Ok, So I just finished God of War 2 the other day. First time through and I was at 7 hours..... THATS TERRIBLE. I am so sad with the current linup of games, it used to be where if you bought a game you knew you had at least 20 hours min. Now 7 ish hours is the norm with some as low as 3 hours. Now RPG's are different but not really. There was no way to finish FF7 and get everything in the game and be under 99 hours. (it stops counting at 99)
Some of the new games sure do have killer graphics but can be beat in 20-40 hours usually with everything and on top of that, they suck. After a few hours into a game somone dies and I dont even care. Its not even a little sadening.

And on top of all of that they are so easy it borring. What happened to the games that you had to do the end boss 20-30 times to kill because he was that hard. I just beat rouge galaxy, never died. Ever. God of war, sure you die all the time in that one, but it lets you just start like 10 feet from where you died with no penelty so it wasnt even somthing I tried not to do.

i read through most of these posts (not all since half of them were regurgitation) and i'd like to speak on it as a staff member.
Back when AP was a smaller community, we had a lot of more intelligent and creative discussions. There were less people, no papers to earn, and people hung around for each other. AP grew dramatically at an incredible speed. To the point where in a matter of a week our active member count doubled. So, we had to do what we could to cope with it.
The paper system was implemented, an thus, spamming for papers began.

Basically, the reason why there are idiot-threads is for papers. We're all aware of this. Although, it's a lot easier to get a bunch of papers by posting in the intelligent threads, since a longer post is expected.
The problem is, the intelligent threads, end up with a lack of intelligent discussion and usually begin flame wars forcing us to close the topics. Theres a lot of ignorance here, and so when someone states an opinion that someone else doesn't agree with, it's like 2 bulls locking horns. For example, the religious threads include catholics and Christians saying, "i believe in god for such and such a reason" and then the atheists come along and go..."oh my god you are so stupid there is no god!" so, as you can see, this forces us to close them down. Some people have given up on discussions like these. Others just don't want them.
If you have suggestions on the forums, you can always PM a staff member about it, because we're always looking to improve the discussion around here. Problem is, no matter which corners we turn, these cheese stick topics are bound to turn up.
to actually answer some of your questions...
-yes i read the topic and 90% of the replies before i post. If the person posting sounds like spam, i delete it or skip it.
-i don't post for paper, cause i don't need papers :P
-yes, i think there are too many stupid topics.
-the topics to me don't have to encourage a debate, but i like to take part in a discussion. even if the discussion is something trivial like why you should drink milk everyday. debates get messy due to ignorance and stubbornness. i usually only post in ones i can actually talk about because i'm educated on them. and i usually have to be VERY educated on something before i'll post so i don't come off as an idiot. but i'll read a lot of the topics and see what people thing as well to help educate myself on a subject.

I've only been here on AnimePaper for a few days now but i've noticed that a lot of the topics in General Discussion tend to ask questions that make actual discussion impossible. The ones that don't do this...well, the people posting seem to have no interest in responding to points other users bring up. I'm guilty of this myself in threads that have a huge amount of replies but I do try to skim through all the answers to respond to at least a few different viewpoints. I know this is primarily an art community but when I go on forums...i'm hoping for SOME kind of interaction with the people. Am I hoping for too much? It seems like most of the topics people reply once then never look at the topic again.

I'm not sure how the other boards fare on this matter but yeah, few questions;
-Do you read through the topic and it's replies before replying yourself?
-Do you only post for the paper?
-Do you think that there is too many topics like "french fries or cheese sticks?" that make any kind of real discussion impossible? By the way...seriously, french fries or cheese sticks?
-Do you prefer serious topics or casual topics?
-Would you like more topics that encourage actual discussion and debate?
-Will you ignore all of these questions in your reply?(this one will be answered if it happens, haha)

So, what does everyone think about this? Am I full of crap or is there really a severe lack of people interacting on these forums compared to other communities? If yes, how would you solve that problem? If no, explain why.

I've read until vol 6. It's not bad, but I' ve read better mangas of this kind.
I think after a while it's getting a bit boring...
