After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Hello lnwz ~ I can't remember whether or not I ever responded to the guestbook post you left me about a month ago, but if I have not, I sincerely apologize, and I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to give you my regards : )
However, of course that isn't the only thing that I wanted to say; this piece is absolutely gorgeous! I know you have a knack for many simplistic walls, after having gone through your gallery a few times, but you should consider doing more scenic wallpapers like this, because this has come out absolutely gorgeously < 3 Your most recent submission before this one ("my Dest|ny+") came out very nicely as well. Both wallpapers really allow me to indulge in the soft pastel colors that give an almost painted feel, and I find that to be one of the most attractive features of both pieces.
- and of course, that isn't to say that your minimalistic walls aren't well made either ~ As you might recall from the comment that I left on your "The Voice I Heard Is No More" piece, I am attracted actually moreso to crisp and often abstract wallpapers than landscape/scenic ones that are unfortunately much too often cluttered with picayune and unnecessary details. There are so many more earlier submissions of yours that I would love to offer my praise and to express the delight as to which they give me; unfortunately, life permits too little and I wouldn't have the time to adequately address each one : '( but I thought I would let you know that many of your walls greatly impress me - to name a few: "One Night Star...~" and "Nobody Reason~" and many many others : )
Love Hina was a great series despite however ecchi x3;; but you chose a wonderful scan for which you have created a beautiful though simple background. However, you have also added just enough detail, such as the sakura petals, that accent at just the right places and effectively create an illusionary breeze ~ Also, tama-chan (the turtle) is absolutely adorable x3 and I'm so glad that you chose a scan that had her in it :3 < 3
Typically, you'll hear me complain a lot about text placement and font choice in several of my wallpaper comments, although going through your gallery, I think you've mastered both techniques, and I really like the simple yet modern feel that both often contribute to your pieces. I applaud you for that, and I wish to convey my greatest appreciation for that skill : )
Overall, this really is a stunning work of art, and I have it bookmarked so that I can use it as my background just as soon as spring comes around and the temperature starts to rise < 3 Thank you for sharing this with us, and I look forward to more from you! : )))
"Ah, upon first glance at this wallpaper, I really liked it ~ and to be honest, I was a bit afraid from looking at the thumbnail that it'd be one of those abstract walls that had flawed aspects here and there, but upon further inspection, this is actually very pretty and stylish.
I haven't seen one of these types of styled wallpapers in a while, and it's refreshing to find one made so well and so prettily. I agree; the character is very cute < 3 and the scan extraction is quite clean and clear - especially at the resolution that you have it at *___* ~ Scan extraction may seem like a pretty elementary skill to have as a waller, but with the vast amounts of vectored characters nowadays as opposed to extracted characters in walls, it's actually a rather vital aspect in a piece that does contribute to the wall's quality - if executed well like it is here : )
You matched the rest of the colours in the piece very well to the scan, too, and the colour theming both pleasantly highlight the scan's soft lilac colours as well as illuminate the brilliance of the blues in the background. The textures you used fit the piece spectacularly and give the blue a kind of burnished look that complement the style of the scan and make the character look like she's sitting on water or a piece of silky cloth. In addition, I really like the textures in the background, too, and I love how they give the entire piece a pretty and stony look that coolly add to the beauty of the character < 3
The quaint flower patterns that you added in here and there are rather pleasant additions as well, which I find quite aesthetically and visually appealing :3 The only complaint that I have is the text : x which is fine considering that sometimes it is the hardest aspect to incorporate into a piece such as this ~ "Shining Wind".. seems a bit unnecessary in my opinion, and I feel that the wallpaper would look better without (but of course, this is only my personal preference) and your signature in the bottom left hand corner of the wall... I think.. that the colour of it is fine as is, but perhaps finding a font that would suit the style of the wall better might enhance the piece overall[?] These two aspects are simply things that I feel would make this piece even more beautiful than it already is : x
Overall, it really is a beautiful wallpaper ^^ and I find it to be very quaint and pretty :3 Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing new pieces from you in the future ~ !" View

