"It depends on the anime, I'd say.If they manage to get the whole story told and don't leave you confused with lots of questions and unaccomplished desires (xD), I think it's okay if it's short. Even the anime which have only 13 eps can be good - they just have to have a good storyline.
I loved FMA, but sometimes it's also annoying to have to watch so many eps to know how it ends.
Don't know, I personally don't like predefining things like that^^"

"I had to laugh when I read the title :D because that was just that, what the father of a good friend of mine said some time ago^^ (don't get this wrong, please, I'm not laughing at you ^_^)because she watched an anime and he isn't into it at all - so once he said "Well, our TV doesn't run either if they show "The Simpsons"..."
I'd definitely say: NO, they're not. (It'd be horrible if they were ">.>) I don't think anyone ever tried to classify them as anime, because they sure are not... I mean, just the land doesn't define the type of show^^"

Why people says "Anime is for only children"?

"Well, I don't know if I can speak for all countrys in the world, but...Here in Germany we have ONE "official" Anime-channel. The only problem is that they often show Anime like Pokémon, Digimon, Detetctive Conan etc. If they show other things, they always cut out the bloody and/or "perverted" parts and sometimes censor the dialogues. I don't know if anybody has heard of what they did to the Naruto series, but I can say, it's horrible. You don't get to see the tiniest bit of blood, even if it's that little you actually wouldn't even notice it. Often they cut out so much you don't know what's actually going on anymore.
So adults see them as either childish or confusing. That's one point.
The other one is that many people, that don't gather information about Anime because they're not into cartoons or whatever, get the idea that Anime is quite the same as stupid things like... let's say Spongebob Squarepants *ignores the evil glares*
...or maybe even extremer concerning all the "strange" methods to express emotions and many other things. Liiike this:

The only difference to these people is that Anime is "Japanese crap" and that the style in which they're drawn is quite different from the styles western cartoons use. So they classify them as more or less mere cartoons. The problem is that most of the cartoons in the western countrys are either outstanding stupid and foolish or they're for children. At least they're "nothing grown-ups are supposed to deal with".
Therefore, they don't even try watching Anime because they are "cartoons". And because they don't get a different view that way, they classify them as something tops children should be watching, as they know it from most of the western cartoons.
That's how I discovered it to be - maybe it's something different for someone else, I don't know^^"

Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: Conqueror of Shambala

"I think it's a marvelous movie.The story may not be very imaginative, but the way it's told is simply great. The charas are just as likeable as in the series.
I can't really say why, but I just could continue watching it over and over again.
What I also like is that, like in almost every other Anime-movie, the movements are worked out much better and more accurate than in the series. Also they used computer-animation in some parts, which I also found an interesting idea.
What I didn't like, or actaully hated, was the ending. It's pissing me off just by thinking about it. Not because it's lame or something, just because it's extremely unsatisfying and sad. The only thing I could think after watching the movie was "Ed, you're an asshole..."
The idea including Hitler and the Nazis 10 years before they actually "appeared" is, let's say, strange and a little volitional, one of the really few things I didn't quite like.
All in all I still love it. I just hoped for a happy/happier end and didn't get one xD"

"If my boyfriend didn't like anime I wouldn't let that be my problem.Everyone is free to have their own opinion. Maybe I'd try to convince him, but I wouldn't force him or anything. But I also wouldnt let him force me to stop watching anime. If he tried to do so, I'd maybe threaten him with the breakup. But I don't think I'd fall in love with a bossy guy that thinks he's allowed or able to change my opinions and/or likings.
So I guess I'd either manage to not make him watch anime and wouldn't talk to him about it or I'd beg him to reconsider his mind again^^ Something like that^^
Love may be worth many things but in my opinion it's not worth giving up other things you like... that's the reason why I'd break up, not because to me anime is worthier than love, but because I wouldn't someone let change parts of my life just because I've got other opinions than them."

I'm a girl, 14 years old, in 8th grade and German (so sry if my English seems to be a little weird sometimes^^")
Don't know if that's important, it's not in my opinion, but I'll say it anyway; I'm a Leo in zodiac. And before anyone asks, no, I do not know which blood type I have.
Um, what else... well, I guess I don't need to say I love Anime and Manga, that supposably goes for everyone on this site^^ I'm quite average I guess; I like music, drawing, writing, reading and to make wallpapers/other things with Photoshop^^ And the dear WWW of course ;D
Oh, and I'm pretty interested in languages. What I want to learn for sure are Japanese and Italian^^ And I hope someday I'll be able to at least speak those two languages and English more or less perfectly ^_^
I suppose I won't be in this forum too often. Why? Because I'm in so many forums now, often I don't want to go through all of them. Additionally, I'm always unsure of my English being correct and I don't like being wrong ">.>
