This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Meaning of Youe name

baldric

My name's baldric, I never seen someone who had the same name. I'm not sure but I think it means strong and brave ^^. It's vizigot origins.

Well, a baldric is a belt used to hold a sword, so that's not too farfetched a guess.
My name is Matt - gift from above

Spunnist.exe a virus?

1 year 6 months ago

" you mean spuninst.exe ?

No, it is not a virus, it's part of the windows operating system

Spyware.net database on this file says it is safe.

What it is is a service pack uninstaller. Windows Update will from time to time install service packs, and each one comes with it's own spuninst.exe in case you need to uninstall it for any reason. I take it you have view hidden files on, since you are seeing the files that begin with a dollar sign. :P

"Description: When using an apostrophe in a favorite it inserts it as the escape character \' for an apostrophe, then when I leave the page, all the information is deleted for some reason

To Reproduce: Enter "Whatever I'm in the mood for" (without quotes those might also cause escape character problems though...) into the wallpaper style field, and then go to your userpage and notice that everything (related to favorites) is gone

Now go back to your profile to edit them and they are gone there as well."

Obscure music groups

1 year 6 months ago

" I like a band that has variety. I don't like bands that are like (we're a rock band) or (we're gangsta rappaz) :P Gorillaz for example, they have quite a bit of variety on their music, some sound like classic rock, and then they have an oldskool rap style song, and then style mixing songs. Sepeche Mode is good too, they do different beats, my favorite song is But Not Tonight by Depeche Mode. And then yeah obscure bands are always good. I like Nightwish, Josie and the Pussycats (songs by the animated band, not the cartoon), The Cardigans, Garbage, and I also like J-Pop. Mostly 60s, 70s, 80s, and j-pop and j-oldies. "

Arina Tanemura

Rozen Maiden isn't by Arina Tanemura... O_o It's by Peach-Pit.

Anywayyy the only things by her I've read/watched fully are FMWS and KKJ, both at the top of my list, both made me cry for hours. Like honestly,
!!SPOILER!!!

The episode where Mitsuki found out Eichi was dead and she was laying on his grave crying made me BAWL. But then again I'm an oversensitive person.

Arina Tanemura is definitely one of my favorite manga artists, and her stories are very diverse... she likes to explore genres instead of repeating the same ol' thing.

You know there is a spoiler tag that you can use..."

" Well originally it was because it's my favorite manga/anime character from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. but in the computer field whcih I work in, it means the time it takes for a request for data (i.e. typing in http://animepaper.net in your address bar) and the time for the data to be retrieved and received (The webpage is completely loaded)"

Go back and read the donation page...

Yeah, I'm just a dork and didn't pay attention to the "benefits" I just donated a while back, but anyways I donated again after reading the benefits (and yes I know I already have them) but it sounds like Bantam needs some monetary assistance, so I donated $18

You need to provide your paypal transaction number to Bantam via a PM. There is presently delays in the processing of donations as discussed here.

Donor status entitles you to unlimited wallpaper downloads.

It does? I didn't know that... I thought it just gave you the donor ranking, I didn't know there were perks? Is that all or is there more??
Then again, I did donate at pretty much the same time as registering, so I probably just didn't notice any changes since I've always been a donor :P

American Manga is it the real deal?

1 year 6 months ago

"
otteryst
So. I love Manga. But not all the manga I read is Japanese, then again I love comic books so ... that's why I love American Manga too, but some people who read manga only read the stuff if it comes from Japan. Do you only read Japanese made manga? If so, why? Do you read Non-Japanese Manga (By this I mean, comics made in America or anywhere else other than Japan for that matter, done in the manga inspired style)? Which ones, and why?

Me, I love Ninja High School, when it's drawn by Ben Dunn. That's made here in Texas, in a Japanese style and it always pays homages to Japanese manga LOL and it's funny too. And now and then Gold Digger by Fred Perry which is also manga like and from America. I think they're both uber cool but their creators aren't Japanese, but I still consider them manga. So what do you guys think, and read of non-Japanese manga?

Does it read in right to left format? if not, it isn't manga in my opinion. Also for some reason i'll read manga if it's an american artist only if it's a female artist, for some reason even if it's American it still feels like manga, though personally I have only read manga from japan, specifically Yuzo Takada and Arina Tanemura. SO I have no clue what I'm talking about, so ignore this post..."

5 Centimeters Per Second - Need help with this one! [UPDATED]

1 year 6 months ago

" Blur the edges pretty much, there is a filter for it, Can't remember what it's called though, it a strange w... Just hit me.. Vignette. Vignette it with something like cyan. I don't know exaclty how it'll look vignetted, blurring the edges may work better.

It's kind of like a centralized focus, the edges of your site are blurred.

And BTW, that burned paper effect as you call it, I didn't know it was a burned paper effect until I read your comment (I look first ask questions second :P) and I was just like "What's these three blotchy black lines on this wallie"

Snapshot *lightbulb* I have seen these other walls where it's looking at a desk and then there's stuff like this encased in little polaroids, or picture frames or such, but from what I hear they are very hard to do properly."

5 Centimeters Per Second - Need help with this one! [UPDATED]

1 year 7 months ago

" The text needs some styling, it looks just like default text, something to spice that up a little bit, perhaps add a ruler behind the 5 centimeters part that shows only 5 centimeters or something of that nature. do something with the text in my opinion. Perhaps add a filter around the edges, it reminds me of a dream, add something that makes it seem like a dream around the edges. Note these are just suggestions

EDIT: OUpon looking at the last in the list of links, something is really strange about it, I like the detailed one better, the phone lines in the last one are confusing me.
