This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"I'm in love with this. Haven't quite figured out why exactly...but it just seems so fresh even though this style is already fairly common.

Kudos for breaking out of your walling block with such a nice one :)."

"Dang this style brings back memories! Love it.

Whenever I get pushed to the limit I just wall whatever I feel like walling (i.e. without giving a crap about what anyone else things ><)"

"Wow - I love the form! I'd get rid of the face though - as in the eyes + mouth etc, and make it purely about form (because that's just so gorgeous). I feel the facial expression really takes the focus away.

That's just my 2 cents. Best of luck!"

"Man, I really love your composition! The centered character might be a bit traditional, but I think it works for this piece.

I agree with Dioma - clouds and water were very well done. Though I think maybe you could've added more details where the chara stands in the water (i.e. ripples, shadow and reflection and such).

The text feels very intrusive here...maybe find a way to add it in a way that complements the wall instead of officially branding it you know? I'm a pro-signature/title on walls person, so I'm definitely not saying take them off, but I've found that it's a lot better when you allow the text to be a part of the wall instead of plain text.

Thanks for sharing! =)"

Odd adjective for me to use...but it fits XD. I agree the text works well.

I actually saw this scan before and was wondering how to wall it myself...but I never came up with anything. Glad to see you did!"

"I think the window was a good move, and I love the style you've used. Very asian-traditional.

Since you mentioned you were into depth...another the way the asian masters used to add depth to their 2D style paintings was to use high depth. You know those old Chinese paintings with really high mountains and smaller people/villages etc? Just something interesting to know if you haven't already heard of high depth, and decide to work with a flat scan again ^^. (There are also two other depth tricks to 2D painting, but I forgot those after my final exam in art history >_>)."

Imagine Me Without You~

"Mm...I wouldn't say it's nothing special.
It's definitely something I think you can improve on, but it really is a fantastic start. I love the contrast of the red and the almost ethereal character all garbed in white, and the movement of the whole form. The main thing left would probably be to work on the vectoring a bit more, and maybe try some smudging too.

Just some tips ~ hope they help in the future =). Thanks for sharing!"