"I am absolutely blown away.
: E No words can describe the love that I am feeling for this wall. I think... that this is, by far, my favourite piece out of all the wallpapers that you have ever done o____o < 3 (and that's saying a lot, considering that I love each and every single one of your walls DDD:)
This is absolutely beautiful - not even conceptually speaking, but - the vector itself is just stunning as always ~ Clear, crisp colours with clean cut outlines < 3 and I love the way that you often use pastel-esque type colours while the final result always ends up being so strong and so bold despite the lightness of the colours used. I love the blues and the greens that you used in this piece, accented by the soft grays of the cage and browns in the flower bulb.
While the green gradient that comes out from the right side of wall does bother me ever the slightest, looking at it a bit more, I find it very aesthetically appealing how it contributes to the transition of colours throughout the entire piece. From right to left, the gradient carries your eyes to the leaves through the likeness of the colours and then softly transitions into the greenish blue birds that's colours grow bolder as they 'fly' to the left.
The scan that you chose was fantastic, and as I had mentioned, the vectoring is astounding. I love the way that you made the cage look more detailed in certain areas to emanate that antique feel to the metal; the way old birdcages usually look. and all the details in the leaves and the bulb, the vase, and even the girl's hair is just.. your vectoring has always been absolutely perfect, and this wall is no exception. Highlights and shadows are always placed in the most exact and precise places < 3 and even though this is from someone that doesn't wall or vector herself, my admiration for your skills surpasses that (my) flaw x ]
The incorporation of the birds is very well executed and ingenious, having been taken from such a differently styled scan. As always, this wall, like all your other walls, is elegant ~ both artistically and conceptually. Needless to say, I love this < 3 and I shall continue to await further new and upcoming pieces :3 (from you) x3
"So Bromithia insisted that I comment this wall D: so here I am ~ get ready for a long one : s
Like I pointed out to Brom, the main aspect that turned me away from this wall is the level of provocativeness of the character : ( but that's just me being biased, because I'm a girl u.u and not lesbian. Although, on the topic of scan... you're trying to portray summer-ish here : s but ~ why does the scan make me feel more winter-y than summer-y =.=''
She is very pretty though, I'll give you that : s and I like how you matched the grainy, watercolour-esque texture of the scan with the typography, background 'calendar', and paint splashes/splotches in the wall. I think .. it would've been better if you did the same to the giant vector flower thingy; I agree that it was a good way to integrate the character into the rest of the wall, but the boldness of the black just kind of... kills it D:
However however ~ The coordination of the colours - using the red/black in the character and incorporating it into the text was nice. The typography is rather smexy, and I have no comments or complaints for the rays. The idea of a never-ending June 20th is rather interesting [I like it], and the signature isn't that over-sized : < and even if, at least it's a billion times more stylish than the usual ugly signatures that are ugily stamped onto walls ~
Overall, not too bad. Like I said, the ecchinech :E of the wall disturbs me enough to where I don't take to it, but from an unbiased standpoint, good entry for ze Pool Party ~
Eh D: Frankly and blatantly blatantly honestly speaking, your walls have .. not ... impressed me as of late : / This is a lot better, but I still have a few complaints Dx so excuse my nit-picky-ness (you can bitch to me later whenever you catch me on IRC if you wish >.>;;;) ~
Like I said, overall, this wall is not bad in the least. The sunset is pretty, and the colours are beautiful, especially is such stark contrast - the warm coloured sky antithesis to the cool coloured silhouettes. Hm, twas quite a nice touch ~ the lighter blotches of colour closer to the horizon where the sun would usually provide a glare (at least that's what I'm assuming the intent was : s).
The original scan you chose was smexy < 3 although Brom ~ Hrm : s I know it would have taken away from the authenticity of your finished piece, but I think the wall would've came out better if the bottom half of the wall looked more like the original image you worked off of than you just painting in the entire thing one colour. Although although ~!the separation is quite quaint and makes the wall look more complete. The only reason I'd prefer otherwise is because by painting the entire bottom half in, it looks a bit.. awkward[?] like the character is just standing on top of a ... house or something instead of being able to tell that the silhouette of the trees/buildings/townscape is actually above the horizon line.
: sss I kind of like the girl better than the later scan you chose to use as the character >.>;; I don't know.. it might just be me D: but the style of the background and the character you later chose seem to clash a bit : ((( but but but like I said DDD: it's probably just me ~
Naw, this is pretty good : x You know I love your work, Brom :3 and I'm a fan. (I'll keep watching you until you come out with something better >.> : x) but hey : D I... should drop by IRC more and say hi to you before school starts .. again ... ;___; Dx" View

"Late late >.< as always ~ : ( but that's what I get for being away for a while : x
Hm, honestly speaking, I preferred your other Sanji wall to this one, although I do agree with you that the scan is very very sexy < 3 The vector came out rather nicely, and I like the blue in his eyes and shirt, which pleasantly complement his yellow hair.
The way the smoke wraps around his head is pretty cool as well, although I don't completely agree with the other streaks of colour that also string through the smoke. It does add a bit more colour to the piece, yet I don't find that necessary, since I feel that the colours featured in Sanji's hair, face, and clothes would suffice for the entire piece.
Mm... I like that you didn't use a solid black for the outlines in the wall and for Sanji's suit; if it were darker, I think that it'd produce too much of contrast, which wouldn't be needed. I also find the text rather interesting and well placed, and once again, the concrete-textured background is quite fitting, if I would say so myself ~
Usually ~ I enjoy the textures and patterns that you use throughout your walls, but this time... I think I would have preferred it if you used a different texture for Sanji's hair that would have contrasted more from the background, and I can't say I take well or understand the bubbly/spotted pattern in the smoke.. : s but that's just a personal preference.
Other than that though, as always, good job with the wall ~ It's not my favourite out of all of your works : s but nonetheless, it is quite a nice piece. Keep it up, Eruanne : ) I still look forward to more ~" View

"Hm, on the most basic level, this is a pretty good vector. The screenshot that you chose to work off of is indeed a very pretty shot of the character.
The stark white of her face in contrast with her blood red lips and black hair almost makes me think of a geisha when I first looked at this wall. I also really like the red feathers floating about her; it gives the piece a bit of a gory yet elegant feel, which - from what I've heard of Blood Plus - suits the anime rather well.
The texture that you used throughout the vector almost makes the black look like it was inked on by a Chinese calligraphy brush, especially against the texture white of her face which reminds me of the thin rice paper that Chinese calligraphy is usually done on. I think it looks good, and her lips look as if they might have been painted on by the juice of a cherry or some other red fruit as.
Overall, it's an elegant piece formed out of an elegant scan - in this case, screenshot. Simple, but good nonetheless, in my opinion. The only complaint that I have with this piece is the background; indeed, it provides the wall with a dark and musky tone, which might just as well be perfect suitable for the feel that you were trying to convey, but as a wallpaper that someone (like me) would usually like to use as a desktop, I feel that perhaps less would have felt a bit cleaner and crisper to use. For instance ~ brightening up the white in her face and putting in a lighter background, but still more coloured and darker than her face. but then again, that is a personal preference, and I don't mean to put down what you've done here.
Naw, in general, I do like this quite a bit. It looks good, and do keep up the good work ~ : )" View

