying to actually setting it as a desktop background and contrasting it against the desktop icons. Good work on it! :)" View

"Actually, the blur on the character isn't so bad. It contributes, methinks, to the cloudy illusion made by the wallpaper overall. If the character was sharpened or at its best quality, it would stand out too much... but that's just me. I like the jet streams you have created that swirl around the character, it makes the character feel mystical. This wallpaper is nicely done, good work. B)" View
