Finally.. Rei in something other than a blue/dark background. You made nice use of the colors. Illuminating her in a light brown glow makes her really fit into the picture. The patterns on her back retains the image of "techie" since she is an EVA pilot after all.. same goes for the rei ayanami text.
I like it that there's substantial space for desktop icons and it wouldn't overlap the image too much.
