After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Rurouni Kenshin

1 year 7 months ago

"After watching the anime TV series, my opinion on it sort of changed, I did enjoy the plot, and it was very interesting, and touching.
From the original point I saw this series, and opinion I based on a few videos, and some episodes, I think I'll have to say it isn't that bad.
In fact the Shishio storyline was amazing, alot of luck for Kenshin, but still after that, it seems kind of loose the origin, and go off into more of a super hero like story, and adventure, still quite interesting, so for my previous opinion I'd say it's worth watching, and time for me to go finish watching it!"

When you're watching anime...

1 year 7 months ago

"Personal note while watching anime is;
I tend to see how the plot unveils through metaphors, foreshadowing, storytelling (how original it is, and how well paced it is). Does the story drag, does the animation seem low budget, making the characters move, but the rest of the world is like colored paper. Because that sets the mood, and if all you have is characters, then the setting kind of makes it a puppet show, and a major let down disappointment!
I try to analyze the anime, sometimes re-watch to see if I missed anything, look for references to the creators, and publishers relevant work, how it's ideal, and how it's original, and staying true to the manga, if I come across it.
More so I look for key points, and climax moments when the name of the series shines, and shows why it's named that, as well as what the author leaves as hints to the progress of the story, and how it's balanced with the aspects of; drama, romance, love, ecchi, fan service, and all other points you find in anime these days.
Too much of one thing is not good, we all know that, so I try to see if it ruins the anime in my opinion when I watch.

The one thing I try to look for the most is, how the story moves from key points in the plot, from beginning to end.
Will the ending be abrupt, or will all the clues, and hard work make it a well finished project.

I can't say I'm the best to judge in this subject, but those are the key things I see, and look at when I watch anime.

Most important, is originality!"

"If I'm correct that's where you keep a record of the anime / OVA's / anime movies you've watched?
If so, I think most sites including this one have it in some form, and can you explain a bit what; "MAL" is?
What's so significant about the list of anime kept there?"

The Ending

1 year 7 months ago

"To the original question, The Ending; "is it really important?"
I'd like to say yes indeed, no matter what the animation ends with, you will know that's the conclusion.
Sure it's hard for almost everyone to be satisfied with open endings, and cliff hangers for sequels to come, in fact as stated; when sequel is imminent you feel sad for the wait, but when it's out you're psyched to watch it.
For example Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, ended in a total cliff hanger, (won't spoil it for those whom haven't see it, but rest assured season two; Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 is out). Yes I did feel very disappointed, but if you talk about an ending here I am strongly supporting it.
You see I prefer an anime to be short rough 25 episodes, give or take. Then to come with a sequel, rather then await months for the next episode, and have it be a 100+ series, while watching re-runs, and bunch of talk on the fan forums of how long the wait is, what will come, and how angry they are to wait for the next episode.
The ending gives a conclusion, a final statement the creator / crew / production company wants to get across to the audience, to announce that now it's over, or for now it's over.
Be it in the case of Inu Yasha, that was an abrupt ending, which had a message in it; read the books (novels), and stay tuned for the movies.
No matter how you look at it, like someone mentioned; "Trigun", yes good anime, and a nice end to it, again read the manga.
We need an ending no matter what it is, because this way, even if we won't read the manga, or novels, we in our minds whom became fans of the series, and sought it through to the end, can have an open imagination of what will come.
I for one love that, no matter how sad the ending, or open it is, I'm glad most of the time it's not turning out into a Bleach or Naruto, where profit comes first, and makes a 200+ episode series.
I like for the ending to have some conclusion to the events, and of course to leave room for our imagination.
So to answer the question; YES ending is very important, and though we may not like them, or accept at first, there will be a few, and later others will come to terms with it, and be glad it's that way, and not constantly continuing by answering the question of what's next."

Berserk

1 year 7 months ago

"Well knowing the manga, and the anime you can't be really disappointed at the way it all came down to.
Seeing as how for example Inu-Yasha ended, Berserk was actually alright. I like Inu-Yasha better for the record :P
But I think the Berserk anime ending was in fact quite alright, it started, and ended the same way.
Finally no more of that annoying (kind of ODD, white haired leader)......by having him turn evil, and basically break all bonds with friends, comrades, and the woman he loved, and setting forth Berserk on a journey to slay the monsters, I think it came down to a very good end.
Sure who wouldn't want to see him in action versus the monsters, or wearing Berserk armor, but the anime seemed to be based on the plot before the demons, and it was well developed, and concluded.
It's a good anime, twisted ending, and a must see for horror fans.
Also the DVD outtakes, are more fun then I had imagined."

