"I think that the border of the text "evangelion in black" is too intense. look at the shirts of the charas, they're supposed to be white, but in comparison with the border they look grey-ish. i'd also suggest changing the font. what is it? Times? maybe you could try another font, more decorative? 'cause to be honest, such basic fonts remind me amateur works :<
maybe you could change the shape of the stairs a little bit? so it wouldn't be so rectangular-like, i mean the edges. you could alter them a little bit, to make it more ragged.
as for the bg, i can see some patterns on both sides of the wallpaper. maybe some brush textures, oriental swirls ;P don't know. anyway i think it would look better if they were just a little bit brighter from the black bg.
these are just my suggestions, you can try them out or not. hope i helped somehow ^^

you used polygonal lasso tool, didn't you? i think that spoils the whole effect :( because it makes the guy look a little bit "geometrical". it would be better if there were more round shapes, nice curves. it would make him look more natural. yep yep

but i have one "but" ;P the frame of the photography is too blurred for me, the outer side i mean. the photo as well as the inner side of the frame look sharp. and in my opinion sharp objects don't usually match blurred ones ;P but it's my opinion, just a suggestion ;P

"It looks much better with the chara darker *nod*. but you know what? you could try making this sketch a more ... more... hmmmm... ink-like :P because the abstract part on the left looks like ink splatters and the boy is more sketchy-like. i think it would look better if you painted maybe his suit or hair with deep black... *thinks* i think it would work out. if not, i'm afraid i don't have any other ideas ;P

"For me the black "blob" looks fine. i like it :) i love playing with plenty of brushes, textures, splatters, stains etc. :D it makes this impression... of being untidy, but artistic at the same time :) you hit my taste ^w^
but utilael is right, you should make the chara on the right darker. try to turn up contrast a little bit. you know what i mean? because the main colour in this work is black, and this grey character simply stands out in the pic (and not in a positive way...). if you turn up the contrast i'm sure it will look great ;]

"I like the fact that you opposed those two charas and two colours. but what i really find disturbing in the pic is the pink part of the background. while the right part looks fantastic (a really great pattern by the way), the left on the contrary is very simple and... hmmm... "boring" (?). in general the wallpaper makes an impression of really well done, but this simple flowery PS brush spoils the whole effect. it feels like "amateur". yep, that's a good word. you know what i mean? some 3 or 4 strokes of a flower brush... "voila! done!". maybe you can make up something else to put in the background? think about it.
as for the rest, i works fine for me ;)

"I like it wallpaper :D! and i think that the wing's not too small at all. maybe it was your idea to leave it that way. personally i like it. it doesn't disturb me that it's not attached to the chara. for me nothing's wrong with the wing. the concept of leaving it drawn-like and not attached has sense. it's like an unwritten message that he might be not an angel in the pic (literary), but some kind of angel-like.
but there are two things i find disturbing.
1st: the whole paper seem so... "flat". how about adding some pattern? play with brushes a little bit... *just a suggestion*
2nd: and most disturbing :P the title in the wallpaper: "D.N.Angel". maybe you could use different font, one that is more suitable for the pic (e.g. feather-like font *is there such a thing at all XD?*)? draw some sketchy feathers around it? i'm not sure. but think about it :)
These are only my suggestions. if you have any other better ideas to improve the wallpaper, give it a try. Hope to see more from you:)

"If you want to keep the blending in the bg i suggest that you add more smalled elements to it (some of them sharp and some blurred). and don't only use multiple layer, but some other options like overlay or highlight. some brighter elements in the bg would be appreciated.
as for the character i would tone down his colours a little bit and play with the colour balance so he could match the background more. and you could find a picture with better quality, it would also look better.
and one more thing. don't make your signature so big and visible ;P it's better if you make it smaller and put it somewhere at the very bottom of the picture so it wouldn't disturb attention of the viewer. you want your work to be appreciated and not the signature, neh? ;)
good luck with your wallpaper. i'm hoping to see the improved version soon :)

"Very interesting idea with that blood stains. i like it, but somehow the pic of the character seems too blurred in comparison with the blood stains. maybe you could sharpen it a little?
in general, i like the paper :) add some minor corrections and try to submit to the gallery :) hope you succeed
