As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. I like the background, it's very easy on the eyes, though I can't help but think it's an enlarged image (it looks kind of blurry, especially around the small planet in the bottom left corner).
Also, you might want to be more careful with the extraction, there are still rough edges, like the ones around her right shoulder (from our point of view) and the legs. Though I have no idea why you needed to extract it, I provided a .PNG version from the very beginning >_>
Anyway, you might want to take these things into account when making a wallpaper. Overall, it's good for your first work, but there are minor things that lower the quality. And please, please credit me! (I can't say this enough >.<)" View

I think the contrast between the background and Usagi is much too high. I mean, green and blue don't blend in at all with yellow and red -they're completely opposite. I suggest you pick another color scheme, like red + yellow or red + yellow + white. It would look much better, in my opinion.
