Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Stella and I love cheerful walls. So nice. I've been really enjoying the softer feel of your walls lately. The textures have grown a lot since I joined . . . how many years ago?

"Wow! You OWN that color, Beckor? That's awesome! (he he)

Anyway, I like this paper. It's got good character placement (as usual) and the texturing of the gears is awesome. I notice that you've been doing some minimal backgrounds lately, and I have to say that I appreciate the extra care you put into this one with regards to the blending and the artistic choice of the blank white corner. It's gives me a place to put all my buttons without ruining the great artwork!

I'll fav this one, sir. I'm gonna replace your last wall with this one. I guess if it had to be something, eh?

Now THAT's a good effect. You brought back the black! XD
In all seriousness, this paper is great! I love the text effect, the subject placement, and the flame effects. Not too much business, and just right for my personal BG, so adding it to the favorites. Well done, sir! Very clean!

Well, I think the effect looks nice, personally. The craqueluer effect on the background looks quite nice with the ancient-painting style effects going on. The color washing is an effective technique on the subject, and the 2/3 positioning is very nice. The only distracting aspect for me is that my eye wants to follow his arms, which leads me off the wall. That's not a very big deal, and can easily be described as an artistic choice and attention effect. I've seen lots of great papers that use that technique.

Well done, sir. I will use this as my background, and so . . . add it to my favorites.

"*pushes his glasses up and sighs*

Reminds me of my old friend Phamathua. She used to put these pretty Shoujo papers up all the time and make my wife happy.
My question is: why the night scene? It looks great, don't get me wrong, but she looks so happy and the lonely night scene sorta makes her feel out of place. The fact that she is centered and the glow on the fence make me feel like she's an alien about to steal my brain or something. 0_o
Still, great work! Obviously the work of someone who cares, and I appreciate it!

Fine paper! The reflective effect is very nice. It's an artsy type paper, which I really like. If I had to name a beef, it's the geometric pattern for the window. It just looks too neat and clean against the spooky nature of everything else. Some beef that is. It looks great, and I will add it to my favorites. Thanks for your hard work!

Flawless vector. I can't see a single smudge. I love it. I am using this for my wallpaper, therefore, I will add it to my favorites. It kinda reminds me of the Bitter:Sweet album cover (colors and organic stamps).
Thanks for the great wall! I will enjoy it very much!

Yay! Yuki! Great wall!

I think you did a good job with the layering and the effects are creepy and look great. The barbed wire and butterflies thing is an awesome contrast. The subject is so blank and soulless looking, and the image has a great darkness.
If I had to suggest anything, it would be that you might add a texture in the BG, like a stock CG image in a very, very dark red (like elfe-noire's Jikogu paper from last month). Not to say yours isn't a great first paper, just making a suggestion to help you get a "AA" rating on the next one. Thanks for your hard work!
Congratulations!

I do love to see a Battle Angel wall, and this one is super.
If I had to complain (and I do not) I would have to say that the line up of the eyes is slightly skewed (*takes out his laser level and feels shame*).
Regardless, lovely wall! Welcome to AP and thank you so much for your contribution. I am going to go commit honorable seppuku again.

"I think I like this one a little more than the others. Call me a sucker for the organic feel. My eye is drawn instantly off the left side, and I caught myself wanting to see the rest of the image. Super framing work.
Your vision is great here, and I'm really impressed with your brush work. I could not hope to duplicate that kind of sensitivity. Well done. I will definitely be using this one for my desktop. And when I use it for my desktop, it gets a fav. Them's the rules.

The city is mine

Nice light work. I like the way the BG looks, and the character is nice and 2/3 framed. I don't know if the two match up so well. Kinda like peanut butter and mayonnaise. Both are good, but not so good together. Your effort produced a great product, so I'm not coming down on it by any means. Seems like a more futuristic city view or a more techno look to the building would match the metal wing thingies make more sense.
Pretty, though. Good feel and good colors. Thanks for the great wall!

I can find nothing wrong with this. It is beautiful work. You are a very talented artist. I love the snail's slime trail, and the way the shadows are all uniform and obviously thought out. I wonder if you used a model for this, or if it is all mental imagery.
At any rate, this is one of those papers that I really can't fault. Top notch.

Crimson Orchestra Gear Solid

"This is utterly hilarious. I doubt anyone how isn't familiar with the battleground would get the whole thing, but this is really cool, Beckor. AND it's a darn fine paper! The subject is well-seated in the right 2/3, and the text in the back is awesome and painstakingly printed. The grungified brush work on the symbol and the lower right draws the eye nicely over all the business, and it's a great effect.
Only thing that could make it more funny, if not "better" would be the possibly addition of a more "communistic" (as you say) font. I've seen some good Russian lettering font sets out there, and that would just crack me up with the very Russian feel Metal Gear has (IMO), as well as driving home the tounge-in-cheek comparison between CO and CCCP. XD

Thanks for brightening my day! It was awesome to see!

"Another Aria paper. So nice to see!
I have to say, for my part, that I do not like this one as much as the last, due to the retina-burning whiteness. As I mentioned earlier, my eyes have been abused by the screen for too long or something. I can see the BG effects on the left, but I kinda have to squint against the whiteness. It almost washes her face and the lower part of her body out, as well.
However, bright tone notwithstanding, I love the work. It's a beautiful BG and you placed it well. The text is just as understated and nice as the last one. I just miss the softness of the darker tone, is all.

Thanks, Koi! Keep those Aria papers comin'!

Oh, man. I have really been wanting to see this show, and this is whetting my appetite! The colors are almost . . . dare I say . . . Christmas-y. I love hidden text tricks, since it gives the eye something to linger on and concentrate on in what would ordinarily be just a swishy background.
The foreground text placement is nice and the character work is great! Well done, sir!

For King and Country

"Hmm. I like it. The perspective is very nice. I especially like the positioning of the birds coming from behind the subjects. The artwork on the scan is nice, but your layering makes it look much better with the colors of the BG. The streaks in the hair of the girl on the left bother me a bit. I think it's because the sunshine is so clear and free of that effect that it makes it look a little hokey to me. The text is a little meh and tough to read, but I don't judge the text on papers as far as the overall image. You can only control letters so much.
Those two tiny problems aside, I think this one will look nice on my userpage as the newest favorite. Thanks for your hard work, sir! I look forward to seeing more.
Incidentally, I am very partial to this res, since it fits my MacBook perfectly . . . *downloads*

Oh, how lovely, Koi. Very, very nicely done. Both my wife and I enjoy Aria very much, for it's innocence and the simple beauty of the artwork. This is a gorgeous little wall that I think brings out both of those aspects wonderfully. The soft textures really bring out the peaceful feel of the wall and it's quite easy on the eyes. Thank you for your work on this one. I will add it to my favorites.
Take care!

Nice texturing! I like a lot! The text made me squint a little bit, but you never complain about the way those stupid little letter things on a cake taste, so I hardly ever complain about text.
Great work on those textures, and nice choice of a soft, pleasing color scheme. Thanks for the hard work!

"Heh. Chibi Haruhi.
The BG is pretty nice, but the characters look a little jaggy on the full view. That might be an extraction thing. If you could figure out a way to clean that up, the finished product would look a little better.
Thanks for the effort, though! It certainly brought a smile to my face!

Nice set up for this wall. I've seen this scan used before, but the background is better on this version. You might have blurred her a bit much, as I find my eyes straining on the cans and her features as opposed to the quite crisp BG. You did nice work, though. I look forward to your improvements in the future! If this wasn't good enough for AP, someone would've let you know! XD