"Ahaha x DDD This is nuts ~!I love it x ]]] < 3 < 3 < 3
I've heard fun things about this game :3 but I never picked it up ~ Now, I might because of this wall x ))) It looks so cute ~~~ Haha < 3 ~ !
I love the statue characters as the focus of the entire piece :3 The colours are so yummy, and I think the matching colour text/sounds with the statues is ingenious x ) Mmmm, the shapes and colours have stolen my heart < 3 My heart beats with the CHAKA PATA PON x333 ~
Hehe : > and all the excess characters on the side and surrounding the statues are awesome ~ reds vs the whites x D I wish I played the game, so I could comment more on the significance of the characters :3 but even without, I can still somewhat appreciate the intrigue of them x ) I like the larger faded monsters in the background as well; you can kind of tell by the thumbnail, but with the full view of the wall - that crab is so hardcore x DDD
The bubbly trees and the wisps of clouds in the back background look really good, too :3 and AH : D the birdies are ADORABLE x333 *me eats them* RAWR CHOMP x ]
It's a beautiful wall, overall x3 Well done well done ~ I really enjoy the scene and everything : D is just amazing ~ Great work!" View

": O A new wall from flyin' ~ x ] sweetness < 3
Hehe, the thumbnail really does not do this piece justice at all :3 Full view is the sex < 3 The vector of the girl and bubbles look amazing < 3 In detail, all the layers of colours that provide the subtle yet attributing shadows and highlights add so much to the aesthetic appeal, it's orgasmic x333 - especially for someone like me who yields to details ;3 The lines are smooth and lovely in her hair and bone structure ~ vectorlicious ~~~ yum x ]
In general, the scan you chose is also very interesting : o and you really turned it into something awesome and deliciously blue *___* < 3 I knew I recognized those clouds from one of your other pieces, too : o but despite the familiarity, it grows on you and it fits the wall quite quite nicely :3 I < 3 the ferris wheel; I thought it rather clever adding it in, and it certainly contributes to the entire wall's summery feel despite being such a cool colour ~
When I first looked at this wall, I got this end-of-a-long-summer-day melancholy feel. It's like when you're at a carnival and your parents tell you it's time to go home, and you wish you could just die right there and die happy x ]
It's a beautiful wall, flyin' :3 I really like it ~ You did an amazing job x ) Keep it up ~~~" View

"^lol. I have quite a bit to say in response to that, but I shall reserve myself : >
Hello ~ We never met formally, but it was quite interesting and pleasant being graced by your presence yesterday on the shoutbox : ) Like I said, I would get to commenting this wall; I just apologize that it took me a little while x );; but hey : P I'm here now, and here we go ~
The first thing that caught my eye when I first saw this wall was the colours < 3 Oh my gosh, I love them x ] and then I saw that the character was from the game, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, that Cy had just mentioned earlier that day, and I was like x D sweet ~!Bright, vibrant colours + white usually hurt my eyes and lend to my distaste towards a piece : s but with this wallpaper, I find them fun and exuberant ~!x3 I also love the textures/patterns you used instead of solid colours as well : D I think it looks smexy < 3
For your second attempt at a vector, this certainly looks magnificently amazing, and I sincerely but modestly disagree with Spudsy's criticism of the white on white. I don't have much of a say in this as this is only a personal opinion, but I've always found that as long as a crisp, clean line is present to divide even the same colour into clear, distinct figures or pictures, that's fine. One small thing I'd point out though, looking at the piece in full size is that the black lines could be a bit crisper : x I'm not sure since I don't vector myself, but I think if you do the vectoring in higher resolution and shrink it down to fit the wallpaper later, it provides cleaner and crisper black lines. You might have to check with someone who actually knows what they're doing though : x I'm just a critic x3;; but like I said : P for your second vector ever, besides that small aspect, it looks great ~ Also x D as I was saying about the white on white : P it also isn't that bad since the patterned colours do highlight the picture and add quite a bit of aesthetic appeal x3 Now, you see ~ if the character was entirely white - even w/ outlines - on a white background, then I might agree more with the point Spuds was trying to make. No harm done though :3 As always with these sort of things, it's too each his own ^^
Additionally, on the subject of the awesome textured, patterned colours : P ~ the way you also incorporated that abstractly onto the right hand side of the wall, I thought, was a very nice touch ~ The beakers are adorable x3 and you see, for those : o you have a lot crisper and cleaner lines. If the character had those as well, it would make this piece even more perfect x3 (not to say it isn't amazing as is : P)
The splatter looks good and reminds me of the mixtures I used to spill in Chem class x D;; and then the text is awesome, too, and reminds me of the notes I used to scribble in all of my science classes x P Very suiting ~~~ The gradient of colour throughout the text is also quite attractively aesthetic :3 as they somewhat transition from the colour of hair all the way over to the bright yet dulled golden yellow where the abstract shapes start to come in x3 I agree that the text was also very well placed :3 and I love the title you gave this piece. The subtle yet pleasing deviations from the gold/orange colours such as the red and the green really enhance the piece overall ~ the face on the character's handbag is adorable x D and in its entirety, this piece came out pretty well :3
I usually don't agree with signatures placed in the actual wall itself, but you did it well here with the subtle line of colour underneath the text and small text with the "wallpaper by" and "animepaper" x3 Awesome, awesome wall ~ and I don't favourite wallpapers o.o but if I did :3 this definitely would have been one for me x3
Great job, ravenrogue : ) Keep up the good work and don't let what certain people say about your work get you down ; P or stop you from continuing to try ~ I hope to see you around : )" View