Burst Angel / Bakuretsu Tenshi

1 year 7 months ago

"I like that example, never really looked at it from an evangelion point of view.
I've always compared the anime more to Trigun, but a female version.
Sure there's action, a super woman with guns, in the future fighting evil, solving cases is good, and all.
But lacks a good plot, ending, and originality.
Probably without the mecha it would have been better. I mean it's like watching power rangers, or transformers, every time her robot is out for a run.
Very much improbable situations, even for a fantasy, and worst of all it actually had good music.
I'd rate it a 5, half way from a 10, only because of the music, and some great action scenes, and visuals, when rockets confront bullets, and more.
Otherwise I didn't even bother to see the anime through to the end, but skipped through it."

It seems grainy, and not so clear, also a but blurred on the outlines of characters. Maybe the vector wasn't well done?
The scan was simple, so the wallpaper will have to be extraordinary?
Well this looks nice, and the design is beautiful, keep at it, and I'm sure you'll do a good job!"

Rurouni Kenshin

1 year 7 months ago

"Rurouni Kenshin? Personal notice, this was a horrible imitation of the; Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X - 1st OVA (Tsuiokuhen, Trust & Betrayal).
The OVA was incredible, Kenshin's past, his struggles, and life choices made, falling in love, and having her warm his heart, followed by a betrayal.
The anger born from the little brother of the woman he loved, seeing her killed by Kenshin.

This gave forth to the other movie, and was also quite insane.
However no matter how beautiful the movies were, and they displayed alot more realistic, and more understandable struggles of Japan, and the legendary Kenshin.
But the anime went, and made it into another street fighter, and Dragon Ball Z...Calling out attacks, very poorly drawn art, the storyline which was simply ridiculous, and the ending where one kills all in an instant, where as Kenshin had to take the enemies out one by one, and had trouble?? Supernatural enemies?
This in my view was a horrible outlook, on the name of Rurouni Kenshin, and even the movie after wards was connected to the prequel I still liked that better then the anime.
I'm glad it was over, and not as popular.
This is definitely one of the series I don't recommend to anyone to watch after seeing the movies, for it will ruin your view of a very beautiful movie.
Drama, and historical influence in the movies was thrown out of the window in the anime.

No not a good one at all."

Which do you prefer? animes that leave you satisfied? or animes that leave you wanting more?

1 year 7 months ago

"Satisfied is what I prefer most of the time, with a dramatic ending.
Perfect example would be; Blood+, and Utawarerumono.
Why satisfied? Because you can enjoy it completely from beginning to end, good pace, nice development, and most of all you'll be able to grasp the story line well.

Sometimes I do wish to watch anime that leave you wanting more, yes that's also a good point, but there's a down side to it as well. Most of the time it's very open ended, and especially for short anime series like I like; 20-50 episodes, they don't develop anything until the last episode, where as you can say; "what in the world..."? A good example of a very abrupt ending I would say is; Inu Yasha... I really didn't expect it to end that way, but in a sense it's alright because now I'm searching for the novels.

So to be true I'm a bit 50/50 on this choice, for a satisfied ending wouldn't make you crave, and search more about it, where as one leaving you wanting more, will make you research, find the manga, novels, movies, and more in depth of the story line."

Anime disapointments

1 year 7 months ago

"Good point, but I do disagree with you on Azumanga Daioh, Cowboy Bebop, and a few others.
I personally couldn't stand watching them. Nor do I like the anime that's licensed by the USA.
I think also the anime series's plots are becoming very repetitive; ex- Male character a delinquent, a bunch of females like him, and he has to pick one after going through the arcs of the anime where he helps each one, even if he's never done it before.
Even more so Trigun / Bakuretsu Tenshi, a total gun rip off just a male / female versions.
Being a fan of anime for a while now, and seeing great anime get spoiled by; fillers like Bleach, and Naruto, when they start out well, but sold out for profit. 200+ as many already stated it's ridiculous, and having mindless episodes with talking drama, for the most of the duration.

