This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

The scan is well extracted, but almost looks a little pixely and it would have been nice to see it vectored, but it's still great with just the scan. The text looks good how you placed it. The composition is great. But it is a little dark. I think if it were lighter, it would make a great "story book" looking wallpaper. Maybe even work on the background texture since it is blurry and doesn't do much justice for the wallpaper as a whole. I think a paper texture (maybe a light brownish color) would suit it better ( Just throwing these out there for example). That would also help brighten it up. But that's just my opinion. Other than that, the characters are extracted well and the frames are nice how they are tied together. " View

"Cute wallpaper akiranyo! The vectoring is great and you did a nice job drawing in the girl's foot. I didn't even know it was drawn in until I looked at the original scan. Overall, it makes a good wallpaper, but I think you could add some effects to spruce up your characters and background. I like gradients (hehe), maybe you could try adding some because they give more depth. :) Also, there are a some jagged lines, so you could duplicate your outlines and blur it slightly. But it is already a solid wallpaper, I think you could make it even better if you add some effects. Nice work." View

"I think the background looks too much like a stock image. And the way the characters are positioned, it looks like they are on top of the black fence. The texture seems a little heavy, but everyone has their own personal preference on textures. I think if you vectored the background and positioned the characters so that they aren't on the fence, it could be a nice wallpaper. You did pick a good stock though and has potential." View

"I think the composition of this wallpaper is really good. And I think you have a great foundation of a wallpaper. But being chibi, I think everything should be sharp, clear, and stream-lined. That being said, some of the shapes appear to be slightly blurred or not made via the pen tool (brushing maybe?). The tree in particular, where the leaves meet the trunk, there is a little gap. Also, on the right side of the tree, there are some gaps where you can see the sky. The clouds are well done and have nice shape to them. However the shading on them, in my opinion, would be better vectored as well. And if you want to use a drop shadow behind them, keep it vectored. And I noticed that you can see your brush strokes on the center two clouds in the sky. For the grass, I would maybe consider making vector shapes out of those too. ._. It can be very abstract looking grass, but I think how it's blurry like it is now, doesn't really match.
I also see a random little pink cloud to the left of the character above the flowers. Is that a cloud? And if so, how come it's pink? :o
Other than that, I think it looks good. The flowers and butterfly are well done. But, some of the shading on the flowers don't touch the line art and form little gaps. I don't know if that is intentional or not, but possibly fill those in.
May I ask how you make your shapes and line art? I'm not familiar with GIMP, so I don't know what tools it has.

But I think you might want to consider downloading some Japanese fonts because the font you used for the Katakana name looks kind of like the Windows default font. With an old painting, something more calligraphic I think would look better. I have a few fonts that you could try if you want. "Sword Kanji Font" and "AoyagiKouzanFont2" You install them just as you would an English font. In Photoshop, they'll be near the bottom under your English fonts..

Riding on a shark? That's something you don't see everyday.. :o I think you did a great job on the vectoring. It's perfect. I think the background looks good too. This is just a suggestion, but what about a foamy trail or rippling water trail behind the shark that fades off in perspective. I think it would give it much move movement because I'm sure that shark is swimming pretty fast, he doesn't look so happy, even though he should be. ^^ The splash you vectored does look good though. Overall, I really like it. It's a great summer wallpaper with a nice happy mood to it.
