Darker than Black second season confirmed

"I knew after the ending of the 1st season, they will not leave hanging like that it is. (My hunch was confirmed with the leaked info about sequel of Darker than Black last year). Months before, they released teasers and revealed new characters for the second installment. My impression was BONES had dropped the ball since the make Suou as the main character and Hei sort like Kira Yamato in SEED Destiny. Darker than Black would become a shoujo anime. But, I reserve my criticism until they premier it.

When they finally premier the first episode, it was going to be some sort shoujo storyline. Suou life a normal high school student with issues that are common with the girl at her age; friends, love and trivial things. With addition that her twin brother now a contractor, she was still a dreamer. At mid series, her life completely turned 180 degrees. Her best friend was now awaken, FSB, CIA and MI6 wants to get their hands on Shion and his unknown powers and she wake up in the gritty reality of world Contractor. I was wow and the series has potential to keep in par with the predecessor or better surpass it. And, Contractors keep on dying like flies on each episode. I AM liking it.

As usual, OP serve as a teaser of whats to come. I never thought

"The idea of Gundams taking on alien beings (as been indicated in the epilogue of the end of Season 2) is not a promising prospect. It might work on audience that only recently exposed to the Gundam universe but might shunned away and angered the ol' skool hardcore fans. It's uncharted territory and I'm afraid it would turn out something else if the producer drop the ball.

Anyway, let's how it goes because it's too early to criticized the idea. We have to wait another 1 1/2 years before it being release in home video format.

"Meh, if the producers go for that, it would be a double edge sword for them.

I can accept Aeolia reason for simulated armed intervention to unite world to advance themselves into space exploration and colonization (sort like Char's dropping Axis towards Earth to create nuclear winter, thus forcing the Earth citizen to become spacenoid and evolve into NewType) but to prepare the human to dialogue with the extraterrestrial beings telepathically?! Now, that's sounded too Trekkie for my taste even though the original Gundam is Japanese version of Earth-bound Star Trek at that time. Oh, well at least they made it interesting.

So, Aeolia has predicted and anticipated that human can evolve into a True Innovator when he/she is exposed to the GN Particle emission from the Twin GN Drive. Therefore, he'd embedded a string of code in the original GN Drives that will release the full potential of the Twin GN Drive in Trans-Am Burst mode. This event will be trigger when the human is fully evolved into an Innovator (in this case Setsuna). The Trans-Am Burst release the unique GN Particle that link human thoughts and feelings in one union and able to communicate to each other telepathically. Also, they can communicate with the deceased. I think the reason why Lyle can hear Anew voice because her consciousness trapped inside the unique GN Particle before her demise. I reckon the Celestial Being asteroid fortress works as an amplifier to spread the unique GN Particle on Earth.

Anyway, Lyle manage to finished what his brother have started and avenge the death of his family. Kujoh has found her love and Sergei finally realize what he had done and feels regret.

I'm not surprise when Ribbons took down the Seraphim and reveal his mobile suit/armor for the final showdown with Setsuna. The remaining Innovators will gang up with Ribbons to destroy Setsuna for good.

This will be an entertaining finale. "

"GN Drive (T) Trans-Am powered Gaga Kamikaze squad? I think the producer got the idea from watching Gurren-Lagann because the scene reminds me of the Hands and Feets variant Anti-Spiral overwhelming the Gurren-Lagann squad. I think Ribbons manage to make at least 1 or 2 clones of himself since he invested most of the resource to clone of Bring Stability/Divine Nova , prep the GN Drive (T) to power the main beam canon and for the Gaga suit (the name itself make me laugh). Not to mention rebuilding the destroyed Arche Gundam and mass built both the kamikaze suit and the Automaton with the help of Billy (not surprise there).

The Celestial Being is never been in tight spot like this even though they are now not alone with the Federation and the Katharon lending their hand with the onslaught. Everyone has their hands full; Lyle having hard time with Ali, Tieria got owned by the last two Innovators since they had upgrade their GN Drive (T) but proceed to secure the Veda, Plotemaios crew overwhelmed by onslaught of Gagas and breach of Automatons and Allelujah in the verge of losing Marie. I think things look grim for Kujoh as she encounters Billy as behind him are Automatons, ready to eradicate the whole crew. Whatever the outcome, it would be tragic.

I hope I was right of Graham switching side and Setsuna will do something to stop this madness.

