This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Which Animes Would You Like Redubbed?
8 months 4 days ago
"I agree with HappyKari about the dubbing for Cardcaptor Sakura. Although I didn't watch the watered down Cardcaptors series, I saw the first CCS movie which allegedly had the same English dubbing and it sucked. If Sakura were a 16 year old valleygirl, the voice might have worked. But she's only 10 or 11, so the voice sounded way too old for the character. The dubbing for the second movie, however was great. When Geneon ditched Nelvana, they were able to do the quality dubbing that they're more than capable of doing. Unfortunately, Geneon lost the license to the Cardcaptors franchise, so they didn't get the chance to redub the rest of the series."View

"This is referring to any dubs worldwide. If your from South America, for example, you can refer to that. You can even compare dubs with those done in other countries. i.e.-Spanish to English, German to Russian etc. I'm interested in peoples viewpoint. This site is fairly general though. Thanks for your inquiry."View
What anime do you think needs another season?
8 months 4 weeks ago
"There are a few titles that I would like to have sequels made:1. Berserk- Great anime with an inconclusive ending, I want to see more of this story.
2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya- I loved the first season, and I think they can create more inventive plotlines from this.
3. Star Ocean EX- The cliffhanger ending implied a sequel, however there was none to be found. I want to see where this adaption goes.
4. UFO Princess Valkyrie- While this might not have been the best anime released, it was still fun. But after two full seasons, and two OVA's, the story still seems unresolved. They went this far, they may as well finish it.

"Agreed, in the end it is a matter of opinion. But I find your inputs interesting. I watched the dub for The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and I rather enjoyed it. However, I can see why 'mcz928' might find Crispin Freeman's part as Kyon was out of place because he sounded older than he should have. I thought this at first, but as I continued to watch, I liked Freeman in the way he reacted to what happened during the course of the show. Wendee Lee is one of my favorite voice actresses, and I personally thought she pulled of Haruhi's role very well. She comes off abrasive, but then again that's Haruhi Suzumiya's character, brash and impulsive. Again, it's a matter of opinion, but I look at this way. With dubbing, like anything else, if you're going to do it, try and do it right."View
Just found this anime actually

"The character that always cracks me up in this is Marcosias. I love the way he makes wise-ass remarks at Margery's expense, and she in turn, clobbers him. They just released Shakugan no Shana in the U.S. recently, and they did a great job dubbing it. Trevor Duvall does Marcosias's English voicing, and he is absolutely hilarious in the role. I've watched part of SNS 2 on a fan-sub and so far I like it. Lets hope it maintains the quality of the first season."View

"I love anime, and most of the anime that have been dubbed over the years have been of high quality. However there are a couple of titles that I would like redubbed because of the mediocre or poor quality of the original dubs.1. Karin (Chibi Vampire)-This was really a cute anime series, however the dubbing was mediocre at best, I would like to see this title redubbed to bring out the true quality of the show.
2. Crest of the Stars- This anime had a great story and characters, but marred by horrible voice acting. This is another title that deserves a once over to get the top-knotch dubbing it truly deserves."

Why do people just have to tell evryone that they hate dubs?
1 year 3 months ago
"My point exactly. I enjoy most dubbed animes that I've seen, but there were a couple that were so poorly dubbed that I switched to the subbed version. i.e. Crest of the Stars voice actors sound like they were sleepwalking when delivering their lines and Card Captor Sakura: The Movie (The first movie) had actors that were inappropriate for the parts they played. The voice talents either sounded too old for the characters they played or the personality they tried to convey sounded ridiculous. However the second Card Captors movie had much better dubbing, so at least the producers learned from their mistakes."

Dont you hate it...
1 year 4 months ago
"That's one of my biggest gripes that I have with some animes. Some are really good, but you sometimes feel cheated because they are too short. On the other hand, some animes are dragged out way longer than necessary. There are a couple animes that I wish they would make sequels for, but only if they can come up with a solid plotline or it could tarnish an otherwise quality series. A happy medium is usually the best."View
Why do people just have to tell evryone that they hate dubs?

"There are a couple of voice talents that I thought were good in the roles they played. Jason Douglas (Chrono Crusade,Divergence Eve)and Wendee Lee (Onegai Teacher, Mahoromatic) are a couple of examples. When you use the right actors or actresses, they can often do justice to an anime. But this is just my opinion."View
Why do people just have to tell evryone that they hate dubs?