"Woa ~!You actually submitted it. Usually, whenever you ask me for suggestions on MSN or our secret IRC channel, you don't -actually- submit it until like... 3 years later?
I already said a lot of what I'm going to say here to you on MSN. What I love most about this wall is the lighting < 333 It makes the entire piece feel so light and airy ~ I love it ~ and I really like how the light seems to wash over everything and flood onto the character's hair and her skin.
The shades and the colours came out fine ~ I feel that the entire colour theme of this wall is light, pastel-y, and .. skin-toned [?] It definitely adds to the softness, and I like it :3 The CG looks good, and the lines and the colours look crisp and smooth ~~~ with, still, the light gradient that washes over it, which I've already pointed out (don't make fun of my lack of photoshop knowledge :E).
I'm kind of surprised that this isn't ecchi or mecha x D - joking joking < 3 but the character is very cute. Never seen this series before; perhaps you or muz or one of the others will tell me a bit about it and if it's a wint-suitable anime : s
The sparkles are nice and not too distracting... Mmmm, good job : ) I'll drop by IRC soon - I promise < 3" View

"I'm baaack :3 ... of course I would've liked to've been the first to comment this wall : < but within the hour, many already preceded me ~
Woa, you really did a number with that scan, didn't you ~ The vector looks amazing, and I actually rather like the scan you chose. I can pick out the lineart a bit here and there : o Looks good ~ and the painted shadows came out pretty well, too.
You definitely succeeded in using the sketchiness of the lines and the textured colours to give the piece that aged and paperish look, which - I feel - also fit the theme quite splendidly (which is why x3 - I'm sure - you used it in the first place : P) ~ Speaking of which, the colours are beautiful, and the background ~!Oh gosh < 3 The entire colour theme of the wall makes me imagine the wolf running as the god-like tinted red wind on the golden water during sunset. It's beautiful; I love it < 3 I also really like the overlapping of the yellow colours in the background; I think that it was the effect that it emanated that made me think of water first when I looked at it ~
It's a gorgeous wall ~ < 3 The onlylittle thing that I'd say I wasn't very fond of in this piece would have to be the character you added into the bottom right corner. Mm.. I do admit, it was a clever aesthetic addition, but either something about the font or how small the character is.. that kind of turned me off when I noticed it. I think.. that maybe if you made it bigger [?] and made it a bit more designed and perhaps.. centered it a bit in the middle right of the wall, it would have appealed to me more (but I think I might just being nit-picky : x )
Naw ~ overall, this came out very nicely, especially for an experimental piece ~ I'm looking forward to that Inuyasha wall of yours. Keep up the good work : )

"At first, I decided to click on the thumbnail for this wall in the recent wallpapers list, because I was like ": o What is that? It looks like a penguin ^___^ < 3" and then when I took a closer look and downloaded the image, it ended up being a scary fat man with a creepy smile on his face ;___;'' I've obviously never seen or read D Gray-man, but this wall sparks some interest in me, and I think I might go pick it up now o_o
On to the wall ~
I assume that the text has something to do with the character or the series.. but on purely technical terms, I like the simplicity and cleanliness of the font which reflect the simplicity of the entire piece overall. Also, the sentences intrigue me.
I took a look at the original scan you worked with, and I like what you did with it. The colouring looks amazing, and the highlights and shadows here and there are done very well - light and watercolour-ish. The pure white background certainly accents the colours & darkness in the piece even more, especially in the Earl's face and what is seemingly underneath that vast white coat of his.
The style of this series' artwork is also one of the things that draws and attracts me to it. Like I said, you made the text complement the character very well, and due to the simplicity of this piece, unfortunately, there isn't much more I can say o.o but I do love it < 3 I'm glad you chose to submit this version rather than the other one ~ I personally prefer this version ~ (but that's just me x3) ~
It looks really good, and I look forward to using this wall as my desktop background sometime ;3 Awesome work < 3 I love it ~

"Oh dear ~ I have been so lazy @@;; Ever since I first saw this wall in the recent wallpapers list on the front page, I've been meaning to comment it but have utterly failed to do so ~
Ahhh ~ This wall deserves so much more attention than it's gotten ;___; - what with the details you included like the posters, fonts, characters, and perspective, I was telling a friend that I'd've featured this wallpaper if I could : x
You did an awesome job. Although I've never actually played a Silent Hill game before, this wallpaper depicts the absolute reason why ~ The effect that the tilted image gives off is one of nauseating confusion and a dizzying off-kilter view of the environment - one which often makes me quite uncomfortably nauseous in video games. It's ingenious that you started off with that stock photo and that you made the characters fit in perfectly. Not to mention also that the lighting of the tunnel was very well-executed - that is, how it fades from the dusty yellow lighting into the darkness of the tunnel back to the eerie white light of the sun and/or florescent lamps.
The grunge effect throughout the entire piece was very successful, in my opinion. Heather - I assume, the main character in this wall - looks quite worn and dirty while her surroundings reflect her grunginess. As I mentioned, the posters and the writing on the wall were interesting additions to the piece - you did a good job making the posters fit into the wallpaper by putting them on the floors and walls of the tunnel and grunging them up a bit to fit the scene, too.
Haha, I might not be able to tell you what all the posters are, but I have a certain Silent Hill-fan boyfriend who would probably do a pretty good job x D He really liked this wall when he first saw it, too; it's a shame he hasn't found the time to comment it either > <;; But back to what I was saying ~ The writing on the wall that looks bloody and adds to the rather unsettling aura looks pretty good. I took a look at the "Otherside" version, and I have to give you props ~ that version also kicks ass : P
Overall, great work. This wall certainly gave me that nauseous feeling of distortion when I first looked at it x D which is - strangely - a good thing x P and definitely gives me the creeps, too x3 ooo ~ Hehe, good job : ) Keep it up ( ^^)b

