"I'm actually agreeing with mods on something.. dang.. i think it shoudl be lower than 30kb myself.. that is a heavy friggin avatar. there is no good reason to have an avatar over 10kb, and most of mine are less than 5kb. Backw hen i used to admin forums I would replace the offending avatar of any kind with one that had a cruel and sadistic message on it, then lock their account for a week. I never had a repeat offender.
If you wanted a 30kb and 100x100 avatar limit, you really should have just wrote it into the script to block anything over those requirements. Lots of people don't even bother to read guidelines, and plenty just ignore them if they can, so a voluntary file guide is pointless."

"Your first concern should be addressing the washed out color and grainy quality of the scans. They aren't bad, but in contrast to the fresh photoshopped background, they look kinda bland. Next, what was said about the squares is true... it just doesn't do that much for the image. You need to find something that compliments either the ideas, themes, or shapes in the main image. Blue works ok with the image, but that shade is a bit too light to fit in well. Try workign with the symbols and patches they have or going with the business theme."

"Hmm still no good. It looks really lazy and doesn't blend a bit.A photo-realistic or texture type background is going to look terrible with this image. You have a very clean image with bold smooth colors, almost a vector type look even. That background should compliment the smooth colors of the main image, and she shoudl actually look like she was cut out of her enviroment, not that she was slapped onto some picture. I would really recommend attepmting some vector work for this wall or trying to draw a photoshop background from scratch. The stock images and texture filters WILL NOT WORK but WILL LOOK STUPID for this image. "

There are several other alternatives on teh market that are cheaper, smaller, have mroe features, and hold more music. ipods (of all types) decent pieces of equipment, but they just aren't worth the inflated price apple charges. The only real reason to buy an ipod in my book is for peripheral compatibility. Since ipods are the most popular mp3 player, most manufacturers of other devices design exclusively for ipod connectivity, and it is really annoying."

Most depressing/sad anime?

"Champloo has a strange down factor to it- there are upbeat events, but the overall theme is really depressing. Grave of the fireflies has to be the most depressing animated thign I've ever seen- great movie with good historical elements. Chmploo is very historically accurate as well, minus the pop culture influences of course. I don't watch that much anime though, so I'm not the man to ask, haha. I did think Last Exile had a very bittersweet ending, btu I loved watching Alex kill Delphine :D"

"Heh, well. if you deposit anything over a few thousand into your bank account in cash, then the police are automatically notified and they do an investigation. It is actually law in most states that you have to report cash over a certain amount- if the police can't positively identify the owner, it is yours and they clear the serials for deposit. I'm not sure if i would turn it in or not.. it would be hard, but odds are, someone may die or lose their living if that money isn't found, so i'd probably turn it in. if i got to keep it? I'd go buy a Saleen S7 and a nice house."

"The reason debate is not to prove the opposing speaker wrong is that the opposing speaker will not fold BECAUSE it is a debate. Formal debates are held to inform those listenign and watching- that is the real value of debate. When people argue and debate, they go into a closed-mind mode for the most part and won't budge. Debate is to sway teh audience- this is why large debates are sponsored on college campuses and TV. Prove the opposing speaker wrong? sure- to the audience, but not convince the opposing speaker of anything."

"Naquarianna- that's exactly right. As said, people aren't completely selfless, so why work harder and if you don't get more out of it. Bottom line: people get lazy when hard work doesn't pay off. Capitalism is starting to have some real issues in modern culture however. Because of Conglomeration and corporate mergers, "legal" monopolies are persisting more and more. The standard of living in modernized countries has not changed much in the last 50 years for one reason: DEBT! The rich are richer than ever, and the poor are poorer than ever because of an artificial standard of living made possible by debt. If the average American had to own up to all their debts in one day, they would not only be bakrupt, but homeless. Meanwhile, the lenders and businesses keep amassing wealth. Many economists are predicting a major collapse of the US economy due to inflated prices and too much debt. The dollar buys far less than it did 20 years ago, but people are just as well off because of more debt, but they can't keep borrowing forever- it has to settle out eventually.
As far as the 40% federal tax on 6-digit incomes, it would be very unfair IF most of the rich actually paid that much tax. The reality is that the vast majority of the wealthy in the upper tax brackets are related to corporations and businesses. Why is this impportant you ask? Well, have you ever taken a good chunk of time to analyze how easy it is to hide money and profits in a business? Do you know how many tax deductions are available for businesses, and how many loopholes there are in avoiding many of the taxes? Did you knwo that large corporations employ entire divisions of accountants just to manipulate numbers and work around tax laws all year long? Buisiness owners, executives, and the like often don't have standard paycheck- their money is stirred in with investments, propery, company resources, etc. What many companies do is invest all their gains and income into a new project or something in November or December, so that the income doesn't show as liquid assets and gains- this gets around paying a hefty amount of taxes. I could go on but this is getting boring enough. Point is, the richer you are, the more ways there are to hide your wealth and avoid paying taxes. The reality is that such things usually end up with the very rich paying less taxes percentage wise than middle income families, which pay around 30% of their income in taxes. As a student earnign less than $20k a year, i pay 19.8% of my income to taxes. Do you know how big of a deal $3,500 is when you are only making about $16,000 a year?"

When I was in middle school, My best friend and I pretended to be Joseph Stalin and Vladmir Lennin for the whole year when we talked to each other and wrote in our class journals. We covered out binders in Communist icons and drew hammer and sickles on our notes. it was hilarious. The teachers were worried. in all reality, it's a nice idea, but it doesn't work because of human nature."

Final Fantasy : Advent Children!

"The graphics were amazing, and the effects and music were all great. The story however, was horrible. Even if you are familiar with the game, the storyline was still really confusing and not put togather very well at all. The movie was more like a really long CG'd fancy fight scene. This would have crashed and burned worse than spirits within in US theaters cause fo the story sucking so bad. It was fun to watch for the graphics though."