Personal favorites would be in the list of Code Geass, Utawarerumono, and Higurashi.
At least somewhat of an original plot, interesting to follow.

But the latest ones are just ridiculous, yes the quality may be better, but the content is disappointing, and partially we the viewers are to blame for the high demand, and not giving much time for originality, and creativity."

[Anime Discussion] Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

1 year 7 months ago

"Season one of Higurashi was very confusing, I couldn't figure out what is going on, why are the children behaving so irrational, violent, and even more so, quite disturbing.
Also how is it after they die, in the next episode, they are alive, and life is all normal, no reminiscence, of the murders, and no one even mentions them.

At first I thought it's kind of an anime for kids, like nice funny characters, having odd plot, and childish events, until they began going insane.

After watching all of season one I was quite puzzled what exactly was going on, and why did 4-5 times everything revert back to normal??
I think it was a very well designed interest, and an opening for a second season, which put ALL of the pieces of the puzzle together.
However I do think that bringing a god into the series was a major No-no....Yes it was a nice plot support, and theory, but still I would like it to be a bit more realistic, at least, but no matter how you look at it it's impossible.

I do however dislike how the creators dragged the Satoko arc a bit too long, and then after all the hard work, it failed in one night. I think it was an unnecessary dragging development. Especially seeing how long it was dragged for, then next time Rika came back she had less time, and Satoko's problem is like non existent....

Well an overall I loved the series, it was great, drama, blood, horror, and thriller like no other.

Great plot, great story, and another open end, where I am clueless at what in the world it means, and how is it possible, and that's why I cannot wait for the next season.

Great anime, a 8/10, very bloody, and enjoyable to watch!
Must see for most, if not everyone.

Great topic, and I wish the movie wouldn't be a live action."

[Anime Chat] Lucky Star

"Is anyone else interested in the art that is being drawn by one of the characters, about the sister or Konata, and the green haired girl?
Seems like their friend is imagining quite the yuri relationships, and I wouldn't mind taking a look at how wild her mind runs.
Also I don't understand how come the teacher, and Konata, tend to see each other in games so many times, yet no matter what Konata nor the teacher would turn off the game to avoid one another?

Last but not least, the episode with their dead mother, was kind of weird or was it just me?
There seemed to be no real point to it, and added an even more random event to the whole series, which already was full of these odd situations, and moments which targeted either a specific audience, or just made no sense.

Anyone else see this as a pretty random series??"

Which Career Path would you Follow?

1 year 7 months ago

"What I would follow, is something to keep me alive, and able to support myself.
What I am following now is exactly that.
EMT- Emergency Medical Technician. Sure it's not the type of money making job out there, to have a wealthy life, but this way I can save lives, and make a living.
From then on it's onto Paramedic, a mode advance life saving measure, to be ALS - Advance Life Support.
They make double the EMT, and of course the work load is more demanding.
I would like a job where I can make money enough to consider all my wishes granted, but there's no such thing.
Also being out of the military I can't go to college full time, and study enough for a good carrier, nor do I have the will to.
So for now, a way to get by without problems, and have all the bills payed on time.
Then when I've saved up a little it's Paramedic, or college.
In college I would like to go into Nursing, and basically stick with the medical field.
Where medicine will be my path, and try to follow it as best I can.
To be able to know what's what, more about the human body, the effects of different drugs on it. How to save more lives, to have first hand experience in the emergency care.

I've done some work in the ER, and I have to hand it to those doctors, and nurses whom do a 12 hour shift, for 7 days a week, that motivated me, and seeing how they help countless patients, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic background, religion, or health insurance. I see it as a great benefit to the humanitarian need where as the rest of society is far worse.

Save lives - medical field, is my career path.
Good luck to all others in their choices!"

What would you do if you had Geass?

1 year 7 months ago

"This is kind of a very open topic, and seems that we not only choose what we would do, but also the power we were to have?

Well to shorten this span, I'll choose the power Lelouch has.
"My order is obsolete, and I can't use it twice on anyone."
Taking that into consideration, and the progress of mankind, how rapidly we are progressing towards the future, and what this future holds for this planet.
I'd have to come up with a plan, and that be;
Given I'm in the military already, that would be of help to get into presidential security, from then forth give the order to all in the way from me to the president.
By getting that far if possible, I'd have him launch all nukes, all all continents, to start a nuclear war, and impede the spread of mankind. Because in retaliation all other nations will launch their nukes.