"Pfft, failure. Have you taken a look at the other walls in the recent/featured galleries? This is exceptional in comparison and much the opposite of a failure in my opinion ~
Hm, as expected, I think my taking a strong liking to your latest three walls makes me an official fan, Eruanne : < This piece is beautiful, and I have to say I am rather fond of the style that you've implemented in your latest wallpapers - that is, the modest colours and the painted picture-esque/sepian atmospheric feel.
Although the wall didn't turn out exactly as you had originally planned, I feel that the piece still greatly reflects your initial purpose and intent. Your conception of the idea for this wall is stunning as well, by the way ~ going through what you had written about what you were trying to convey, I can definitely grasp that vibe and that aura of the concept; the character looks as if she is ruminating on all that you had mentioned and moving in spite of her stillness. I agree with you, too, that the movement accentuated in her hair and clothes being blown about by the imaginary and supernatural wind in the picture certainly helps to emphasize that. Honestly, I think you did a wonderful job making the character "stick" as you put it ~ I wouldn't have questioned or looked into it any more than a glance if you hadn't mentioned it, and even now that I have take a closer look, I still can't find any irregularities. so don't be so harsh on yourself ~ The lightness of the shadow beneath her adds to her sense of airiness and ephemeral lightness.
I like the wall screen in the background and the red moon was a fantastic choice for the title of the wall, if I do say so myself ~ The lilies are gorgeous, and good job working with the other scan to vector out the butterflies and the flowers. I really like this piece, as I've said ~ and this is magnificent work, so don't say you suck or that this is a failure : P because it's not : )

Lily Hoshino: Thank you for smoking

"I'm not a very big fan of pink ~ but I like this wall quite a bit in spite of the colour theme, and I feel you really made it work for this piece.
The character is awesome, and I agree - very sexy x ) even though the smoking doesn't appeal to me very much : x but smoking flowers ~ aha! Now, that's a different story... ; ) Speaking of which, I like the concept, and the flora is quite catching to the eye - not too trendwhory at all, in my opinion ~
The smooth contours and outlines of the colours are amazing and quite crisp ~ which has always been something that I've loved about these kind of style walls - plus the simple yet effective use of highlights and shadows on skin, hair, and clothes : )
Back to the flowers - I like the different patterns you decided to use and that you chose to use the lightest tint of pink for the "smoke" while accenting the background with large flowers with little colour contrast - but enough contrast to where it softens the eye and eliminates the effect of awkward, large, pink negative space. I have to say that you made the gradient colour work very well for the background flowers sprouting out from beneath the character. The contrast is aesthetically pleasing yet not distracting ~
The text is amazing - as always in all of your walls. and overall, I have next to no personal opinions of criticism ~
Awesome work, and I look forward to commenting more of your walls (especially if you choose to make more Kino no Tabi and/or Mushishi walls : xxx >two of my favourite series< [... I actually started watching Mushishi because of you and Candy-chan >.>;; but I digress] ~ : x) It's refreshing to see a unique idea that's been worked with and molded into a good wall in the midst of pages and pages of wallpapers that are basically just cut and pasted scans onto backgrounds - and don't get me wrong, many artists make it work very well - but it's just something that has always made me a fan of your work, Tama-chan ~ Hope to see you around : )" View
Light the visions

"Well, this wall is a bit bright - I think that was the first thing I thought looking at this piece, but to be honest, I kind of like the light it gives off.
Essentially speaking, this is a fairly simple wall. As you pointed out yourself, it only took a few hours, but I like the lighting and textures you added - it almost gives the scan a bit of a burnished watercolor-esque feel. Some might say the lighting is a -bit- too intense, but ~ to each his own.
Mm, the only thing I have to say about this wall that I don't like is the signature : / It's a bit too ostentatious, and I can understand that you want your work to be credited : x but you can always watermark it into the bottom in the same place the black bar currently is : s I'm sorry ;___;'' I don't mean to be a pest, but it's a personal preference and I honestly feel that it would enhance the piece ~
The last two details that I'd also like to point out is the flowers and leafage coming out of the character's hands as well as the text. I think they match each other very well and fit into the wallpaper, too.
All in all, I liked it. It's a good piece, and you worked well with the scan. I agree with Bernouli that the scan still holds a lot more potential, but for your intents and purposes, I think it worked out fine. Good job ~" View

