While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
"The background text does support the theme well, but personally i would like to see more 'perspective' added by making the text get smaller and smaller as it goes farther down the page. Also, the man looks like he's been stuck in a oven and melted lol. I'm guessing that the scan for the man wasn't so nice to you.

"Lovely painting. One niggly little aspect I would have liked to see is for the wings to have the same detail as the character. Doing that would focus the piece as a whole better, as the wings blend into the soft bg a bit too much, giving it a rather incomplete look.

With that aside, I absolutely love the vector work that you've done here. And I don't use the word 'love' lightly (look through my wallpaper comments if you must...i think it's like the second time in 2 years i've used it). The vector style matches the abstract and flowing bg very well, and the character coloring is saturated just to the right degree to complement the design.
Now, for the critiques. For one, I don't think the orange and yellow at the extreme ends fit too well. Those colors definitely need to be supported with similarly colored elements in the wall, or have more presence. The text is easily the weakest aspect of the wall, but having an eye for text placement and style only comes with experience and trying out tons of fonts.
As a word of advice for a future, when you have a sharp, abstract styled bg, try to avoid having things look blurry, and especially try to avoid using the glow on the normal or screen settings. The red wave design that has a glow stands out against the pixel-sharp effects in the bg, and makes it look blurry.
Overall, the colors and vector are very nice. It looks like you had fun going wild making the designs xD Your choice for an sharp abstract-styled bg is interesting, and not something that I expected. The problems here simply fall down to growing pains in walling, which you'll get over soon. You got vectoring nailed down :) +fav" View

"Overall you have a very solid design here, and almost every aspect is placed properly. The main issue with this wall, in my opinion, is that there needs to be more detail in the foreground. The grass and plants just look like filtered brush layers to me, which it shouldn't. The foreground needs some dynamic lighting in the form of highlights and shadows. The lack of lighting on the grass and plants is especially evident compared to the girl's hair, which has all the necessary detail.
Another little issue is the placement of the two birds on the right, which should also be detailed due to their proximity to the viewer. Otherwise, the layered mountains are realistically layered with different colors and the fog enshrouding the valleys are really well done. They sky supports the whole scene, and the colors are nice and vibrant. Good work on the wall, but there's still some things that need to be done." View

"Very solid design motif, and overall very good work. You've captured the falling snow very well, and the design effortlessly supports the mood and flow of the wall. The only little niggle in my opinion is that Batou is outlined a bit too strongly by the lights, but that's a microsopic blemish in a sea of awesomeness.

All the time that you spent on the hair really shows :) Everything in this wall works well, though personally i think crisp, vectored characters like what you have here don't blend that well with bgs that aren't equally as crisp. Next time, a bit more definition and crispness in the bg would do well.

"The bg work that you did blows me away, but the lighting just ruins it for me. Since the character and the bg have two different lighting sources, they really don't blend well together, which the fact that your bg is painted stock and your character is vectored doesn't help either.
The lighting in the bg is coming from the upper right, from the clouds, and all of the buildings, windows, and bg reflect this. However, the lighting for the character seems to be coming from a strong light source in the upper left, 'outside' of the wall. Logically, it works, but for blend and overall aesthetic, it doesn't work too well. The clash of lighting makes the character pop out, and as a result it looks like she is 'above' the bg rather than 'in' it.
It really isn't something you could have fixed easily, as either you would have to create a new light source in the upper left, but that would mean changing the bg. Or, you could redraw the shadows on the character, but you might as well revector =\
Otherwise, the vectoring on the character is awesome, and I am at a loss of words for how detailed the bg is. Really, I cannot tell you how much the bg rocks. The sky is really something also xD If the sky looked like that any day, I'd lock myself in the basement. Superb background, it's just that I just don't agree with the lighting. " View

The characters are actually Chinese, if I do say so. But then again, my knowledge of kanji is pretty limited, and I do know that Chinese and kanji are deceptively similar, so don't take my word for it =P Your vector of the girl and her flower decoration is beautiful, but as I said the graininess of the bg leaves a bit to be desired for.
Overall, nice work. You definitely captured the style of Asian paint work and composition. Another good wall from you :) I really shouldn't be surprised, but you always do surprise me as you never stick with a wallpaper style and type." View
