"The first thing i noticed is that this wall lacked depth..

i dunno, it kinda looked flat to me, maybe try to blur some on the edges to add depth,

nice choice of BG though the depth still doesn't match with the inner part..

beyond the flowers, the trees don't match, the cloud looks dull,
maybe make it a little darker, and make the cloud the one that is brighter..

also, if you used gradient on his hair, you could also use it on his body to
make it a little better, and you used the same size of brush strokes..

and also it would look better if you used some real nice snowflakes, just blur it a bit on the edges to make it mix with the rest of the wall..
