"I love this wallpaper for it's simplicity. but the problem is in the concept itself, it's hard for a simple wallpaper to be accepted to the gallery. unless has something special inside of it, maybe a flawless vector and great composition of colors. it might be weird, but personally i love the vector what akiranyo said ugly. i think the outlines just jaggy and not blended well with the background, you can zoom it in to view the flaw. here are some showcased wallpapers in your styles as an examples for you:

"The background, the sign, and the letters just way too sharp compared to the hachiroku itself. and i think you picked a bad color composition too. if you need a sharp image of the car, you can get a lot of them on the net. it's a legendary car for automotive enthusiast, try toyota sprinter trueno or simply ae86 as the keyword, and pick one as your base image. or you can pick an image from the manga scans, it would be way easier if you want to vector it.

"I guess the characters looks like they not really standing under the cloud opening. it's not about the light effect, it's about the position. zoom in your wallpaper and look carefully, i hope you'll find out what i mean. there are two things that you can do to deal with this problem. first, scale down the characters, which i will not recommend this to you. and the second is move the background layer upward, it is gonna be a dilemma cos it means you have to indirectly crop the circular opening.


minor issues that you need to handle are the way of the guy on the right standings. you need to make him standing perfectly (take a look at his torso and his legs), and separate his head (and his hair) with his body to make his face gaze upward to the opening. or the simple way, use the free transform tool to bend his waist. and the last one is, i think you need to move the cloudy sky a little bit to the right to make the position more balance.

"I'm not pretty good at giving technical opinion. so i'm going to give my opinion about your concept. calendar wallpaper are pretty nice idea, you got one point from that. cos, it's quite hard to find a calendar wallpapers in this site (calendar wallpapers, not calendar scans). but the problem came out from the nice concept itself, have you ever realize that your wallpaper wont last for more than a month? let's say, even if i love your wallpaper so much, i'll feel pretty odd if i'm using your wallpaper as my desktop background when december has already passed. what do you think about that?

WUXGA - 1920x1200 (in means, your wallpaper width is -20 px) so, at least you crop that first to meet another accepted resolutions. probably WSXGA+ - 1680x1050.
