This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

ALSO, if you really want me to get down into it your lighting is all out of whack. DIffrent light sources doing diffrent things perhaps? And if they are diff. why are they all the highlighted white color. Anyway, i really like the idea and its looks pretty smooth :) Just some light error and a suggestion of texture use here :) GJ!

"Hmm, nice one otaku :) Nice scan used and good vector hehe. I just don't think that the amount of texture or type of texture works 100% well with the image. It just doesnt seem to be placed in a good situation, seems like a wall texture to me put onto like 35% opacity and/or multiply or overlay. But overall its pretty good :D Nice seeing you publishing new wallies, now i just gotta get out of LAZ-ie mode waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh
"Hey, i really like your wallpaper! but i have a suggestion that can make it look better and more realistic is just to simpily change the angles that your snowflakes are falling at. If you think about it, snowflakes would not be all facing towards the camera in a real photo, making i seem fake. its a quick easy 10min. fix and i think it would really improve it :) Otherwise I really like the quality of the image and the idea is great!

"Its a pretty cool concept and great attempt, but honestly I feel it needs a few more subtle things added to it. I understand its simplicity, but the simplicity to me is making its '3d' nature look VERY odd. Otherwise, great job dude I like the composition and vibrant colors its awesome seeing people manipulating scans so much, and by hand.

"Very nice job! You really combined these scans very well. Although I knew the scan was a shinkai scan the second i laid eyes on it hehe. And the giant beam going into the sky look all to familiar hehe. But you did a good job none the less, i think its a spectacular wallpaper with great detail.

"Yay aplastictree gj :). Dont tablets rock? Actually I have one tiney little thing to say tho. I think it would be better if the dots faded off. not transparently, but getting smaller you know? Rather than just Stopping then leaving everything else blank. perhaps adding some dot shading to the electrical socket too to balance things out.

ANYWAY. beleive it or not it was quite difficult to extract th original characters from the image hehe. But it was worth it after seeing Angrycats Darling Vectors. The colors are so vibrant and the composition of everything is just wondeful You also have a very good sense of depth perception.THe characters in the back are clearly in teh back and the character in the front is crisp and clear. :). FAV here. My only real complaint is the panty shot, i dont hate panty shots but in this case it really stands out and almost takes away something from the whole piece from me for some reason. :) GREAT JOB THO. FAV. and i would desktop it but i have a few people here who probly shouldnt see it hehe.