If Lyle manage to finish off what his brother started, the final duel would be Setsuna against Ribbons and maybe Graham if he's want his death wish really bad. Else, it would most anticipate duel that fans longing for; Setsuna against Ali. For me, I don't care as long they don't drop the ball."

A bit stale but looks like Kati and Federation renegades are joining the fight with Celestial Being and Katharon to defeat the A-LAWS and the innovators. Maybe after the African Tower incident, she had question A-LAWS rules of engagement, deserted and joined the anti-Federation force. I wonder what happen to Billy; I bet he still with the A-LAWS and trying to crush the Celestial Being. I wouldn't be surprise if Ribbons suddenly pops out and subdue Regena since he make multiple clones of himself to defend Veda and defeat the Celestial Beings.

I have a hunch Graham Acker having doubts with his Bushido way and will not perform seppuku ritual. He'll somehow show up in the critical moment to help the Celestial Being when they in the pinch. Well, if you can't beat them, join them.

Feldt x Sestuna pairing? Unlikely, but I've a feeling Ms. Kujoh has a new boyfriend and he's eying for her. The good news is that Souma began to accept Allelujah and relationship will back on track.

Okay, I better stop speculating before I hurt myself. "

"I believe the reason why Alellujah didn't detect the Quantum Brainwave because he'd lost the ability along with the death of Halellujah (although Twin GN Drive Particle phenomenon temporary awaken his second persona).

Now you mention about Setsuna is different level of the Innovator, I've a hunch he able to jack into others with Quantum Brainwave ability, just like Ribbons. Since he's not dependent to Veda, he might able to pull the trick with the help of his 00+0 Riser configuration and the unique GN Particle emission from the Twin GN Drive. I think he has, when he bring Graham Acker/Mister Bushido into the GN Particle a la Newtype state and have a conservation about the true purpose of the GN Drive and the evolution of man into the higher state of existent. I think this method only limited to extant of how far the unique particle is spread and how long the particle will stay and dissipate into space. The only plus of his ability is it not limited to Quantum Brainwave user only. "

"I've foresaw that Sestuna will evolve into something, an Innovator in this case, with the hint of previous episodes when Revival pings Anew to get the Celestial Beings whereabouts (sort like Sestuna having a Newtype flashes), having sort like Newtype dream of the dead coming to visit you; telling something will happen in the future plus with the last episode preview on this episode. Let's hope he's the same league as Tieria and the Celestial Beings.

In this episode, there's always a bigger fishes in the tank. And what a way to kill the characters. Supporting character A being killed by supporting character B then being owned by character C routine. And everyone in the owned chain got their revenge but with prospect of not able to fight in the upcoming episode. Most chilling part is Louise learn the hard way that exacting revenge doesn't bring back the dead and left in state of nervous breakdown or worst, insanity. Probably she is fighting the war under the influence of drug and Ribbon's mind control from now on. A good prospect for Saji to save her from A-LAWS, so to speak. Too bad, Nena unable to exact her revenge on Mr. Ali, so the title of being Ali's killer is up for grab for everyone.

Also, it reveals that Regena wants the piece of cake to control the new and changing world. Everyone is twisted and bend to achieve something. Interesting prospect of how this season will end, and let's hope they don't drop the ball.

"Tragic, doesn't it? Too bad Ribbons as the power to re-enforce his Innovator via Quantum Brainwave, overriding the subject will and thoughts. The death of Anew have a large impact on Lyle, unlike the death of his twin brother, will he able cope it and focus on defeating Innovators and their grand reform plans? An interesting look of the outcome since the season is coming to the end.

Nena would tag along with the Celestial Beings however, having Quantum Brainwave ability is liability. If Ribbons uncanny enough to control her without her knowledge, it will create an unnecessary situation which affected already chaotic in the Celestial Being. Also, the question of her personal grudge against Wang's will affect her in the next episode.

I think Ali is getting a newer and improved mobile suit which will be debut on the next episode. The rematch would be epic, I hope.

"So, finally Ribbons awaken Anew true personality in order to get his hand on 00. This gonna be interesting as how Lyle gonna convince her not to return to her creator even though Lyle beforehand knew she's an Innovator. He really needs all his charms to win her back.

As for Nena, she'd kill Wang Liu Mei either under Ribbons order or for the sake of hating Wang's guts. I think she took the opportunity when Wang and her brother aboard the Trinity spaceship to give Veda coordinate to the Celestial Being. So, that's where Nena keeping her Throne Drei all along. I'd wonder where she got the GN Drive [T] from.

