"Uhm the lens flare effect at the top left corner is recognizable. You should always hide your steps in making wall. Even though the character images and the text did their best to fill the plain space in the bg, the background is too empty. It's just a blue shape. The text is too 3D and doesn't fit with the rest, because your characters are flat and 2d. The hexagons also stand out. Some basic features in ps rarely work out fine in practical. In the centre image, the character bodies are cut off, it doesn't look artistic. The shadow behind it make things worse. I feel like the image is about to fall out of the background. You should move the centre image down to hide the cut off part and get rid of the shadow.
Somehow I feel the images still have inadequate quality, maybe you can try your hand at vectroing them. And one more thing that you should think of it : your theme. The theme will somehow help you to make an unique wallpaper.

Talk about the brush, I see some blood at her left side O.o Blood doesn't have any relation with other elements here. The background still looks empty. If you take out the effect, there is nothing left besides the brushes and the scan. Moreover, the effect is nice but its recognizable.
By the way, why don't you try your hand at vector the bg ^^.
