This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

How do you choose your manga?

1 year 2 months ago

"Sometimes, I go by the suggestions of fellow manga readers, or I browse around book/comic stores, reading the backs of first volumes and flipping through the pages. At other times, my interest is piqued by the...ads, if you will, at the very end of certain titles I already enjoy."

Buying manga

1 year 2 months ago

"I've only recently begun to buy my own manga now that I've found a place relatively nearby where I can get my favorite series. It all really depends on how much money I have available to me. Honestly, if I could be a bit more versatile with my money, I'd get bundles at a time; two or three volumes of anything I'm familiar with, and just pick up a few new titles for lolz, and then some. ._."

How do you prefer to watch anime?

1 year 8 months ago

"I currently lack cable so my perfered method of anime watching is either torrents or YouTube. When it comes to dubs or subs, I generally do not care, but will lean towards the one that appeals to me most with each individual series I watch."

Doujinshi

1 year 8 months ago

"I love doujinshi for the sole reason that it allows me to enjoy a lot of my favorite fandoms through several unique styles of drawing. So much so, that I'm rarely bothered by more explicit doujinshi, or non-canon pairings (as can be found in ANY aspect of a fandom ._.). Sadly, though, I cannot read kanji and usually miss out on usually good storyline. "

Is anime that much better than manga?

1 year 8 months ago

"My tastes are interchangeable; I tend to lean more towards manga when I know its corresponding anime lacks a lot of the original plotline, when I like the manga's art better, or both. Either way, I still enjoy seeing the characters given a voice and movement, almost literally brought to life through your television screen, which is what anime has to offer."

JRock / JPop / Enka

1 year 11 months ago

"Eh. It depends. I can like a song from almost any genre, this including J-Pop and J-Rock. It all depends on the music and what the lyrics eventually turn out to be. Most of my J-Pop/Rock has come mostly from anime (with the exception of Utada Hikaru's Kingdom Hearts singles)."

Best Shinigami On Bleach

1 year 11 months ago

"
Lightsmith
Zaraki has a Shikai it is like Ichigo's and always out, then mentioned it somewhere in the anime but i forget which episode. although i read that it is rumored that he learned it some time but i am just repeatign what i read.

It'd be wrong to assume that Kenpachi has Shikai, seeing as shinigami are required to know the names of their zanpakutou in order for that to happen (despite his sheer strength, even Ichigo hadn't achieved Shikai before he knew Zengetsu's name). I do remember a comment of Kenpachi's which might be a bit misleading; he actually says something along the lines of his zanpakutou having no releases at all, that all he had to do was simply increase the strength of his swings...but I digress. The point is I believe there hasn't been a direct implication of Kenpachi's achieving any release stage in both the manga and/or anime.

Moving along...

It's really hard to choose one 'best' shinigami, judging from the fact that the shinigami introduced to us and that we see frequently are all rather great characters in their own right. Despite this, I'll go in on those shinigami that I've favored.

Kuchiki Rukia: I just adore her. Throughout the Bleach series (both anime and manga) I've grown to respect Rukia, not just as a shinigami with formidable power (to those keeping up with the manga), but also as one of the leading characters. She holds many redeeming qualities, such as her selflessness and courage, yet as any character with depth she also has her quirks.

Matsumoto Rangiku: This is a shinigami who I can make many varying comments about whenever I see her; she can be hilarious one second and completely badass the next. She knows when to slack off and when to get down to business. Rangiku can even be a listener in a time of need and then offer the words that you just need to hear (in reference to a certain manga chapter containing a specific moment).

Shihouin Yoruichi: What's not to love? She's powerful, intelligent, and truly badass in her own right. She has a rather important role as a supporting character, and as a catalyst in the growth (at least physically) of many other characters...if that isn't at all redundant. >_>

Kuchiki Byakuya: 'Cause I don't just favor the female shinigami. There really isn't a reason as thought out as the others, but a fangirl must indulge. Furthermore, I just have a spot for pretty boy nobility that for some reason I can't help. -Cough-

All in all, though, it's hard not to love all of the shinigami, be they there just for comical relief or to kick some serious ass. :D"

"I did try to get rid of the white, but sadly that is part of the outline which comes in the original image. It was part of how it was drawn, apparently. Had I removed it, it would have most certain looked worse. The colors dulling out as it gets farther from the character's faces was done on purpose with lighting.