On other note, let me get this straight:
1) Hilling Care is a clone of Ribbons
2) Tieria Erde and Regena Regetta are similar clone
3) Same as Revival Revive and Anew Returner
4) Divine Nova and Bring Stability are also a similar clone
5) The so called 00's light has an unique effect towards Superhuman solider with dual personality programming and you read and convey your thoughts and feelings in this strange GN Particle phenomenon (sort like 00 attempts to use the NewType telepathic ability idea)

I think is hard to make Revival to disclose the Veda mainframe location and with Anew commandeering the Ptolemaiose towards Ribbons rendezvous point and bridge drama began to unfold, I guessing the conclusion of it gonna be ugly. "

I say episode 18, is one of the corniest episodes I've watch in 00. It includes the bed "scene" precede from Gundam SEED, Lyle blurted out his feeling to Anew during launch and Andrei comfort Louise feelings to kill Saji. Speaking of Anew, I've a strong feeling she's what some of you guys think: an Innovator. I think she specially manufactured by Ribbons for the purpose of tagging the Celestial Beings. Just like Tieria, she unaware she is one of them and she just a Ribbons tool to destroy the Celestial Beings.

I think Lyle know there is something wrong with Anew and he might figure out she the tag. When he does, he might tell the rest of the crew with the risk of exposing his little secret to them.

Indeed, the trauma watching Sergei died in front of her eyes, makes Souma personality revert back into Marie. Thus, her heart turns cold at Allelujah and make her despise every time he called her Marie. It seems affected their relationship but with the help Dr. Love aka Lyle, maybe there another chance for them to get along.

The African Tower tragedy with the effects of information blackout and media manipulation, has bring forward A-LAWS into the eyes of the Federation citizen as their defender against insurgency from anti-Federation forces. This consolidate their power to eliminate those who oppose and putting Ribbons's plan in the right track. I think Ribbons wants to make the Innovators as Prophet for human to guide them and mediate them with God or sort of Ribbons wants to the human to believe at.

Let see if they manage to capture one of the Innovators to ask the location of Veda mainframe and in the process revealing Anew dark secret.

Oh no, I think Ms. Soma persona will resurface in Marie in the upcoming episodes as hatred and revenge going to consume her in the death of her foster father. Nothing worst than a wrath of woman filled with flaming vendetta. Most likely both Andrei and Marie/Soma will duel to the death in the end of series. Now, if Allelujah/Hallelujah can do something about it...

Even though Setsuna manage to severely damage and destroy the second Memento Mori, it doesn't prevent it to fire at the tower. As the beams hit and damage the outer tiles of the tower, it initiate an auto-purge sequence (I think it's the Innovators doing) that jettison 70% of the outer tiles and let it caught in the Earth's gravity and fall to the ground. Everyone (enemy and ally alike) in the vicinity of the predicted fallout area participated in a messy, 3D version of Space Invaders, to protect the civilian settlement in the fallout area. It's rare to see mobilesuits from opposing side, putting their ideology aside, band together to save Earth, just like in the final scene in Char's Counterattack.

Ribbons Almark reminds me of Paptimus Scirocco, minus the NewType charm that lures the chicks to submit themselves to him. His ambition to see all the Aeolia's phases to be carried out make him quite similar to Scirocco. Now, his elitist number (or his creation) has down to 3 excluding Ali and Wang & Co., let see what he cook up to achieve his plan. "

"I think the Professor was in theory, figuring out how the GN Drive works before his demise and more importantly before Laguna sold the GN Drive secret to the UN force and supply the fake GN Drive to them. Using the late Professor paperwork investigation on the GN Drive, Billy maybe slightly improve the current GN Drive [T] and replicate the system that enables the Trans-Am function. However, as I said before, it's still a fake GN Drive and the Trans-Am still drain the GN Particle a lot faster than in normal operational. Still, there is a room for improvement and everything can happen in this last 10 episodes.

I'm not surprise when A-LAWS bring out another Memento Mori on the higher orbital tower ring. They're going to use scorched earth tactics; as they going to bring down the African Tower to Earth with the possibility of wiping out the civilians on linear train. I think they gonna detach the higher orbital tower from the lower orbital tower, assuming they rigged the Memento Mori on African Tower. If this true, Memento Mori will become a floating mobile fortress, since the upper part of the tower is where all the solar collector array are located. Similar to what Titans did in Zeta, they will use any means to eradicate any anti-Federation force and sympathizer in the pretence of terrorism.

