After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

How anime has affected parts of your life

3 years 3 months ago

"Like someone said earlier anime inspired me to do some photoshop stuff.

hmm other than that, watching it (time consuming, but enjoyable) has gotten me away from drugs and all around "bad kids" in highschool.

and yes, it has made me friends and kept old oneS!"

• It still needs a bit of work on your Yuna’s outlines (kind’o blurry). But I like what you have done so far (the change from cyan kind’0 blue to dark blue really suit your Wall). Nice work Atticus! :)

thanks! can you please explain a little bit on the outlines? "

Help me with my first vector please ;___;

3 years 3 months ago

"Overall, i think it's good for a first try. what tool did you use? i use the pen tool in photoshop.

i think you can improve the outlines better. right now they look a little wavy and splotchy, which gives it somewhat of a etched glass feel, but they would look better cleaner. i also suggest vectoring in more shades/highlights. her face looks kinda flat right now.

but liek i said overall, great job on a first try, keep on working at it and keep us posted!"

First submission~

"I think the rest of the people touched on the suggestions, but i gotta say again i really like the cutesy feel of this wallpaper! I don't know if it was intentional, but i like the fact that the lower half is very straight edged (except for the bunny hehe) which makes it seem "boring" (as given off by the note) and i like the free form of the upper half of the sky! nice dualities haha. i could also relate. it's been nice days all week, but i feel bored and tired -_-

keep us updated!"

How about this?

3 years 3 months ago

"Looks awesome!! the contrast of the vectored image and the background is too great though, i don't know if you want it that way. maybe bring out the colors in the background more? eh, it's up to you, but it looks good! i can't imagine how many hours you spent into that vector."

"Thanks for all the comments! heh, sorry about posting the image on here. i'm used to car forums where we had ample space hehe.

after reading all your comments, i think it would look the best with it being vectorized. but the complexity of the hair will drive me nuts! but, i'm going to give ita try anyway. i've vectorized somepictures before but i usually end up oversimplifying it, and sometimes it gives it some stylistic element or whatever.

but befor ei try and vectorizeit, mblack,i'lltry the cleaning! it'll preserve the smooth blendsof the hair.

i'll get back to you guys in a few days. thanks again all!

"**UPDATE** 8/3/06

thank you again for all the comments and encouragement haha.

so the changes:

-thanks for pointing out the black line, i didn't even notice the color! i decided to keep it in there, but change the hue of it to make it look more subtle

-mblack, thanks! i cleaned up yuna's hood more. i vectorized part of it, overlayed it, and put 2 more layers on top to make it look a little smoother. i think the noise that you were talking about is the pattern of her hood? hmm, i'm not sure, but i made it smoother just in case. so i hope it looks better and more smooth.

-i changed my name on the corner. jct is my intials of my real name :)

well, here's version 4!

so is there anything more i should adjust/add? again, i want to thank all of you for the comments and criticism!!

**UPDATED** 8/2/06

alright, i ended up coming back here tonight. i've been working ont his ever since. basically, i first started to do the vector base for yuna's figure. wasn't too bad. then i started to vectorize her hair. and that's where things got EXTREMELY confusing.

so, i went mblack's route and spent a good amount of time cleaning up the image. i went through the edges and cleaned up extra white spaces that i didn't select properly the first time through. i think that made it look more refined. then i applied the noise technique that mblack showed, and it produced better results. next, i changed the hue of yuna to those of the rest of the wallpaper. so it's more uniform with the whole wallpaper. the first version, the hue was more cyanish, so it made it more excluded from the vectored lines.

so hopefully, this version looks more cleaner, more integrated, and colored to make it look more as a whole.

here's the updated one. clicky clicky!

so what do you all think? also, is the hue on yuna's image flow better with the wp?

thanks again guys.

**ORIGINAL TOPIC**

hey guys. this is somewhat my first wallpaper, and i was looking at it more as an excercise in object placement and theme. i.e. just how everything looks together. majority of the shapes are from brushes.

i've been really into light blue lately, so I chose to do a somewhat chromatic blue approach to everything. I wanted the two sides of the wall to contrast. the right side is buisy and has things going on, while the left is more simpler, but emphasized with circles. now that I think about it, i kinda went crazy with the circles heh. but the left side of the circles are supposed to be "stars" that reminded me of dreams.

my problem is if I am not sure if there is too much going on, too much circles, or too little going, or too little variety. any insights or other suggestions? i'm not sure how much time i'll have left to work on this though, gotta prepare for school -_-

thanks guys.

here's the link!"