On a more personal note, this power can be used for a while, and for personal pleasure, and gain.
So probably, this is a given, gain trustworthy allies, smart, reasonable, and build on it, until enough power is gained to go up against the democratic government of this nation, and build a new nation, and have power, after all it's what all the humans desire, and I would be a fool to say I'm different.
Then see what I can do, and what promises I can keep to the nation under me.

Ah so many ideas, so little time, and imagination can just run wild.
Geass, if I were to try, and interpret it;
G - Greatly.
E - Evolved.
A - Abilities.
S - Serving.
S - Species."

The End of Inuyasha anime - wha?

1 year 7 months ago

"From what I read, Inu Yasha was based on book which is currently 52 volumes in length.
Anime covers 1/4 of the Inu Yasha story, and the books cover 3/4 at the moment.

Seems there's alot more development into Sesshomaru, and Rin, as well as Inu Yasha's mother, whom supposedly is the gate keeper of hell?
Maybe a spoiler;

yes Sesshomaru does very much love Rin, and yes we do get to see him admit that he loves her... but he does not do so until after she dies. (She was murdered by his mother.)

He is devastated when his mother sends a Hell Hound to kill Rin. At first he thinks he can bring her back to life cause he did before, but than he finds out he can only bring a person back to life once, and he throws his sword away and leaves in despair proclaiming th that the sword is worth nothing to him, because he lost the only thing he loved.

Sesshomaru's mother, btw is never in the tv show, she is only in the book, she is the gate keeper to hell and she's pure evil. Sesshy-Mom hates Rin, because she says that dog demons eat humans and tells Sesshomaru he should have eaten Rin, he refuses to kill Rin, so Sesshy-Mom sends the Hell Hound to kill Rin instead. The Hell Hound takes Rin to Hell, Sesshy-Mom laughs cause there is no way for Sesshomaru to reach Rin, than enraged at his mother Sesshomaru uses his sword to rip open the gates of hell and go to hell to bring Rin back. When he finds her, she is already dead, which at first doesn't bother him, until he tries to revive her and can't.

On the next page we see Sesshomaru throw the sword, cursing it, saying that it was worthless, that nothing mattered to him now that Rin was gone. The picture shows him cradling Rin, with his face down, he is obviously crying in this picture. It's the only time we ever see Sesshomaru cry.

Sesshy-mom has watch the whole thing from her thrown over hell, and is shocked to see Sesshomaru break down like this. When she had Rin murdered, his mother didn't take into account how much Sesshomaru loved Rin. After Rin's death Sesshy-mom, felt guilty and couldn't bear to see her son so heartbroken, so she brought Rin back to life and gave her back to him, but when she did this she also told Sesshomaru that he had become just like his father.

Anyone here has stopped watching Bleach or Naruto?

1 year 7 months ago

"I would have to be in this category.
Bleach I've began watching late but seen almost all of it to the latest 120 plus.
Not including the fillers from 63 - 100 I think.
It started of on an odd note, then turned even better with a corruption, power hunger, and the will for the strong to become even stronger.
The plot was developing well, and the anime, and manga was making plenty of fans, and viewers, money was coming in, and profit was great.
That's when the directors decided to make fillers, and stray from the original story line, to make more episodes, releases, and profit.
When that happened my interest in this anime went out of the window.
No matter how much I wanted to see Ichigo fight all the Aranchar, the anime started showing about 5 minutes of a fight, and 15 of conversation, dragging, and dragging on, and on this was totally ridiculous, and I couldn't stand the soap opera like theme no more....

Next up is Naruto, basically following in Bleach's footsteps.
Begining episodes were amazing, the whole ninja concept, and the rookie striving for greatness, along with a team, doing missions, competing, and getting higher in rank was amazing.
Personally I wished this show would keep going.
Until again profit took over, and fillers came in, with odd missions, and so far from the manga, that until the 100 plus episode we had to wait for it to get back on track.
Then Came the new Shippuden, and change of art, fast in that matter, and right there I lost interest seeing as it dragged on like bleach, and seemed to be endless.

So I may be one of the few or the many, that have dropped watching these shows, and the worst reason is;
5 minutes action, and 15 minutes dialogs, JUST LIKE IN THE SOAP opera....

