What is a good lie?

"Well I believe there's no good or bad lie
because they'll also be a plus and a consequence. Heck, a police officer is allow to lie if it means catching the bad guy and proving someone innocent. I rarely lie but I will lie to protect myself in certain situations.

I live with a certain family member who has changed my life over a span of 7 years of my childhood ruining me because he just didn't know better. That person honestly didn't think he/she was doing anything wrong because she/he is too ignorant to know what he/she says half the time. You can't constantly keep dealing with "how wrong you did and how wrong you are" and "How right I am, look at my achievements, I'm you're older family, you listen to me." for 5+ hours. It's going to ruin somebody or make them kind of "disturbed". I can't keep going down hill with my emotions so I will lie to her/him if I know it's going to lead up to that.

Sure, it's the cowards way or the devils way to get out, but you have to know where it's the time to protect yourself too. Although I won't try to protect others by lying, the lie resource should only be for yourself and have no other people involved. I don't want to get someone else in trouble. "

What is the purpose of a video game?

"I agree with the majority. It's really just for entertainment!
Why do we make board games? For the same reason but that usually falls under family fun, while a video game is just like Marysonnie said about it being "Self-directed entertainment."

But there can be more than one reason to play video games. A good chunk of games are also educational purposes. But really in the end of it all, it kinda HAS to be entertaining or else we won't want to play it. Our main reason why we pick up the controller is to have fun or to get lost in that world."

Food

"Oh joys! Something on food! 8D I like almost anything that I eat. (Blood pudding would have to be the only exception to what I don't like... yes, that stuff actually exists!) But to narrow it down, my favorite food would fall in the fruit category. I just like anything that refreshing but also juicy and maybe a little bit tangy too! I do like sweet things too but I'm not a major fan of candy sweets or anything too sweet. Like figs or really sweet (old) bananas or even milk chocolate.

But I can't stick to just fruits (and veggies) I need something to offset it. Like meat, and I mean real meat. Mince Meat FTW!

Hmm.. now if I were to actually list some food...

oranges/tangerines/clementines, carrots, any mince meat, any sea food and the extra of escargots! ;'D (Gotta love d'em snails!)"

What's your take on killing animals?

"Well as long as you use the entire animal (or close to it) like the Indians do. They eat them, make weapons out of them and give them prayer to the next life. I eat hamburgers and I eat steak. As much as I don't like to have an animal killed, just like a lion will hunt the others for their family, it's a necessity... to eat protein. I know there are substitutes out there, I'm honestly not a picky eater either but I just don't think that pills or soya, beans or tofu will do the job.

I guess I'm more concerned for the respect for the animals. We don't allow cruelty on animals nor are we pro for puppy mills but people who will kill animals just for the sport or as a trophy or even just to be cruel... well then that's something.

I don't know.. Think of insects and mice that are breed for science! Their fate is cruel but it's for a good cause."

Looks or personality?

How can you spend the rest of your life with someone you can't get a long with or you just don't like? Looks plus that is just a bonus. But even if you fall in love with someone who looks fugly you really won't care! Or at least I wouldn't care
I don't know, I've notice that personality shines so much better than looks. There's a girl at my school who looks pretty but she's really... not that good of a person. The whole school considers her ugly. Strangely enough they say she looks ugly. Everyone who first meets her say she's pretty until they get to know her.
It's an ugly example (no pun intended) but that's how well a personality will shine. It's like... "The inner soul-" takes control!

So... I guess really... "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet." and that everyone is truly a blank canvas with an "avatar" body in this world!

I don't know what any of you guys look like (I haven't even checked the "post your sexy self" topic) but you all are pretty cool guys and gals!

Besides... TRUE BEAUTY IS WHAT IS ON THE INSIDE! NOT THE OUTSIDE!"

Are video games corrupting your fragile mind?

"It really depends on the person but as Erineth said before, "kids should play according to their age" because I think you really need to have matured to understand the game.
Like how some younger kids will preform stunts they see in the game that REALLY shouldn't be tried. Heck, it's not just games, it's the same with EVERY media!

