This should help i think ,or at least i hope-and about the "contagious disease" part of the title,you really no longer should consider HIV a taboo-i'm assuming that you did not want to scare people but i believe this was pretty insidious.

"Well,you might disagree but it was never really good-i mean most cartoons mentioned when you think about were pretty mediocre themselves-and yeah this includes Dragon Ball and Gundam.Of course,when you are a kid,the battles,the cool robots are just great,but try sitting and watching any of those now and you'll see what i mean.Of course,you'll probably see the social critics that you failed to notice then,but then most animes have them at least a little and more or less put in a humorous way...
I also disagree with this opinion on Full Metal Alchemist-if you try to watch it objectively(that is without the influence of all the critics blogs and other anime-related papers),it is as cliched as any other anime.Of course alchemy and bionic arms are cool but Death Note and Trinity Blood are at least as good.Which also means that FMA can be as bad as both of them.They probably are less satisfying but that's futile...unless you are a kid or think as one.
Now,there is this complete misconception(i'm trying to remain decent) about cartoons being worse this days.Before saying stuff like that,try to watch more of them and believe me you'll be amazed...Something as brilliant as the Boondocks could not have been made a while ago so try to think some more before posting...Of course,i could list a few dozen shows that are as brilliant and remarkably unknown but i won't bother...Google...
But to come back to the CN debate,it does suck now(and imo always has)but that is not because cartoons are not as good now but that they simply do not broadcast the right ones-just as all the other cartoon channels i have do(wish i were japanese sometimes)-and you're just not able to truly estimate the quality of the decent ones(i say decent).Also,try to consider the average age of the audience and the time at which the cartoons are broadcast and i'm sure you'll no longer have to watch stuff like Ben10(which i did once a sunday morning and which almost caused me a cerebral attack). "

Anime of 2007? Whats good?

"I would recommend two new animes:Moyashimon and Ghost Hound.
Moyashimon (i am assuming you never heard of it) is about a guy that sees and talks to germs-he moved to Tokyo to study agriculture and well no-one believes him and he's out to prove it...Sounds weird but it's original and is a collaboration of two masters:Yano Yuuichirou,director of Uninhabited Planet Survive and Takahashi Natsuko ,screenwriter of Bleach and School Rumble...

And Ghost Hound is about a kid whose been traumatised by a kidnapping during which his sister was killed(accidentally though as far as i can see)and he's narcoleptic and a whiz.He records summaries of his dreams(he always has the same actually) which evolve every time.There are also a few really good characters and the setting and animation are wonderful(imo).It also seems that there'll be a paranormal twist to the story and well,it's from the guys that did Serial Experiments Lain and that in itself is promising..."

"Well since i am gay,i suppose there simply is no definite way to distinguish between a gay and a heterosexual unless there is some sexual relationship involved.If i take myself as an example,i was on the school track team and flirted with (though it probably was them flirting with me) quite a few women and if it did not come to the simple (because it really is simple) sexual preference,I would look and pretty much act the same as any heterosexual,unless homophobia is an assumed attitude.And when it comes to Dumbledore,the guy is an old rector and the book (which i think is really lame) which is primarily destined to kids (yeah it is and i don't care if you disagree) would picture him having a sexual affair with some other male.Also Rowling herself said that the books contained a lot of Christian allegories and even though the church used to kill witches,we all know (or at least i hope so) that witches do not exist.But homosexuality does and it is still disapproved of by the Vatican and maybe picturing homosexual relationships would have decreased or at least affected the sales of the books.And now this "threat" is gone.
P.S:I am stressing on this but the books are really lame..."

"I think that this is one of the lamest anime i have ever watched-if you consider the story as a whole,it is just so predictable that it could make you sleep.As for the characters,there is not a single one that is truly likable and the Lelouch-Suzaku relationship is so cliched , it is almost pathetic.But of course,it's in a high school and there are some cool powers and mechas and some fan service,though not much(thankfully),and both of the main characters are martyrs and heroes in the making and of course they are young so some or most pubescent males pretty much identify themselves in them,or at least would like to...Now this is surprising(unpleasantly) and deceiving from members of the team that produced Planetes which is a wonderful anime and from an all-female character design crew.It just shows how people tend to choose facility and how sad it can turn out to be..."

"Though D-Gray man just seems to follow the classic shonen storyline,it stands out due to its goth nature-and also,where Bleach tries to put on some kind of deus ex machina,D-Gray man kills off characters.Of course,it is far from finished but it's a quite decent manga and maybe people should try to read it before assuming it is like Full metal alchemist blended with Bleach which is an absurdity...Full metal alchemist is definitely a reference and Bleach is one of the most enjoyable manga out there with characters where only bad guys get killed and difficult battles end in draws until some all wonderfully interfere and kicks the a** of the adversary but D_Gray deserves some attention.The anime is awful though..."

"I've watched Al Gore's movie and as far as i am concerned,it seems to me that all that is said(except for some humor from Al Gore himself and his definitely inappropriate voice)in it has been said by various scientists for as far as i can remember being concerned with global warming.The Nobel Peace Prize went to an international community of scientists who have been working on the effects and solutions for global warming but adding Al Gore to that is seems to be an insidious way of publicly disapproving of the Bush administration and this in regards of the upcoming elections and so I would say that Al Gore is not very legitimate for being a Nobel Prize winner.I would also like to add that originally what Nobel himself wanted was the prize to be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"-but this is another debate..."

"When an anime is licensed,it basically means that a distributor buys the copyright.For that to be economically viable,and due to the international copyright laws,fansubs which provide a free distribution are obviously stopped-if not,then releasing a DVD would of course be stupid as the eventual buyers would simply download it...An as for claymore being one of the best anime this year-read the manga and realise how lame it really is-the character development is awful and the plot is totally denatured..."

"It is an interesting manga but this is probably only due to the main character and her history.I also very much enjoy the art.But if this is removed,it is a "disguised" harem but this time the guy is definitely already in love with one of the females...In spite of this,it is quite addictive in my opinion and even though what i have written might not seem very laudatory,i would recommend it to everyone simply to support the effort(could not find a more appropriate term) of breaking a taboo and to speak of sexual abuse on kids or adolescents and this by members of the same family..."

"I also expected Nia to die.But i guess the melodrama of her disappearing when she has just got married to Simon was slightly off.There was probably a more appropriate way to put it.Simon's disappearance was pretty predictable after Nia's death but i had expected some kind of epic quest to unite all the newly discovered people and what happened(to evade spoiling more) sort of disappointed me...But overall it is a decent anime..."

"Punk rock really no longer exists.It used to carry political messages and quite a nihilistic view of society and I bet that most of people who listen and enjoy listening to Blink 182 have no idea what nihilism is-I'd just say that it is the basis of punk culture(or subculture for that matter) and that it is obviously absent from the lyrics of Blink 182(if you can still call them lyrics) as well as any other ideology for that matter.Blink 182 probably only uses this status(i wonder who attributed it) as marketing.And that the prepubescent kids that listen to their music are simply trying to be punks-this is sad as it seems that would only mean weird hair,piercings,tattoos and listening to what we call pop punk,which is a joke.But then i guess none of them would enjoy music from Sex Pistols...So please when mentioning punk rock,forget Green day,Blink 182,Sum 41,etc..."