"So, I know I promised to leave a comment for this wallpaper, so here I am now ~ (My apologies; I know this is way overdue.) but hey, you're awesome : D (and yes, that is completely irrelevant since I don't.. actually know you...) Anyway ~ : x
I've never watched One Piece myself; I'm not a big fan of extended anime series, but my sister has seen the show before, I believe ~ and I have to say, Sanji is looking ~smokin'~ in this piece.
I like the neutral coloured theme you have going on and the smooth, crisp lines. Each shape is very well defined, and to me, I like the feeling I get from this wall - like you could cut every colour out and put the entire picture back together like a puzzle. The smoke looks very cool, and I think it's great the way you made it flow out of the cigarette and expand/disperse into the air. The brown vertical stripes on the couch that Sanji's sitting on gives the illusion that his limbs are even longer than they already are - accentuating his lanky, sprawled out look.
It's amazing how well you worked with the scan, and you really did turn it into a wonderful piece. I'm glad that you decided to preserve the "sketchy" feel of the scan in the wallpaper, and I think it does a good job of emphasizing the entire feel of the wall overall - so job well done : ) The neutral coloured theme I mentioned before definitely helps out with that, not to mention the concrete paperish background that you added in as well.
I really enjoy your work, and the next time you come out with something new - if I catch sight of it - you can definitely expect another comment from me : ]" View

"I still have to comment your last piece, which I will shortly... but I caught sight of this one, so I might as well first ~
Like AtlantisPrince said, it does look like it's painted on wood, but looking at your previous piece and this one, I really like the style that you use in your wallpapers - the sepia-like colour theme and the textures. that you use that are simply beautiful and add to your walls very nicely.
I agree with you - I've never been a big fan of big-breasted girls that are merely there for fanservice : P, but I have to say that I'm rather fond of this scan. You made her skin look like porcelain, and her clothes look as if they're as soft and silky as the flowers' petals surrounding her. The colours are very clean and pure, and I've always been a universally huge fan of that wherever nice clean colours are used.
I love how you made it look like the flowers were bleeding out of her clothing. I honestly find it stunning and the idea of it is entrancing. I know I've already pointed out the colours in your wall many many times already, but there's one last thing I feel I have to add - and that's the way they all seem to take on one base tone that really harmonizes the entire wall. Unlike your previous piece with Sanji in it where there are only neutral colours, this piece has red and blue and green, but you managed to dull them to a point where they are still vibrant and attractive but complement one another in the entire picture - which is further emphasized by the simple textured wood-like background.
Awesome work; it truly is very elegant ; ] I really like it, and with what I saw of "The me sitting here..." and this piece, I very much look forward to new walls by you in the future : ) Keep it up ~" View

"Talk about morbid - haha.
This is one of those walls that you see on the front page of animepaper and go "oh, that looks interesting" and then when you take a closer look, go "woah O_o .. oh wow" and perhaps turn away... But for the amount of time that you spent on this, this wall is not getting the attention it deserves - at least not in my opinion. Yea, old anime styles aren't quite that popular, except for those that like that classic feel, but I personally find this piece very appealing and there're things about it that attract me to it.
The details and the lineart are mesmerizing. and simply fantastic. I can see the work and the time that you put into it, and I think that it's seriously being depreciated here. You worked with the scan very well, and until I actually took a look at the original scan, I would not have been able to guess that the boy and the soldiers lying on the ground had ever been in two different places.
The lines and the colours are very clean and very crisp, and the slight texture, I think, is also a nice touch, but I disagree with what vampirebuster666 said about the kid and the wall being "too clean and clear". Instead, I feel that the lack of cuteness or darkness of the boy brings out the stark sincerity of his expression, and the same goes for the cleanliness and clarity. It's as if the lack of blood and grime and filth actually brings out the reality of it better - as if the crispness says this is real and this is what is actually going on, and it brings out the morbidity and darkness even more in essence.
Good work, and although I've never the biggest fan of old anime - or really a fan at all (frankly, I actually -detest- it), this piece really stood out to me, and I liked it. Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing new wallpapers from you in the future ~" View

"The first thing I noticed when I first saw this wallpaper was the angle that the scene seemed to be shot from. I really like the perspective, and I applaud you for pulling that off, because I've always found that it's a difficult task ~ Of course, a good scan always helps, but I feel that an artist's execution is also key.
It was a good extraction, and you did a great job cleaning the scan and filling in the missing spaces where there had been text and boxes. The lighting is good - the highlights and shaded areas - and it really gives it that feel of being in the clouds directly underneath the sun, which the texture also contributed to, I think.
The clouds look fantastic, and I'm honestly glad that you went with the clouds rather than a space theme, because I agree that the theme that you did decide on suits the scan very well. A lot of people might say that this is one of those walls that looks too much like the original scan, but I frankly enjoy pieces like these, because they're clean, simple, and crisp.
"I've wanted to comment this wall for a little while now since I first caught sight of it, but I haven't really gotten a chance to until now. Even now, I'm somewhat forcing myself down and commenting everything that I wanted x );;
Ah ~~~ well, to start, I've never seen Code Geass, but I like the scan you chose, which is saying quite a bit since it's hard for me to really ever appreciate female characters in that style of anime. You extracted the scan well and managed to make the style of the entire wall.. one. A lot of artists seem to have difficulty with that when they create a wallpaper, especially one that incorporates a more conceptual theme like yours: the scan tends to stick out and the background either looks more drawn or more real or photograph-like than the character, and it looks awkward; but I don't get that sense of strangeness from your piece, which I think is commendable.
I like the effect of having the scan and lettering on a page of loose-leaf paper. Even though the wall is rather simple, I think you executed it very well. The lighting looks good - with accented highlights on certain parts of the paper/scan. The colours are nice, too; the scan blends into the paper, and you did a good job allowing the character be the main focus of the wall but, at the same time, not letting the scan jump out awkwardly out of the piece. The grunge is a nice touch and not excessive, so that's good, and overall, the piece is unique and different from most pieces I've seen.
The only thing I would have to point out would be the purpose of the "paper" theme. Usually for walls like these, there's an idea that the artist is trying to convey that is related to the series somehow. Like I said, I've never seen Code Geass, so I couldn't be able to tell if there were some "hidden meaning". I'm just being a pest and pointing it out ^^;; my apologies ~
It's good work, and hopefully, I can look forward to seeing more by you in the future : )" View