And also I think younger audience member don't appreciate the more mature games as well, mainly because I think it's harder for them to understand and also how they think. I mean, kids seam to be attracted to the forbidden fruit because it perks their curiocity- actually...
now I'm just getting off topic...

But video games (and basically every other media in the world) have a subliminal effect. For younger audience members; they're still growing and learning and are more easily persuaded because... well they need to learn that.

I remember when I was younger I did some stupid things and I thought they were either the right thing or it was OK. I know now that they weren't!

Last thing to add on: Because these youngsters are still learning, that where the parents/guardian should take charge. These guys should already be trying to protect them from drugs and other bad things, dealing with what is appropriate to their child is already in the job! this includes the gaming world, not just what is on TV... Heck, if anything, gaming is more powerful because of the interaction!

Really, It's more concerned for the younger audience. "Kids are our future.""

Believe in ghosts?

"I personally don't really believe in them, but mom says we have them living in our basement. I sleep down there all the time (especially during summer) and I'm personally OK, but it seams my guests get...moved around in their sleep? We don't tell them that "there's a ghost in the basement" But when they end up at the foot of the stairs they had suspicions and left the next day!

Other people say my basement is evil and then I do think the owner who was last owned this house... I think her hubby died in this house.

Oh, I do remember trying to put out a fire outside the fire pit, and I figured the large amount of water I hosed it down with would kill the rest of the fire but when I looked outside, it seamed to have roared back to life and then I saw a girl in her pajamas's (looked about 18+) standing next to the fire. She didn't stay for long, I'm pretty sure she saw me, because when I went outside she wasn't there.

Higurashi Good Anime!

"I really loved the series as I was watching it!
My favorite character would have to be Maebara Keiichi, not because he's voiced by my favorite Japanese Voice actor and that he can scream (so can Rena, gosh she scared me at the very beginning!) but his character is pretty funny! "You can just call me... 'K'!" *sha-shin~*
But the story was very interesting! I was always trying to figure it out and I never did figure it out correctly in the end, but I was fairly close!
The second season was pretty good and when you find out these things it was just like "HO- I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!"

I haven't watched Umineko no Naku Koro ni, I'm kinda thinking about but if it's very super similar in that kind of way, I might just delay it..."

Yeah, the nose and suit are something that was bugging me a tad... I should just completely re-do that part. As for the suit, I need to go and study a suit a little, I'm not even that sure if I'm drawing it right...

Oh, but you make a good point to say that the eyes are a little too far apart, That's how I normally would draw them ("distance apart" wise) I'll be sure to make that correction soon!
Darn that golden eye! XD I'll have to continue to exam that part myself, I seam to be blind to that mistake I've made but not entirely! (I kinda see it)

Yeah, i wanted to go dark under his eyes, to give the feel like bagsk, but even I'm a tad dissatisfy of how it came out... (I'm trying to save that)
Add lighter colors? Good point to bring up, I paint over the darker colors but when I go back I only really focus on the shadow area... I'll try to see what I can do!

"Well I'm trying to work more in Photoshop and I started to work on a piece that might have been a little more than what I could had handled... So I took a part of the picture I had already worked on and just fixed the chest area a little and I thought I'd share it so maybe I can get some critique along with some nice comments (please).

Is it a must for a woman to get married?

"Bah, marriage is really just an "official tie" in my opinion.
You can fall in love and stay with that person until the rest of your life and not get married! I mean.. marriage just seams to be dating with some kind of bonus benefits?
I mean, just look at Gene Simmons! He's not married but he loves his kids and his girlfriend and they all live together!... Might be a bad example considering he's a guy and we're talking about women getting married... but it should be the same.

I don't even think it's necessary to get married, as long as people love each other. But as for the 30 age mark thinking they're cursed... I think that's more of a fertility issue. I think most women want kids and you can still have kids when you're in your 40s but I guess people think that "Oh no, I won't be able to have kids when I'm ollld~"
I know when my mom was younger, she wanted to have 30 kids (and I don't mean when she was a kid.)

