"Indeed this is a Awsome feature, and by the looks of it, long awaited on behalf of many members here :)

It does make the job easier since all of share diferent types of desktop resolutions, so I aswell naturaly strongly support it, and do give thanks to the AP staff for finaly making it possible.

I am however encountering a few problems in some submissions.., as in the links for the other resolutions are there but allas on some wallpapers currently when I click on them some are then unable to display the wall at the desired resolution according to the link.., the page opens up as "done" with no picture whatsoever.

This probably means though that the resolution has not been uploaded yet, altough the link is already there :)
But as Bantam said, they will surely be improving it through the current days.

All and all, a great change :)"

"I've just recently started watching this anime..., in fact, it was based on the good reviews here and also the advice of a friend through PM's that I realy decided to give it a chance.
So far I've downloaded the first 2 episodes, and watched them already.
I have to say it kind of toke me by surprise.., the animation is realy well done, and its the kind of anime that realy leaves you wanting to see the next episode :)
The first episode alone though I found it to be a little lacking, altough it surely is complemented by the 2nd and thus the story gets a good start, but well, its not like Kiddy grade where the first 7 episodes are mainly just to introduce characters.
I was looking for a realy nice funny anime, and after rozen maiden, Karin seems to be a great one so far :)"

I have to agree on Sailor Moon though, altough it is a old anime, and to many it was the first they ever saw; not to mencione there are character I like on it, and a somewhat decent story to englobe it all..
..but.. it realy is as someone earlier mencioned "cheesty-tastic"; the fact that some episodes are just to stretch out the overall number with no advancements in the plot... and with everyone of them comes that wonderfull phrase... "in the name of love etc etc" that we all like :P realy contribute to tag it realy cheesy..
..at least now in our own prespective though.. when we we're little and first saw it most probably wasn't :P"

"I'll have to say Boogiepop Phantom..., to me it was so bad, but so bad that I didn't even watch more then a few episodes, and I couldn't figure out anything out of it..
I realy couldn't make out heads or tails out of it..., and I like alot of complexed anime, after watching Soul Taker I thought I was ready for everything :P
Anyway..., I recon others may like it.., but from what I have seen its not very popular.., either way, it didn't appeal to me one bit; altough.. I wouldn't go so far as to call it stupid.., it was simply just "not good".

"Currently, ALOT of people watch Bleach and Naturo, and have been doing so for quite a while now.., I'd have to say that these are surely amongst the more popular as we speak.
Other titles which are without a doubt the most seen are Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon & Doraemon.
As for Yu-gi-oh & shaman king, they are known, but as far as my information goes, they aren't as near of the popular level of the ones I previously mencioned..
If you ask me personaly, I would say Dragon Ball Z stands on nº1, altough by little diference of the other titles, I just simply put him there because... everyone who watches anime has seen it, partialy or compleatly or surely has heard of it.., and after all, too many it was they're first anime ever."

""Villans" sounds quite harsh, and it realy doesn't give credit to the role that "those" characters have in a series.., If I where to find a proper word for this I would use "Antagonists", since it englobes more aspects, these of which most of "these" type of characters have.

I think that most always seek out and follow the story through the main character, or at least focus more on to them, all and all each story has a main character for some reason right.
Still..., I don't know.., maybe its just me.., but I've always followed and focused more on the secondary characters of a story, more clearly, the Antagonists.

From each Anime I have seen, I find these type of characters to be the ones that realy drive the story, in most cases the ones that have ignited the fuse for which the rest to unfold, they also are by far the most complexed characters, specialy when it comes to mentality, at least in my eyes.
All and all through every serie I have seen and through every Antagonist I have observed, I always end up astonished with the role they play, for in the end when the conclusions come about, one gets to see the real reasons behind the actions of a character of this type.

So.. I guess since they are the characters to whom I pay more attention, specialy on an Anime, I cannot help to feel simpathy towards them, for in the end I understand the feelings of most, and why they where driven to do the actions they did and so on..
Surely I am not alone here, though, I do recon that most don't see all the beauty that is tragedy :)

As for favorites.., well I could lay down a quite a list, but I'll just mencione a few of my realy top favorite ones.

