After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"It's not the first one, I already mentioned that. It's a Loveless (already existing anime/manga title) fan art. So the art itself can't be hosted here, it's established, cause it's not original work and she's an unknown artist. But what about the wallpaper? I have her permission to use that little bit of her fan art/doujinshi in it. And also, the drawing isn't the only thing I used to make the wallpaper, it also includes other drawings I took from the scans gallery here."View

"The whole wallpaper? Because we are still talking about the wallpaper, which uses just a frame of the fanmade doujinshi, the rest are scans from the gallery here. We've so far established that the artist whose creation I used can't be in the Artist's Alley with her work which leaves the issue of the wallpaper itself to sort out. It isn't based on original work (I failed to mention), but an anime series already in existence, namely Loveless. Here is the wallpaper so you know what I'm talking about. The drawing in the upper right corner is the one fanmade (the coloring was my doing), the others were extracted from scans posted on this site. "View

"That's the problem. She doesn't have any published works(she's not a professional). I found it on deviantart. It's just a one page doujinshi. I asked for permission to use it and she said it would be okay as long as I credit her. So if she's not a pro and it's not mine, I'm not allowed to use it even if I have permission from the artist? Creating a category for one piece of work also seems pointless or doesn't it? Especially since its one other people probably won't upload to given she's an unknown. "View

"I made this wallpaper using scans and a frame from a fanmade doujinshi. I specified the source and gave the author credit(added the link to the drawing too), but the wallpaper got rejected because of it. I looked up the issue on the wallpaper facts page, but it didn't address it directly. It only spoke of either fan art you made yourself or that was made by highly skilled artists (both of fan art or doujinshi). Should I speak to the author and request that she let me upload it here on the Artist's Alley? But given she's not a renown artist, could I even do that? Given there are categories for artists too. I didn't see it being specified anywhere that I couldn't use fan art either. What should I do? I'd change the drawing I used, but the reason I used it to begin with was because there was no "official" picture that fit the bill."View
