If a waller choose a range colors means that he/she want use these colors! Everyone has his own taste u.u
After that: I'm agree with you. The wall is nice but it needs something else. You should add some geometrical objects (triangles,circles...) colored with gradients and using transparency.

Cat's Eye was one of my fave anime when I was a child, and Rui is my second fave character of this TV shows (my first is Ai).
And you did a great job on it Angel-chan! Concept is perfect, and the city by night is cool :D
This wall is extremely rare, it's the only one on AP Cat's Eye gallery ^o^

About the image:
It's not a vector, it's a scan edited by me in few parts. I scanned it from an issue attached to the Italian dvd.
I cropped the girl, deleted texts over her left leg (so, I draw a bit her leg and foot) and added a grey background."