On nº1 currently stands Suigin Tou from Rozen Maiden; I've just recently watched this anime, so I am kind of still "in-love" with it. Suigin is the PERFECT antagonist in my eyes, her feelings are so complexed it takes me a hard time to find words to describe them; and the beauty of it all is that in the end you do feel sorry for her, for you get to know her true reasons. Though in Traumend things just become even more beautifull when she is put together with someone who she then simpathizes because she resembles herself (trying not to give anything away). Her story is all so sad and poetic, and yet she is the main "villan" of the series.

As for the rest I could mencione names like Folken and Dilandau from Escaflowne, Folken had failed to become king and was then tricked through lies and all arround manipuladed, to the point that is end was all part of Dorinkirk's plan..., and Dilandau who despite all of his hatred, envy and anger is not whom he appears to be and in the end we see what realy happened to him.
And also Valgaav from Slayers, Try.. his story is also one of the sadest I have seen... forced watch while his kind was all destroyed and killed in front of him, then beeing made the servent of a masoku, the kind that had slaughtered all his kin... after all of that, none of us can blame him if he wishes to destroy the entire world and him along with it.

But all are not tragedies.., names like Aion from Chrno Crusade, who was such a calculative character and always seemed to be one step ahead pulling all the strings made his role absolutly perfect; or even ShiShio from Rurouni Kenshin that despite his reasons was also a amazing antagonist, and I even felt sorry for when he died..

Most antagonists suffer the same fate... though after all its one of the reasons why I keep liking them so much :)"

"It looks pretty good so far Solwy, I realy liked the scan of Bara-suisho, and so far I think you've been doing a pretty nice job with the rosa mystica.
On a previous comment note, a more complexed background isn't the most important thing, specialy when the scan and vector take out most of the wallpaper already, still you should continue to see if you can improve it.
Either way it looks pretty good so far, so good that I in fact downloaded it already :P
Good luck on making the final version, surely it will be acepted in AP.

I think their strengths the Rozen Maidens are practically decided on the numbers by descending order. Shinku was supposed to be the first 3rd one I assume...and Suigintoh the 6th. The last one is Kirakishou.

Wikipedia lists Suigintou as the first doll and Shinku as the fith... I don't know where they get this info... probably the manga because I don't remeber Suigintou's number beaing mentioned in the anime...

I don't think their numbers tell who is stronger and who is weaker, beacuse, again, acording to Wikipedia, Kanaria is the second doll =P

I agree.., so far according to what I've seen the numbers only specify possibily the number of tries that father toke into making the perfect "beeing" (Alice), henceforth, Suigin Tou beeing the first to be created, but somewhere along the line maybe he thought it would be best if Alice was achieved by the gathering of everyone's Rosa Mystica, henceforth the Alice Game.
Its a suposition, might be why the numbers exist, its my speculation either way, just based on what I've so far seen.

About beeing the strongest though, clearly in the first season Suigin is by far the strongest, even without a medium, altough there is a quote in a duel between her and shinku where shinku says "did you forget, everything you can do I can do aswell"

All and all to me so far Suigin is indeed the strongest, altough I am yet to see those in the 2nd season which did not appear so far.

Ah, and Shinku does say she is the 5th doll, somewhere in a episode she says something like "... proud to be the 5th rozen maiden".

I am realy glad that there are plans for a third season, altough I will not see the 2nd until later this week ( blasted torrents :P ), since everywhere I read I see it ends with an inconclusive ending, a third season sure promisses alot. After all.. this is indeed a Great anime :)

By the way, I can't stop without mencioning the fact that Solwyvern posted a pic of Suisei Seki a while ago, and altough I've made this topic about Suigin Tou, I realy couldn't leave it without mencioning Suisei Seki-chan once, after all apart from Suigin she is the next Rozen Maiden that I realy liked.
On the 5th episode of the 1st series, "Stairs" I laughted through most of it all because of her :)"

I will probably see the 2nd season in a few days myself, altough I could not resist to reading some of the spoilers previously mencioned, I have high hopes it will reveal a bit more about the Alice Game and also how does Suigin come back to life after she was defeated by Shinku in the 1st season.
All and all, its a very good anime in my eyes, and Suigin Tou is definitly amazing :)"

You can go and see some of the Rozen Maiden Wallpapers here in AP for her picture ZerOSamuraiX, she is on most of them anyway, and pretty easy to reconize :P

Its a shame that not "that" many people know Rozen Maiden, despite it beeing a very recent anime, its kind of one of those "hidden pearls".., I recon most don't want to watch it because its with dolls after all..