"Ah, the movie, Spirited Away, is absolutely fantastic ~ It's nice to see a good wall that's been inspired by it.
As others have mentioned, the title matches the background, and I think it's perfectly fitting. The entire piece is.. a bit dark, and I think that if there were a bit more contrast in the painting, it'd help everything in the wall stand out even more, but even so - I have to say that the paint job was done magnificently, and the shading that is there is very well done, too.
Haha, whoever thought that the image was a vector obviously didn't take a very close look at the wallpaper itself. What you mentioned about the lineart was accurate, but I don't think you should be so harsh on yourself. It looks good, and it could be improved with crisper, cleaner lines in my opinion, but at the same time ~ the sketchy look makes the piece seem.. even more authentic and makes the fact that the wall is completely painted become more obvious, so overall - no, it's good. It looks very good.
Haku looks so suave ~ and Chihiro looks very strong. I think the scans you decided on were good choices, and very fitting. I have to say that the styles.. of the background and the characters seem a little bit detached, but not so much that they're awkward. I'm sorry ^^;; the only reason I'd even point it out is because I'm extremely meticulous and I look for each detail, so don't mind my nipping ~
I like the lamp, too; see, the contrast on that was done very well, I think ~ and I like how it seems to glow and radiate from the light source. In the background, I think.. to help with making the entire wall look more like one style would be to make the clouds a bit less wispy and more defined so it fits with the lamp and the characters. However, it does also give off a more "midnight-y" atmosphere, which corresponds with the title of the wallpaper, so hey ~ I might be wrong : )
You did a good job, and I like it. Oh, also, one last thing - I think it's incredible that you were able to make the wood in the piece look so much like wood even though it's painted. I know it's a small detail, but it's just something I noticed. From personal experience - whether it be graphically or with actual paint - making paint look like wood is difficult, so props for that.

"Hello lnwz ~ I can't remember whether or not I ever responded to the guestbook post you left me about a month ago, but if I have not, I sincerely apologize, and I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to give you my regards : )
Know that you'll always have a fan ( ^^)b"

"Ah, upon first glance at this wallpaper, I really liked it ~ and to be honest, I was a bit afraid from looking at the thumbnail that it'd be one of those abstract walls that had flawed aspects here and there, but upon further inspection, this is actually very pretty and stylish.I haven't seen one of these types of styled wallpapers in a while, and it's refreshing to find one made so well and so prettily.
Overall, it really is a beautiful wallpaper ^^ and I find it to be very quaint and pretty :3 Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing new pieces from you in the future ~ !"

"I am absolutely blown away.: E No words can describe the love that I am feeling for this wall. I think... that this is, by far, my favourite piece out of all the wallpapers that you have ever done o____o < 3 (and that's saying a lot, considering that I love each and every single one of your walls DDD:)

"So Bromithia insisted that I comment this wall D: so here I am ~ get ready for a long one : sLike I pointed out to Brom, the main aspect that turned me away from this wall is the level of provocativeness of the character : ( but that's just me being biased, because I'm a girl u.u and not lesbian.
See ya on IRC, w00t : ]"

"Brom brom brom :EEh D: Frankly and blatantly blatantly honestly speaking, your walls have .. not ... impressed me as of late : / This is a lot better, but I still have a few complaints Dx so excuse my nit-picky-ness (you can bitch to me later whenever you catch me on IRC if you wish >.>;;;) ~
(I'll keep watching you until you come out with something better >.> : x) but hey : D I... should drop by IRC more and say hi to you before school starts .. again ... ;___; Dx"

"Late late >.< as always ~ : ( but that's what I get for being away for a while : xHm, honestly speaking, I preferred your other Sanji wall to this one, although I do agree with you that the scan is very very sexy < 3 The vector came out rather nicely, and I like the blue in his eyes and shirt, which pleasantly complement his yellow hair.
Keep it up, Eruanne : ) I still look forward to more ~"

It looks good, and do keep up the good work ~ : )"

": O A new wall from flyin' ~ x ] sweetness < 3Hehe, the thumbnail really does not do this piece justice at all :3 Full view is the sex < 3 The vector of the girl and bubbles look amazing < 3 In detail, all the layers of colours that provide the subtle yet attributing shadows and highlights add so much to the aesthetic appeal, it's orgasmic x333 - especially for someone like me who yields to details ;3 The lines are smooth and lovely in her hair and bone structure ~ vectorlicious ~~~ yum x ]

"^lol. I have quite a bit to say in response to that, but I shall reserve myself : >Hello ~ We never met formally, but it was quite interesting and pleasant being graced by your presence yesterday on the shoutbox : ) Like I said, I would get to commenting this wall; I just apologize that it took me a little while x );; but hey : P I'm here now, and here we go ~
The first thing that caught my eye when I first saw this wall was the colours < 3 Oh my gosh, I love them x ] and then I saw that the character was from the game, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, that Cy had just mentioned earlier that day, and I was like x D sweet ~!Bright, vibrant colours + white usually hurt my eyes and lend to my distaste towards a piece : s but with this wallpaper, I find them fun and exuberant ~!x3 I also love the textures/patterns you used instead of solid colours as well : D I think it looks smexy < 3
Great job, ravenrogue : ) Keep up the good work and don't let what certain people say about your work get you down ; P or stop you from continuing to try ~ I hope to see you around : )"

