Perhaps she didn't really ruin it, but I sure as hell know that those black borders are spoiling it, and it looks like nothing really happened to the scan other than a levels and colour balance tweak. If I were to use that scan (I wouldn't) I'd make sure the walls on each side would extend so it doesn't look too empty.
Aren't you sure you're not being rude yourself by criticizing someone else's opinion, which as far as I can see is justified?

BTW, not only have I not made any wallpapers, I've also hit the leecher's limit. Just wanted to point that out before someone comes up and tries to be funny."

"Misato looks too blurry to look good. For me (and I guess most people here) to look any good there has to be crisp, sharp edges. Also the beveling on the shapes behind Misato looks 3D, but Misato herself looks 2D, thereby creating a jarring effect. There's too much text too, and please don't include that fugly red bar down there when you release it finally. Most people using Explorer as their shell can shrug it off, but users of alternate shells won't be able to use your paper then because the taskbar won't be at the bottom of the screen.

Other than that, rather good concept. I look forward to seeing this thing... in those flat vectored forms, at least."