Also I am more of a fan for no more then 50 episodes per series, 20-25 is perfect, another season is fine, but not into the 200 or more."

Bringing back old shows ideas, and fight simulations, re-drawing it, and adding a new face to the concept of old, is alright, but I would very much so like a new idea all together, and by that I mean not from this anime.
The only thing I have from this anime is why was it taken to such an unrealistic extreme.
I can understand science fiction, and fantasy books, and many novels. There is a limit to how much you can imagine for the viewers to keep up with, and keep it interesting.

But for taking the fight in a galaxy where anything is possible WAS TOO MUCH. In my opinion."

Will Rukia and Ichigo get married ?

1 year 7 months ago

"This is probably never going to happen, it's a fan made couple, and most of all there seems nothing to be developing between the two, and nothing is visible in the near future.

Would be against the preference I have.

Also in many other series such an ending is out of the question.
Plus, she's not alive like Ichigo is. So this would be kind of questionable of how they are going to live.
Either one will have to make a sacrifice to leave their place of living."

Clannad TV OP + ED

"The OP + ED, are alot better in the special edition promo release for the series, I prefer that one alot better.

The youtube ones are not even close in quality, and you miss out alot of important scenes.
I think it's kind of odd if anyone noticed, that the opening is centered on season two, and not really season one.
If I'm not mistaken Okazaki's, and Nagisa's daughter was there. That's what made little to no sense what so ever.
The ending when I watched it for the first time caught me off guard, and I immediately shut it of.
I can't believe to an anime they would put such a childlike song. After more episodes I had the nerve to watch it, and boy was it not pleasant, lol. Not the best ending, not even close.
However they do seem to be unique, and something nice for the opening. "

A friend's brother was a massive fan, bought every CD, every video, everything Linkin Park related.
A couple of years after assembling a mass collection, he realized what he had done, and how foolish he was to waste that money.
But luck would have it, and he sold it all about three times the price he bought it at, because back then the band was very popular.

But let me ask you this; How much did you spend?
Was it worth it?
How often do you re-read them?
How long do these books last? Soft covers don't last long, loose value, and quality.
Do you plan to sell all that or, just a keepsake to look back at some time in the near future?
What got you to purchase all of these, and what in the world were you thinking?

I own some manga myself, but can't find it possible to re-read it, maybe once, that's all.

Clannad Anime Discussion

1 year 7 months ago

"I think you're a bit wrong there
ZeroXH

because the character development in Clannad wasn't too good.
Key divided the anime into sections (arcs) like the game.
So in one it was Tomoya helping Nagisa, then Tomoya helping Kotomi, then Tomoya helping Tomoyo, and in the end back to Nagisa.
While in Kotomi's arc you can see it the clearest, that the only character getting development was Okazaki. Even though you gather bits of Kotomi's past, still the only one undergoing significant change is Okazaki.
The same same for when he was helping Tomoyo, and how she affected his life, by waking him up, caring to cook for him, that changed him.
The sister's had no significant role, their stand point didn't change, sure they cried a bit, but that's all.
So this anime has only the character development for 2 out of the 7 main characters.
Very disappointing, also very similar to so many other anime series with; one guy being a delinquent, liked by many girls, he helps them, they fall for him, and in the end he chooses one, and THE END.

There is no simile to realism, here, only the same plot design you see today almost everywhere.

The anime itself wasn't bad, visuals (thus; Key VISUAL Arts) maybe proved it's name partially. But nothing really impressive."

manga versus anime

1 year 7 months ago

"Anime, is what I prefer.
Watching countless series, both bad, and good I've come to appreciate the visual alot more then pictures.
Yes anime is a bunch of pictures in motion, and with sound, but that's what makes it that much better.
Also anime doesn't take a month to come out with a new episode, like manga does. So it's less time to get, and then go be on your way.

THE only manga I've ever read, and reading now is;
Highschool of the Dead.
null
Incredible if I do say so myself, I came across a .png of it, and fell in love with the image. Looked around, found 10 chapters, downloaded, was stunned, found more, in HQ, and well now recommend it to anyone.
I will most likely start reading more manga now, and be a little more interested in it, since anime is becoming repetitive, but for the moment I have over 50 anime series, and only 1 manga series.

Either way Japan has it's influence roots deep within the population of the world.
Great job!"
