This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.
You need papers to download scans, yes. However, you don't have to BUY them necessarily. Check the faq for more details... basically, just be active on the website and you'll be fine.
"I really hate to stunt any Sauinkoku Monogatari wallpaper, but this could use some work. The base idea of reflection is interesting - viewing people at two different times in their life. But there are more interesting ways of doing this.
Firstly if you use different images then it's much better to use the same type of image ie. anime to anime, manga to manga or vector to vector. Also you really need to extract the image(s) and do something with them like setting them against a background and adding brushwork/textures in addition to just text.
Try to set out your wallpaper a diffferent way ie. show different ages reflected in water or a shadow. There are some wonderful scenic places shown in the anime that would be great for this." View

"Wonderful contrast and I like Vincent just the way you have him, especially his cape. But somehow I don't think the circle and text are quite fitting. Perhaps try an additional larger circle that end up just beneath Vincents foot and maybe a greater gradient effect cloder towars the cape so the circles don't touch the cape but fade out. As for the text it might work better if Vincent is moved over a little further to the left and the text is insert in the space above your name but underneath Vincent's hand.
It might be interesting if the wall was cropped to just around the capes edges (1024x768) and to just under Vincent's right foot -yep chop off his left foot to make him really pop out of the wall. Or just try to make it appear that he's escaping the wall with a solid different colour underneath his left foot like he's stepping outside of the picture.

"I have to agree with iCouch over the background it's gorgeous but a tad bit too realistic and unaltered. But it adds a great atmosphere to the wall.
I've been told that shadows do not have black edges in front of a light source. Some extremely transparent gradient dark colour, around the edges of your character where his body interacts with the light would look great.
"This may be blunt but what exactly did you add to this wallpaper, the background, the text, the character, the blurring?
I think there needs to be something added from the author before it graduates from a scan/screenshot into a wallpaper. But if i'm wrong I apologise it just seems to be a familar complete picture without even your signature.
The blurring is definitely a problem, both the picture and the text is blurred. I don't think AP accepts wallpapers without signatures. " View

"The rainbow is really bright compared to the BG and the characters. If you really want the contrasting colours rainbow, fading the brightness of the colours into something similar to the characters colours maybe better.
The grey gradient BG is gorgeous and I also like the gray at the bottom of the wall. However while the white mountain maybe a screenshot, it doesn't clearly outline something (anything) and would probably add more to the wall by not being there. Try of grotto of fog trees That would look great against the characters colours, also a nice contrast. " View

"Just a few points:
1. Where is your focal point (where the eye is first drawn to) on this wall? It's probably suppost to be the shrine maiden, but my eye was first drawn to the planty green bit on the lower left hand side of the wall and then slipped around the rest of the colourful scenery to rest finally on the shrine maiden - and that was only on the preview thumb. Pick a feature of your wall and make it stand out, some methods for this are a central of bigger character, colour highlight or a difference in colour between the BG and the feature eg.where the character may be in bright colour with a single colour gradient BG.
2. In the full version the smudging (while gorgeous in the preview) looked very basic and perhaps should be faded or watermarked into the background more to make or character stand out more (as more solid or colourful) .
3. Then I noticed your shrine maiden is smudged almost beyond recognition (which is apparent in a smaller version). If your character is smaller then your prefered wallpaper size there are 3 choices: find a bigger scan, vector the character or match the wallpaper size to your scan; don't enlarge and blur it, it just reduces the quality of your wallpaper.

"Gorgeous! This has to be one of the best HYD wallies I've ever seen/found and even better it's from the manga! Excellent use of textures and the shadowing you used makes everything look that much more mangaesque (~_~ deliberate spelling).
"I think you need to focus your wall on one picture or a main focal point. Where do you want and what do you want people to first see when they look at your wallpaper? A main focal point or image grabs the viewers attention and then the viewer takes in the rest of your wallpaper.
Also the tips on the right side image needs a little extra extraction tweaking as I can see some white tips - but this is nothing major.
Your background doesn't really compliment your image, it seems too blurry and unrelated - but as I haven't seen the series/game I can't really be definite about that. Try something not scenic like patterns, text, grunge effects, simple gradients or something related to the background you originally found the image(s) on." View

Misatos legs also seem to fades in a wierd way, not at all the most obvious thing on the wall, but if the blurryness is cleaned up it could seem out of place.

"Very eyecatching -after all i'm here- and not bad at all. There are only a few small things i'd like to comment on.
1. The colour of the sky against the characters and building is -in my opinion- a bit dark and strong. The black on the characters is slighter lighter and off-black.
2. The text needs to be enlarged, moved, changed or all of the above. The text is simply too small and complicated for this wall, it needs a less decorative font -for ease of reading- at a slighly bigger size -also for ease of reading.
As for the placement perhaps the text alteration will fix this but somehow the text unbalances the wall. Perhaps if the text was split on two connected levels in a slightly higher position to the left it could balance the text with the wall." View

"Unfortunately I have to agree with Hofodomo01 about your background picture the filter effect you used could be better used somewhere else (somewhere not on this wall). If I can possibly take inspiration from a previously seen wallpaper (sorry no credit mention available it was years ago) the artist used a heavy glass type filter that defused the background picture to such a degree that a recognisable image was only viewable in the thumbnail, in actual size it looked just like textured colour. Maybe something similar could be great for your chosen background image.
Also the fading on the title(s) doesn't really work, it's good but I feel it could be improved, perhaps a pooling blood effect or a fading reflected shadow would better suit the dark mood of the wall - and the anime for that matter.

"This wallpaper is great! I'm so envious of you water technique. I just love your background everything just fits together and looks natural. The only slight criticism I have is that the character you used doesn't blend into your background (perhaps a texture match problem) and she looks slightly out of place. I think that I would love a version of this wall without the character in it - but then it would be an animewallpaper.
Lastly sadly I have to agree with gats last comment about your title. Your title does seems to present two different views, that she'll wait if it doesn't take a long time, and that she'll wait there for her entire life. Altering the title to just the second half would make more sense and fit the suit the mood of the wall.
