"Being up all night is like a part of my lifestyle. It's either i'm sleepless because of schoolwork, sleepless because of jobs I have to finish, sleepless because of wanting to watch and finish a certain anime title in one go, sleepless because of playing video games and so on.For normal things mentions above, a 30-40 hours worth of loss sleep is SOP for me, but there was one time when I really got myself in trouble with work (I was part-time and was a working student) that I had to spend the rest of the week without sleep, thinking and working on the problem at hand. By the time I finished, I slept for a whole day and had the greatest Headache ever in my career as a working student. "

"Lol I dont go about preaching about it but I don't deny it either. I accept that some people like it and others do. I appreciate anything that works so I dont discriminate (atleast I think I dont) in thing much like whether animation is a good medium for telling a great story or not. In fact, some stories can only be delivered with animation as medium. A select few has actually brought me to tears. And even a greater few, got a small space in my heart (The Melancholy of haruhi Suzumiya, LuckyStar, ROD). If people think I'm a nerd because I watch anime then that's their problem, they dont feed me so I dont care much about what they think of me. My parents (who feeds me) are okay with it, and my siblings watch it too. Most of my friends love anime too so I dont feel detached in life at all (I admit I sometimes feel that I'm the odd one in a non-anime loving group) but I always end up finding one or two people interested in anime whether we watched the same anime or have different sets of likes in terms of genre. If we both like an anime, we discus it, if we have contradicting views we debate. If there is an anime we liked and others have not watched it yet I recommend. Thats how it goes with those that I know who also love anime. If they don't, then I'll just shut my trap if their not interested. :3 In the end everythings OK so long as I get to be myself."View

"I got hooked on only one Online game, Ragnarok, and now I'm a part of the beta test of Ragnarok 2. In terms of gaming addiction other than online games, yes, yes, and yes. I am a huge console gaming addict (although lately things have been slow in my life) although I expect to get back on the fast track after I graduate college. I like video games with a great story, basically RPG's though I don't limit myself to them. I play for the story, the challenge and the occasional bragging rights among peers. Although it has been difficult to balance my anime life, my game life, my model kit life, and my real life."View

"Right now, I need the internet. without realizing it, I've already developed a life-style that seems dependent on it. I'm not saying I can't live without it, but things will be different and difficult if I did. Ever since I got a dedicated internet connection I was able to get things that I need (A Majority for entertainment purposes) through the web. If I would like to know something I just browse for it, reading a few sources to check if they are true, since I am aware that not all things found in the internet is real. If I can but things from the internet then I do it, anime items for example (figurines, resin kits, gundam kits, DVD's and manga) and video games I order them through the net. I am still not working yet so I can say that I devote 80% of my life downloading things off the internet (mostly anime's), when I get a job I expect it'll be reduced but I woudnt say I will totally be off the web. With my degree in IT I'll still be working with the web even in work. so yeah, I'll be with the internet for a long time.P.S. I can still game on my
PC whenever things slow down in my life."

"When I'm writing something that I really put my mind into writing I check it. But if it was just a reply like this one, chances are I wouldn't bother. It is very common to see grammatical errors in internet talks and the like like chats and forums and even in online games. Ahahaha, It is always a priority in the internet that you just get your point across, if you got away with it while using a wrong grammar or a typo then the majority doesnt really care :3 I'm even more bothered by the single quotes than my spelling like in "doesnt", I Dont Know if its just me but I rarely bother putting the single quote to make "Doesn't"."View

"My lifestyle involves something like "I want to be doing something everytime" so I list things I should do and whenever I can, I do the stuff that I can do all at the same time. with that said, If my to-do list happens to be a very busy one (for example I got really really busy with school these past few months) so I ended up moving my ANIME's TO WATCH list further below the priorities lists. I have gone as long as 3 months I think without Anime because of that, I just recently finish watching Boso Renkin and is currently watching Ghost hunt so my Non-Anime life ended a few weeks ago. That was my longest in this current lifetime record of not doing anything involving anime. and yes, I blame school for that."View

"I am the eldest of three siblings in my family. The youngest still hasnt got the sense to appreciate a wide range of anime genre's, he currently only focuses on child orientd anime's such as Crush gear, Beyblade and such but he's getting there. The Middle child, my younger sister, also watches anime now, if I like something that she watches I'll watch with her, If she finds something I watch that she likes then she watches it too. So it's safe to say that we, as siblings watches anime. My parents dont like em though."View
Exam Results Failed: Your Reactions?

"I fail often in exams, quizzes and such, but I recently experienced failing a subject... it was the first for me... it was really disappointing. I failed my thesis and now I have to retake it. I feel so awful and the thought of retaking it feels so horrible, I coudnt concentrate in anything that I'm doing anymore, If worse comes to worst I'll just end up failing again and then I'll really have to aither commit suicide or live a hermit life."View
math=hard or easy??

"Math is hard for me T_T even simple daily calculations are hard like changes in fare.It's not that I'm dumb (which I know I'm not!) It's just that I am not interested.
My brain really doesn't function for it, and if I try to make my brain do the math I feel dizzy and bored and to a greater extent, sleepy.
But when I felt the need for it I was able to have a good performance in a certain math class. Here's the story: During our Prelims in a certain math oriented class I got a 0.0 as a prelim grade (that's bad) when my parent found out about it I got really scared in thoughts that I might actually flunk that math-oriented class. With this as my driving force, the Mid-term ended with me having a grade of 3.5 (around the 90's I believe) That was an all time high in my mathematical career! after doing some more math: There are three periods, prelims, midterms and finals, flunk 2 out of three and you fail automatically, I got 0.0 in prelims and 3.5 in midterms, by finals I only needed to get a 1.0 ( a passing grade) to pass the subject. When I felt that I'm once again in the safe zone, my performance also dropped. In the end, I got a finals grade of 1.0 and my total average was also around the 1.0-1.75 mark. In total, (And I do not think it is something to be proud of) I believe my math-oriented classes all had a 1.0-1.75 average.
So in the end, I say Math is not hard, it's just that most people don't like doing them. It's not hard, they (including me) just don't want to use their brains that way."

Are anime addicts nerds?

"As an anime fan ourselves (why else would we be here), we enjoy watching anime just as much as a tennis player enjoys playing tennis. Its quite hard to explain but only when something rises above from the degree that you can label as "ENOUGH" can it be classified as occult-like devotion. I dont have anything against cosplayers but to use them as an example, if people view putting on colorful clothes and looking like an anime character as a hobby turned obsession then that's the time when the general public labels them with names. People call them names like Otaku's, nerds, geeks etc.With that said, If I'll take what people think of me into consideration, I say i'm an Otaku. But a professor at a university that is obsessed with ancient literature is then labeled by the general Public as either a Genius (An expert in Ancient Literature rather) or a Geek. And that tennis player is then labelled as an expert tennis player or a tennis fanatic.
Anime addicts are only called nerds the same way a person who loves reading books a bookworm.
I say anime addicts should view themselves in the same respect as a person who is an expert in a certain field. But it is hard because there are a lot of negative things people say about an Otaku.