"Woa ~!You actually submitted it. Usually, whenever you ask me for suggestions on MSN or our secret IRC channel, you don't -actually- submit it until like... 3 years later?I already said a lot of what I'm going to say here to you on MSN.
Mmmm, good job : ) I'll drop by IRC soon - I promise < 3"

"I'm baaack :3 ... of course I would've liked to've been the first to comment this wall : < but within the hour, many already preceded me ~Woa, you really did a number with that scan, didn't you ~ The vector looks amazing, and I actually rather like the scan you chose.
It's beautiful; I love it < 3 I also really like the overlapping of the yellow colours in the background; I think that it was the effect that it emanated that made me think of water first when I looked at it ~
It's a gorgeous wall ~ < 3 The only little thing that I'd say I wasn't very fond of in this piece would have to be the character you added into the bottom right corner.

It looks like a penguin ^___^ < 3" and then when I took a closer look and downloaded the image, it ended up being a scary fat man with a creepy smile on his face ;___;'' I've obviously never seen or read D Gray-man, but this wall sparks some interest in me, and I think I might go pick it up now o_oOn to the wall ~

I also COMPLETELY and utterly disagree with the comment before mine : x To each his own ~ but don't be discouraged ^^ There are many of us who appreciate and prefer the simplicity and stark white ~"

"Oh dear ~ I have been so lazy @@;; Ever since I first saw this wall in the recent wallpapers list on the front page, I've been meaning to comment it but have utterly failed to do so ~Ahhh ~ This wall deserves so much more attention than it's gotten ;___; - what with the details you included like the posters, fonts, characters, and perspective, I was telling a friend that I'd've featured this wallpaper if I could : x

This is exceptional in comparison and much the opposite of a failure in my opinion ~Hm, as expected, I think my taking a strong liking to your latest three walls makes me an official fan, Eruanne : < This piece is beautiful, and I have to say I am rather fond of the style that you've implemented in your latest wallpapers - that is, the modest colours and the painted picture-esque/sepian atmospheric feel.
I really like this piece, as I've said ~ and this is magnificent work, so don't say you suck or that this is a failure : P because it's not : )
Keep it up, and you'll be sure to hear from me again > )"

Lily Hoshino: Thank you for smoking
1 year 5 months ago
I actually started watching Mushishi because of you and Candy-chan >.>;; but I digress] ~ : x) It's refreshing to see a unique idea that's been worked with and molded into a good wall in the midst of pages and pages of wallpapers that are basically just cut and pasted scans onto backgrounds - and don't get me wrong, many artists make it work very well - but it's just something that has always made me a fan of your work, Tama-chan ~ Hope to see you around : )"

Light the visions

"Well, this wall is a bit bright - I think that was the first thing I thought looking at this piece, but to be honest, I kind of like the light it gives off.Essentially speaking, this is a fairly simple wall.
Good job ~"

The me sitting here...

"So, I know I promised to leave a comment for this wallpaper, so here I am now ~ (My apologies; I know this is way overdue.) but hey, you're awesome : D (and yes, that is completely irrelevant since I don't.. actually know you...) Anyway ~ : xI've never watched One Piece myself; I'm not a big fan of extended anime series, but my sister has seen the show before, I believe ~ and I have to say, Sanji is looking ~smokin'~ in this piece.
I really enjoy your work, and the next time you come out with something new - if I catch sight of it - you can definitely expect another comment from me : ]"

"I still have to comment your last piece, which I will shortly... but I caught sight of this one, so I might as well first ~Like AtlantisPrince said, it does look like it's painted on wood, but looking at your previous piece and this one, I really like the style that you use in your wallpapers - the sepia-like colour theme and the textures. that you use that are simply beautiful and add to your walls very nicely.
Awesome work; it truly is very elegant ; ] I really like it, and with what I saw of "The me sitting here..." and this piece, I very much look forward to new walls by you in the future : ) Keep it up ~"

Amongst the Bodies

Keep it up, and I look forward to seeing new wallpapers from you in the future ~"

A Moment In Time

"The first thing I noticed when I first saw this wallpaper was the angle that the scene seemed to be shot from. I really like the perspective, and I applaud you for pulling that off, because I've always found that it's a difficult task ~ Of course, a good scan always helps, but I feel that an artist's execution is also key.It was a good extraction, and you did a great job cleaning the scan and filling in the missing spaces where there had been text and boxes.
Nice work ~ keep it up : )

"I've wanted to comment this wall for a little while now since I first caught sight of it, but I haven't really gotten a chance to until now. Even now, I'm somewhat forcing myself down and commenting everything that I wanted x );;Ah ~~~ well, to start, I've never seen Code Geass, but I like the scan you chose, which is saying quite a bit since it's hard for me to really ever appreciate female characters in that style of anime.
It's good work, and hopefully, I can look forward to seeing more by you in the future : )"

"Ah, the movie, Spirited Away, is absolutely fantastic ~ It's nice to see a good wall that's been inspired by it.As others have mentioned, the title matches the background, and I think it's perfectly fitting.
Keep up the good work ~"