Anyhow, I'll take your feedback into consideration and see what I can do, thank you. <3 emoticon"

What grinds your gears?

2 years 6 months ago

"Hypocrites. You know, the kind of f---ers that go around moaning and compalining about a certain something they claim to be against and yet do said certain something, knowingly or not; grinds my gears into oblivion. This, and of course painfully blatant ignorance. Another thing would be the way certain individuals are, in a word, fake. Meaning, that not only are they unbelieveably shallow, but they carry around a label of society like a f---ing banner, as if they can fool themselves and others into believing that that is who they really are. Unfortuneately, I have met a person with such a personality and we never did get along well.

Minor pet peeves of mine are ones such as:

1. A continuance of the calling of my name.
2. The way certain people have a tendency of getting my attention by constantly tapping on the shoulder.
3. When someone leaves an empty container of juice, soda, etc, inside the fridge and I stumble upon it while thirsty.
4. Teachers who are self-proclaimed "hard", and believe they can treat students like juvinilles merely because they've been teaching for an x amount of years.
5. Sardines.

To name a few..."

Where do we go when we die?

2 years 6 months ago

"My beliefs on life after death tend to be...odd, to say the least. For one, my beliefs in my religion have waned over time and I've adapted a certain belief of my own. While, I do believe in an afterlife and ghosts, I can't really say religion has much to do with it.

Sure, faith has set a guide to how we should live in order to achieve spiritual peace. Yet, the main reason why people believe in Heaven or Hell is because we are afraid of ceasing to exist. Which, when one thinks about it, is quite resonable. Something as life seems too great to simply end, just like that. We, as humans need security about what happens to us when we die, I believe, hence the afterlife altogether.

With me, it's just to live life while you still got it. Stick to your beliefs, if they make you feel better and hope for the best when the end finally comes. The only judgment comes from the people themselves, and how they would weigh their own actions at the end of the day. At the risk of sounding like a feel-good card: Every moment is precious, to waste too much time thinking of things we need not worry ourselves about can sometimes get in the way of knowing that."

Are Grades that Important??

2 years 6 months ago

"I believe it's a little bit of both. One needs to take the benefit of a class and actually learn what it is the teacher has to pass on, while attempting to pass said class with a significant grade. Yet, when you think about it, to do one is to pretty much do the other. If one can pay attention for the sake of learning, they will be doing all that is required to recieve and adequate grade.

If I had to choose why I'd take a class (if I had any choice in the matter), it'd have to be for more of the learning experience, though. Being that I am confident in my academic knowledge (should I apply myself >_>), there really isn't much I'd gather from simply concentrating on a passing grade."

Who would you die for?

2 years 6 months ago

"To die for another person, loved one or not, is a very hard descision to make, in my opinion. I would much rather attempt to take whatever action I could to remove myself and the person I cared for out of danger's way, than to jump infront of a bullet when I still have my life to live. This belief may change as I grow older, but for now it pretty much stays the same. To keep a rational mind in life or death situations can sometimes be more wise than to think with your gut."

wolfs rain

2 years 6 months ago

"My first glance of Wolfs Rain had been through the Adult Swim trailers, it had caught my attention but I could never find myself sitting through the half hour to watch it. I had either forgotten, or had decided to watch something else at it's usual time slot so I did end up missing a good chunk of the series. Yet, despite the fact that I had only seen the last...six episodes or so, I still enjoyed what little of the storyline I had caught up with. In the end, I had ended up loving the character of Cheza and the entire theme of 'searching for paradise'. Not only is it something I found to be unique, but it is also something one can relate to the real world. How many people do not aspire for a perfect happiness?

I'd have to agre that the ending was somewhat dissapointing, but merely because of the happenings of that final episode more than anything else; I was nearly brought to tears, and that is something that does not happen often; I'd definately recommend giving this anime a shot."