Still, and to my surprise after watching it, despite beeing with dolls thise anime tackels into much more aspects then one can imagine at first, such as many possible ways to explain reality and that there is hope wihtin depression.

Suigin Tou made me watch Rozen Maiden aswell, it was all about how she looked on the pictures I saw that realy made me think..., such a character even though in an anime with dolls has got to be worth watching.

Altough I am told her "caracter" changes a bit in the 2nd Season, which I am still to see..

Suigin Tou - Probably one of the best Antagonists in anime ?

Well, I had heard about these series here and there, naturaly I speak of Rozen Maiden; henceforth I decided to download it off a torrent, despite beeing short (only 12 episodes) this is just the 1st season, last year was released the 2nd, which is the conclusion of the series, or so I think (I've only seen the 1st so far).
Anyway.., in the 1st season we get to see 5 of the 7 Rozen Maiden's, all of them have they're own "unique" caracter, but I was realy surprised with Suigin Tou, which is the antagonist of the 1st season.

The overall story was well concienved in my opinion but what realy got me was the dramatic aspects of the characters, when the season was over I couldn't realy help to feel sorry for Suigin and understod the reasons that led her to act the way she did.

But I have to say, throughout the entire series her presence has been astonishing, to say the least :P , everything fits so perfectly, her voice, her arrogance, narcisistic personality, and we go deep into her N-field all the darkness and destroyed buildings which realy show how her heart is.

She clearly is more powerfull then all the Maidens (if none have a medium of course), and her powers with the black wings are outstanding, we have to face it, specialy when she transformed them into the hound-like-shape.
Yet.. she still is defeated which makes the entire background, role fit in the perfect way for her type of character.

To me at the moment she has got to be one of the best antagonists in all the series of anime I've seen, its just a combination of aspects which make her so good, I understand if you don't belive me, after all its the kind of series one has to see with his/her own eyes.

A thought just keeps coming to mind on the description of a wallpaper I saw here in AP about Suigin, it said something like "she can be thinking in a thounsand ways to kill you, but at the end you will still beg her for more"
I think that clearly sums Suigin up in my eyes :)

"Well, I am from Portugal, so naturaly I speak Portuguese :)
Though eventualy also english otherwhise I wouldn't be able to be writting this :P
Apart from that I toke a bit of french in high school, but today remember almost nothing of it.. Still.., beeing portuguese I can understand many other languanges, doesn't exactly mean I can speak them, but I understand very well spanish and Italian, probably because both are also latin based.
Still trying to speak fluent japanese though..., so far I know a few lines and alot of words.., but I'm still far from doing it 100% properly :)"

How long will you watch anime?

"Like many previously said..., until I die.., go blind or whatever illfortune falls upon my grace :P

Don't get me rong..., I do not watch it 24/7 (altough sometimes I wish I did..), I've always enjoyed anime since I was little.., its something I grew up watching, it gaved me many moments of joy, sadness, and overall amazing stories..

If you ask me if I would rather see a anime then a movie with real people.., I would say the anime without a doubt.
New stories are always in the process.., and there is still so, So much out there to watch that we sometimes don't even know it exists, plus if your like me, you'll keep your favorite series in your PC, or DVD, etc. and still watch them from time to time.

Belive it or not.., If I catch a dragon ball episode on the air on some network while passing by, best chances are that I will still watch it :)"

Last Exile

"I liked Exile.., its a very good anime indeed.

The animation is superb, we could expect nothing less from GONZO in that department, it has a very good story and interesting characters aswell, still.., its not all a sea of roses..

At the begining when I was watching exile it was without a doubt exelent until the middle episodes.. then I got filled with huge expectations on the up-coming events in the storyline, and it kind of let me down how things where turning out..
Not to mencione to see alot of flaws happening in the process..

Trying not to give many things out because of spoilers.., I'll just say.., from what we see in the first times Maestro Delphine shows up.. we could have expected alot more from her part after the middle of the series.. everything was just made "so easy" for those who where oposed to guild in the last episodes, and so badly built into the story..

Plus at the begining we see Claus as still learning a few moves and such.., I had thought that through the process of the series he would become ALOT better.., but honestly his skills don't change anything.., and the relation with tatiana could have developed alot better aswell..