"I think dubbing in the anime industry has gotten alot better over the years. It's due to the fact that most companies try harder to create a solid adaption to the Japanese version, and pick decent voice actors to play the parts. Granted some of the early dubbed animes did suck because either the lipsinking was out of wack, or they used poor voice talents. But some of the people who are extremely biased against English dubs might want to check some of the latest titles on the market, they may be pleasantly surprised."View

"I'm planning on submitting my first wallpaper to Animepaper and I wanted to give fellow members a preview to see if it's worth posting. It's an image of Hatsuho Kazami from Onegai Teacher set against celestial background. Hatsuho's image was scanned from a fan book, where as the background was a splicing of two images scanned from a National Geographic archive book. Please tell what you think. DearS!

"I enjoyed the DearS manga series alot. It had your typical fan service theme, but it was still fun to read. The DearS anime started off okay, but it kind of fell apart at the end. The anime had promise, but I wished they could have made the characters more interesting as they did in the manga. I also didn't care for how the anime series ended because it seemed rushed."View
Did anime help you to learn Japanese?
1 year 9 months ago
"I've learned a few words from watching anime in Japanese with accurate subtext. Although you can't become fluent in a language by watching anime (or any show for that matter), you'd be surprised what can learn as far language and culture are concerned. I bought a Japanese/English dictionary to help me learn some of the Japanese writing from the words that I've picked up. I've even thought about taking a basic Japanese course so I can understand the language better."View
Harem Anime
1 year 10 months ago
"I enjoy harem animes, as long as it's made well. You get some that have nice character designs with a decent plot, while others just focus on cheap panty shots and nudity and give little if any consideration to plot or dialogue. Realistically, very few harem animes will win awards for storyline. The best that I've seen in this genre would probably be Ai Yori Aoshi and Ai Yori Aoshi-Enishii."View
Anime DVD price
1 year 10 months ago
"As mentioned by other members, $30 in the U.S. for anime DVD's is alot cheaper than it is for the Japanese originals which go for $40-60 each. But then again, it depends on what you get when buying anime discs. Most domestic DVD's have 4-5 epsodes each discs, so $20-30 is reasonable compaired to Japanese discs that usually only have 2 episodes (three on the outside). Maybe production costs are higher in Japan than in the U.S. which might account for the extremely high prices."View
Chrno Crusade was the most stupid ending i ever saw
1 year 10 months ago
"Overall the plot is similar, but the major difference is how the story ended. For example some of the characters that died in the anime, survived in the manga version and vice versa. Also, some of the survivors paths in life differed greatly between the manga and the anime. I liked this because it kept things from being too predictable."

"As was said above, it's more than likely a Hong Kong import which are not legal copies. If the DVD doesn't have a regional restriction code, then it's probably a bootleg. Also, bootlegs usually have mediocre to poor subtitling on them."View
shuffle!
1 year 10 months ago
"Overall Shuffle was a decent series and it had great character designs. The two things that knocked the series down a couple of knotches was that it got a little too melodramatic toward the end of the series. It started off light and funny, then turned dark and somber later on. The other was who Rin chose to be his girlfriend when considering his relations with the other girls in the show."View
Full Metal Panic!!

"I loved the first season of Full Metal Panic and FMP?-Fumoffu was campy, but alot of fun. I got to watch FMP-The Second Raid on an import DVD, and enjoyed it as well. It went back to the same premise as first season with a balance of slapstick humor and tense action. Second Raid is more brutal than the first two series as it is more violent, but it's still great. If the writers can come up with creative storylines, I would definitely like to see more episodes made."View

"When I first read about the plotline for Maburaho, I was going to pass it up. I'm glad that I took a chance on this however, because I really liked the series. I liked all of the characters, except Yuna started to piss me off in the latter part of series. Two of my favorite episodes were when Kazuki used the last of his magic, and the one with the Cinderella party. "View
anime it's for adult or kids?
1 year 11 months ago
"It's amazing that to this day that some people think that all anime is for kids. Some of the promotional artwork and boxcover designs can look innocent enough, but yet the series could be very adult oriented. For example, Popotan's cover design looks very cute, but the series has alot of nudity and mature subject matters. People who are looking for anime (like any other series or movie) for their kids, need to seriously look at the ratings on the back of the DVD covers to determine whether it is appropriate for certain age brackets."View
Video Game Violence
2 years 5 days ago
"I'm pretty much stating what other members already have said. You have parents who buy games for their kids with ratings that specifically says it for mature players only, but then some of them turn around and blame the suppliers or game companies for corrupting the morals of minors. If these people are too stupid or illiterate to read the warning labels, then that is not the fault or responsibility of the game suppliers. It's the parents job to regulate what their kids play, not the merchants or even the government. I personally wouldn't let my kids play games like GTA or Resident Evil (if I had kids that is), but thats just me."View
