After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!
"Sad... I haven't even watched Clannad, but this wallpaper is so beautiful it makes me want to watch the series. The flowing hair, the light from the window, her expression, everything seems so right. It's amazing to see how much detail you've added from a simple low detailed screen cap.
"This kind of wallpaper is very taste-dependent, in any case here's what I think (I usually like this kind of walls actually).
The paper background is nicely done, the colouring, the "worn out" effect, it feels right. The character image on the left is also nice blended in, don't think you'd need to do anything more there. 2 things that I would have done (feel free to ignore these, it's probably just my preference more than anything):
-The poem, the characters don't fit in well in this beautiful image... I am not sure why, I think it's probably the thickness of the characters are too thin, either that or it is still too sharp, I know a lot of effects have been put to make them look all, but they still look too clear to fit with the worn out scroll... You might just want to play around with the characters more, maybe make them thicker and have a blurrier edge.
-Another preference, but I don't think it's necessary to put so many random signatures (chops) at the bottom right corner of the image (especially if you understand them, why would you have a President Mao's signature at the bottom ><). I'd clean them all, maybe just keep the tokyo tosho signature, and put 1 more signature for the author of the poem (and since you wrote the poem, just make a nice signature chop of your own : ) )
I like the concept, and the hard parts are all pretty much done, so I think if you are able to fix the characters and blend it in even better, it'd make a beautiful worn out chinese ink paint style scroll." View

"Hm well seems like you've made it available in a much higher resolution, that's good. Everything seems alright now... You've cleaned the badly extracted outlines but it seems like you've cleaned too much and some of black outlines are removed accidentally (hat, hair, and her left arm). Ultimately... like others who mentioned, I really think you might just want to vector Vita (thats the character's name right?), it would make the wallpaper look a whole lot nicer.
And the bottom skirt part is still kinda weird..." View

"Okay I am no expert, but this is what I think:
1. The Saber extraction needs some more work to be done. More specifically, look at the outline outer edge, you didn't extract it clean enough so there's some trailing yellow dots attached on the outline.
2. The scan isn't perfect, well no scans are perfect, you'd need to clean the colour more, as for now, you can see some parts, the colour is grainy (there's noise), and at the bottom part of her skirt (with the sword), there's some defect that looks like some horizontal square. You should fix that.
3. The blue background is quite nice, not sure what's the big circle thing behind, probably the summon circle? But it's still pretty cool and kinda fits, but the words "Servant Saber, the King of Knights", in my opinion doesn't blend quite well in, maybe it's the font, I am not too sure, but that's just my preference.
4. The scan is good, but I still think it would be the best to vector the Saber >< Again this is totally just my taste.
Some cleaning up work are definitely needed for now, but the concept looks alright. Keep it up!" View

From the look of the kenshin's vector, maybe it's the colouring, it looks kind 3d'ish, I am pretty sure heaps of people love them. It must have taken quite some effort and the wallpaper is pretty good... but somehow it's just not my kind of taste, probably because of the realism of the wallpaper.

I like the idea of using text to make pictures (part of the reason why I like ASCCI/Shift JIS art I guess), but two things went wrong here:
-Those words aren't katakana, more accurately they are kanji (chinese letters). Nothing wrong using chinese letters as the elements to construct the background, but mirroring them is a bad, bad, bad idea, well at least for those who can read them. Imagine if they are english alphabets, and you mirror them, everyone would find the mirror'd ones really weird/out of place.
-This is just my preference, totally just my preference, but I definitely prefer to have either the character light up/light off to construct the image, I just find that partial light up is kinda... erm unfair.

For the hair, yea I am a bit unsatisfied myself but I couldn't find or think of any ways to get it feel right... Maybe I should have scrapped the first colouring I did initially, but ah well. As for her right hand colour hm yea I see what you mean now, the colour difference is a bit too big, even though there's light on her left hand. And I just learned how to use layer masking to make glowing parts and how to use brush to make customized glowing shapes ^^, the one I used in this wall is just simple outer glow so it gives the stiff look you mentioned.
For this wall, I didn't try to do anything myself (not an experienced drawer, so I am not sure if I can draw things that look right), which is why I followed almost everything that the original scan has, so that leaves no space for creativity, but I'll try harder next time... Hopefully there'll be a next time ><." View
