This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Very nice vectoring. The eyes especially are really vibrant :)
As for the bg, it's good. The sky is nice and soft, and the sun doesn't stand out too much. You did pick a scan that demanded a detailed bg, and it's a shame that the grass didn't work out. The water works, but it's a bit vague when it meets the character, which it shouldn't be. For future reference I guess, check out scan that have characters standing/sitting/lying down in the water. Otherwise, keep up the good work ^^" View

"Facial-focused wall are very, very hard to compose correctly. And it's even harder with vectors, since vectoring inherently deletes a lot of the details. So with close-up facial profile walls, it's a challenge to present something that's eye catching and design-oriented, as it's pretty much impossible to do a proper scenic wall in this way.
That aside, I think you did a very decent job meeting those challenges. Your vector style (especially how you vector hair) does add some vibrancy to the vector, and the texture is well managed. The tear running down his cheek is especially nice, so props to that as well :D Overall though, I can't help but feel that you ran a bit low on inspiration and creativity towards the end =X
*ahem* Looks like I got a bit too excited. Anyways, I see that you're definitely taking a departure from your normal manga-styled walling with this very pop-art interpretation. As a wall overall, its very solid. But to me, the lack of depth in the eyes, as well as the contrast between the clothing and the hair stand out a bit too much for me. This style is definitely eye-catching, though even in pop-art there's certain factors that play off each other, so you can't keep some things too simple.
Her clothing is detailed, with a nice floral design and even a fabric texture, but when compared to the solid, simply shaped hair it's a weird contrast for me. If the hair was more detailed with more bangs and flowing strands, then the solid black color would be justified. The eyes are vibrant, but they lack a certain depth that can be added. With a wall that is focused on the face, it's important to have some sort of depth in the eyes, especially in anime art.
The background is fairly simple, a bit too much I think some would argue. But otherwise, I think her drawing a heart with her fingers is a brilliant part of the wall, and her expression is very natural. I think one of the most important aspects of drawing manga-style characters is getting the character's expression to be natural and believable, and you've definitely mastered that ability :) Not to mention that for (i'm guessing) your first foray into pop-art walling, you did a pretty good job. You've got the color choices and the basic stylization down, and all you need to do is work on the details ^^
Sorry for my second wall of text. But I really do like the wall :) I hope you got enough praise so you'll keep making art xD " View

Superb work, as always. Are you making your own manga? It seems like it since you came out with so many original art walls. I really like the fabric and faded texture in the wall. "You did a beautiful job repainting and extending the sky, and you also did a very nice job on capturing a very special atmosphere in this wall. The text though, needs some more work. It's a bit too pixelated and jagged around the edges, not to mention a bad fit with the soft and gentle wall. Also, the positioning of the font is a bit awkward as well. Placing it farther away from the character and more towards the bottom of the wall would probably be a better place.
Overall, the text needs some more editing and time before it'll fit the wall. Otherwise, nice work :)" View

"You've got an incredible talent, being able to both paint/vector bgs, and being able to CG your own characters. Your work is so good that I thought you vectored a scan until i looked closer at your description.
The key here though, is composition and lighting. She leaves no shadow on the beach despite the vivid lighting. So therefore it looks like she is 'floating' on top of the wall rather than being part of the scene. Arguably the composition of the wall needs work as well, with the character so close of the water (and the water not leaving wet marks in the sand) kind of make this wall look separated, and disorienting. In addition, the sand definitely needs more texture and color variety. Sand is almost never that solid in color and texture, so it looks like she's laying down on yellow concrete than sand.
Don't get me wrong, you did a very impressive job. I'm particularly impressed with the water reflections, and I'm a sucker for fanart and original art. But the key in scenic walling is not only to stimulate the imagination, but make it believable in the sense that the person viewing that wall can imagine being there. The bg and your CG work are very impressive on their own right, but there's that -something- about the scene which seems a bit distracting. Overall, nice work. I'm definitely looks forward to more walls from you :) +fav for amazing technique.
