After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! "This is a really nice wallpaper, and a great vector. I like how, unlike most people who vector, you put special attention into the black outlining, making them look smooth and bold. Everything works together very well but I gotta say that the textless version is much better. It would also be cool if you could put the original scan, just so we can compare.
"Hey this is seriously an awesome wallpaper and I can see that you have a lot of talent and vision! This is me taking a second to see what other things you have done, and I gotta say this one is totally impressive! I looked at it and thought it had to be a scan. Knowing that you took a bunch of different elements and put it together just baffles me. All of them work really well together.
I only have a couple of things I think I could nitpick on.
Firstly the focus of the image seems off. I think that the girl and boy should be higher and that there should be more ground between them and the bottom of the wallpaper. This would mean sacrificing a bit of the statue, or scaling the image of the statue and kids so that they are smaller and fit in the wallpaper. This would only be necessary by like, half an inch, but it'd make a huge difference because right now, my eye is being drawn down and to the right, which is kinda weird.
Secondly, the kids get kinda washed out into the whole image. It's hard to see them and there's not a lot of elements saying, "here look at me!" on those kids. I think the contrast needs to be more evident.

The scan is incomplete, the bubbles are cut off on the left and the flowers are cut off too. You tried to make the illusion of continuation by putting flower stamps on top left and bottom right. This wallpaper just looks sloppy and even if it is pretty (because of the colour choice and the scan itself is cute) the fact remains that no skill really went into this.
If you really want to contribute your artistic skills to the community then one main rule you have to remember about walling is that you are not just presenting a scan as it is and then adding colour to the bg. Any of us could easily do this and well...above all else, it just looks bad. We come to AP to find people who can take that incomplete scan, extend it, and then make it become a wider concept by filling the whole of the space in the dimensions of the wallpaper. That means developing a BG that becomes a part of the scan rather then filling in the blank spaces that the scan is too small to fill." View

"It looks pretty good actually. I only think that you need to make it look more like she is *in* the flowers rather than over. I know you did some overlapping on the hair and feet, but considering the angel of her head i think you need some overlap around her lower head (neck, ears) to make it look more like she is actually laying in the bed of flowers. The same can be said for her body. Just slight overlaps here and there will make it more like she wasn't just pasted on. I have a bit of qualms about how the flowers are so solid (vectored) and yet she is extracted. I think you should maybe try to paint the flowers more if you are unwilling to vector the girl, which personally i think would be a mistake because vectoring something that already looks good is pointless...

They look too clean to be in a scrapbook, and especially compared to the other "real" looking textures you use like the string flowers.