Exile misses on alot of points, but overall its still a very good anime in my eyes, definitly one of the best from GONZO."

People who dont like anime

"I realy could care less.. and you should too..

Since I was little I've always enjoyed animation.., and Anime is a sort of animation that is intended for a more mature age.., normaly people who see it as just beeing "cartoons" are in the best of chances just not informed of what it realy is...

Many anime to me have been better then movies with real people, series, and even the OST's much better then many albums that bands release..

Its dificult to explain to a septic the essence of anime.., words cannot describe it.., for one to see it, one realy has to watch it, but in the end this is one of those cases where you either like it or you don't, there is no middle term.
All of my friends love anime, as myself.. its something we grew up with, from watching dragon ball and saint seiya while little, and moving on to other series.

I recon I will always until I die love watching it..., its one of my favorite things to do.., and honestly.. what gets me through some rough times.., its nice to sit back and do something you realy enjoy, in my case.., watching anime :)

Anyway.. don't care about those who tell you its rong.., because it is not.., they just don't know it, or realy don't like it.. still its no bussiness of anyone but yourself what you choose to like.

Henceforth, if you like watching it, pay no attention to what others say, and that is what is important :)

Dubs that *gasp* dont suck?!?!

"On the anime I have in my computer I rarely (if the choice exists) view it with the secondary dub's, I go straight into the japanese ones..

In fact.., there are very very few anime that I have seen without the original dub's, and these where some that I did not yet "obtain" and where shown in some tv channel in my country..

Though one time I didn't have the "right" codecs installed yet, and realy wanted to watch some movies I had "obtained" from Slayers, so I thought I'd give it a shot, and since I could not change to the original dub's with my current codecs at the time, I went and tryed it with the american dub's.

And to my surprise they where pretty good.., I was quite amazed that Slayers in american sounded as great as did.., the voices of Lina and Naga where well choosen aswell as the others, overall it still captured the "essence" that Slayers realy has, sure.., it cannot compeat with the japanese, but for me, it was the best american dub's I've seen so far.

In my country though they show sometimes some anime series dubbed in my language (Portuguese), henceforth, I've seen a few that well, wheren't that bad either.

To mencione a few,
Vandread was pretty well done, all the character's fitted and even the dialog / words used where in the exact same sence as the japanese ones, plus they used one diferent person for most of each characters

Shaman King is also good dubbed in portuguese, the voices where well choosen, same goes fo Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu-Gi's voice is realy nice, and despite I've heard the one on Joey on other places it fitted him good too.

Slayers was also very nicely done in portuguese.., belive it or not, maybe even better then the american.., apart from the actor who played the voice of martina that is.

Now for bad dub's in portuguese I can say.., Card Captor Sakura was COMPLEATLY ruined by the actor who plays sakura.. go figure its the same who dubbed martina in slayers here :P

Saint Seya is old but could have been dubbed better..

Still.. the worst dub's ever have to be Dragon Ball, DBZ..., first of all you'll get to see vegeta's choice change 3 times through the series, picoolo's changes 2 times.., only voice I actualy find "decent" is goku in Dragon Ball
They tryed to make the series more appealing for kids, and despite it having worked.., it still has realy REALY awfull dub's.., like there where 4 actors to do ALL the voices or something.., 1 actor would do 5 or more characters.. it was that bad :P"

The WTF! moments in anime, where things get twisted

"I'll have to go with FLCL and SoulTaker, both very hard to follow anime, despite not having much episodes on either series, the animation style is like "most" anime (specialy in soultaker), witch makes very dificult to follow the storyline, thing in, in both cases the stories are very strange also :P
On both I had to watch again twice to compleatly understand what went on on each episode.
But both still great anime though :)"

"Yu-Gi-Oh is a very nice anime in my eyes, I only some weeks ago finished watching ALL the episodes to the end. (I kept missing on a few, and still needed to see how the series ended)
The duel between Yu-Gi and Kaiba on the Kaiba Corp tower was simply AWSOME, is not a spoiler I think we all knew it would come to that :P
My favorite character I think is probably Joey, he damn cute, but I think I choose him because overall he is always the underdog in the series witch manages to pull through, and it was because of him that Yu-Gi won alot of duels :)"

I was watching RahXephon aswell until the episode 5 so far, but its such a great series that I had to "Get" all the episodes in my pc ASAP, so now.., I've watched it all :)"