On the side note, you did notice the new ED scenes involving Lockon, Tieria, Allelujah and Saji are the continuation of previous ED scenes, yes? The ED track has gone to lovely-dovey theme, which goes well with the character pairings in the scene (except for Tieria). It will make most of the fans feels warm and fuzzy inside.

"Out from the frying pan and into the fire. Sestuna is having a tough day since he nearly defeat Ali on the last battle but have to fight Mr. Bushido in the next with his right shoulder still wounded in both battles. With a nasty surprise install in Mr.Bushido new suit, it ain't getting better either.

I think Billy have decipher the secret of Trans-Am and maybe even figure out how to build a true GN Drive from Professor Eifman's notes he obtained before he was killed by the Thrones pre-emptive assault. Imagine that if the A-LAWS/Innovators learn about it and for sure they will upgrade their GN Drive [T] to Trans-Am capable, if Billy is willing to share this knowledge. This could be the end of Celestial Being and also those who oppose Innovator's grand scheme. However, if Billy only manage to decode the Trans-Am and still unable to perfect the [T] Drive, using the new found capability will drain the power of the fake Drive even more and Trans-Am mode will last shorter than its counterpart.

If the African Orbital Station is not been taken over by Federation Union renegades, Celestial Being fate would be seal in the last episode. Now, Hercules renegade army have make their move, is now up to Kataron and Celestial Being to choose side.

Sucks that Sumeragi definitely isn't going to get a love interest though, of all of them, I think she deserves one the most.

Not at all, she still got Billy if she habour any feelings toward him although Billy is bend to kill her because she's with the Celestial Being.

I think Anew doesn't realize (yet) that she have quantum brainwave implant that make her a passive beacon to locate Celestial Being whereabouts. I suspect that she is given a false personality and memory to convince Celestial Being that she is not a spy if they found out. Or she had received the implant without knowing it when Wang Liu Mei recruited her to be in Celestial Being.

As for red GN particle out that came out from the Ali's gun, I think it's some sort of new bullet that hinder organic cells regeneration.

Hmmm... I wonder why they left jackets lying around in the new ED...

Wang Liu Mei need the Innovator to achieve her hidden agenda and only reason why Ribbons let her to be his double agent so he/Innovator able manipulate particular intel that interest Celestial Being to lay a trap and in return Liu Mei share critical intel on Celestial Being. However, she doesn't divulge some of intel i.e. development of Twin Drive system in the purpose of her twisted taste of entertainment on war.

Sumeragi began to built back her confidence again as the Captain and the strategy analyst as she and the rest of Plotemaios crew manage to destroy the Memento Mori with unlikely help from Nena Trinity. She had play all her available cards well and made this episode is one of those intense moments in Gundam. As for Nena, it maybe her way to give a little payback to her employer of underestimate her ability.

In other hand, the destruction of Memento Mori could be a major setback of A-LAWS taking over Middle East. However, I have doubt Memento Mori is not the only high power orbital satellite in A-LAWS arsenal. There might be one on each orbital elevator station. "

"I don't care how many episodes they what to produce as long as they able to deliver decent/above the average content and stay focus with the main story development. However, I like how they use 24-25 episodes per season format in this production as the story plot not tend to stray far from the main and manageable to watch without the audience lost in the mist of complex plot. Adding cliffhanger conclusion at the end series and significant time leap (in years) are a plus in which makes the audience wants more.

By the end of episode 12, Louise resolve to forget everything about Saji and hell-bent to defeat Celestial Being. In other hand, Saji in the state of confusion as before he manage to hijack 0-Raiser to get off the boat to see her, he been reminded by Tiera words that his foolishness will cause the lost of others. The Innovator begin to questions where Wang Liu Mei royalty lies and her intentions also 00-Raiser is a threat of their plan. Sergei is feeling discontent of A-LAWS eradicating Middle East nations that oppose the Federation representative government plan on their country using Memento Mori and the gag order. He might dessert the Federation later on.

I think if Katharon manage to get hold Memento Mori, it will give them an upper hand in the conflict but they have miscalculate the orbital satellite capability of using high energy laser output to fire into space. This might devastate their space fleet once and for all. Unless Celestial Being able to reach in time to reinforce the Katharon assault plan. "