I think in my society, people are more hooked on having children. Heck, back when our province was first created, it was a law to get married as soon as possible and have many kids. "

Is it possible to fall in love with an anime character?

"I've actually herd there was a case where there was a guy who was like "We should be able to marry anime characters..." ... like... legally marry an anime character... even if you can't really pull them out of a TV. (I personally don't see how that can work...)

It's very possible that's just obsession but it's not impossible that you can fall in love with a character that doesn't exist (in reality).
Actually falling in love... really we're usually attracted to someone by personality or by what qualities someone has (like good looks or amazing cook.)
Even if you know it's not real, there could be a person like that in the world and you've just found your type? Or is it really considered a crush? Perhaps even a neutral base of your "check list"? Or maybe it's really just idolizing in a way... maybe it's even hope for love?

I actually don't think it's possible to go as far as falling in love. Maybe just falling for the qualities and faults but not the character it's self. I mean the personality is scripted and is used by people's imaginations and usually follows some kind of cliche. I know I'm a fan for silly cliche.
But yeah... it's scripted. Which means you can script their reaction or response too, no matter how well you know the character that you can get their responses, reactions and everything down to the point, it's easy to manipulate words and reactions. I should know, I can do that. We ALL can do that, even by mistake. Give plenty of compliments and that can easily be turned into a kind of insult.
THAT IS WHY I DO NOT THINK we go to the extent of "falling in love with the character."

"Wow, 2 stars died yesterday, both of them being the greats.
Man, It's hard to believe that Micheal is dead. I almost wish he'd... turn into a car and drive from heaven and be like ... "I'm not dead!" and start dancing like he did in Thriller.

*sigh*... I'll miss the Dancing Pop King... It's true, he did die very young. He's only 4 years older than my mom and dad. Well king of pop... may you Rest in peace. Although his body is gone, his soul (or music) will live on.

"My friends don't care if it's a comic book or a manga or just a chapter book. They all love a good story! And I sure know that they adored Death Note!
But another plus to that is that they like anime so I believed it was an automatic to like mangas xD
I think people who don't like anime for whatever reason will just automatically hate mangas. Like almost every single person in this 1 history class wrote hate messages and how some person's anime doodle sucked and stuff and doodled (well defaced it) all over it. I actually thought it was a pretty good level of anime drawing there! o_O

Sorry, I'm getting off topic. But my friends are awesome people who think that manga is awesome and enjoy reading it whenever a new book(manga) comes to the libary :')"

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

"So I don't know if you guy herd but apparently the remake of the 2 pokemon 2nd generation games (Gold and Silver) have been confirmed! They'll be called "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" and I believe they said they said the game would be ready for around fall 2009! There's no estimated price yet but that's not why I brought up the subject.

Has anyone been keeping an eye on this before? Did you spot the foreshadow of this happening? (I might have not been done on purpose but a few months ago there was a poster released with the 2nd gen starter pokemon on it.) Is anyone excited about the remake?
Come on guys, tell me what you're thinking! I personally LOVED the 2nd game and I still play it on my GameBoy Color. I don't own a DS (which is the system it's going to be released for) but I just itching to see this remake!"

I know... that's why I said it depends on the kind of person you are (or really how the person thinks.) I'm an artist and I've found really only one of my works ripped on other sites (But there's no profit gain, nor are they taking credit or giving credit so I didn't care) and one time we( a friend and me) found some of her(my friend's) works too. She was still offended but still said "I find it disgusting that this person erased my name and put their own name in replacement but I'm a little flattered he'd take me work ^^;" But we are all different people. I wasn't meaning that the ripper was trying to be flatering i meant the other way around.

"As long as the original creator of the piece approves of this and (in this case) is not using their piece to gain a profit it should be alright. But how many people actually do that? I don't believe it's a lot... It sucks to see people rip and plagiarize things that either don't belong to them or wasn't their creation. It's like being violated when that happens (or flattering depending on the way you think)

The only real thing we can do is to inform the creator of the wallpaper and the creator will do whatever he/she wants."
