As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. "Hey, sorry for the late response. To be honest, I read your message when I didn't have much time, so I couldn't respond, then I forgot. But here I am now, ready to help! :-)
Okay, let's see here. The character looks great, extracted well. The only thing to work on is the background. That's the worst part for me. Yours is a little too bright for me. I really have to strain my eyes to make out definate shapes, because they are all so close to white. I can't really describe what your background should be, I can only suggest that you look for more brushes and remake the background for this several times, trying a bunch of different stuff. For a background like this, you really just get lucky. Try out a bunch of ideas that come to you, and they will. Browse other wallpapers to help inspire you. It almost always works.
Also, think about changing the font of your text.
