Scan : The characters're too blur, may be you should extract more so that it might look more prominent and colourful =)

Background : I'd say it's quite okay if only you didn't splash too much random textures there >_>.. The desert needs more retouchings =) It looks flat and don't blend together with the houses at the back.

Textures : You've used too much of them X3 Well, I know what you're planning to do with the textures. Please reconsider to lower the opacity or not splash them all over the wallpaper.

Shakugan no Shana wall!

Glad to see another Shana wallpaper =) Therefore, I'll try my best to help but I'll apologize at first if I unconciously use harsh words =)

Scan : Need to be extracted more. It's jagged everywhere.. Starting from her hair, I guessed you used brushes to paint her hair, didn't you? It's not quite wise that way. Try to cut out the render properly and patiently from the scan, ne?

Background : It's way to simple you have there. I suggest you not to depend too much on brushes, it won't do a good wallpaper but it doesn't mean brushes aren't helpful. Brushes're supposed to be used when it's necessary not just splash it randomly. After that, may be you should learn blendings the background and also make uses of gradients, textures and lighting effect.

I'll stop here. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask more through PM (with link, please) if you don't mind my useless suggestions =)

Render : The scan is way too bright. It blinded my eyes >.<; Well, if I put it properly, may be it contains too much yellow in it... If you plan to use one-kind-of-colour, try to mix dark-mid-light-pale colours too so that it'll look more lively.

Background : May be you should add some shadows at the edges of the photo =) Besides, the words on the wood doesn't seem to be written on wood although I know you've put some bendings on it but they still need more retouchings.

Textures : Use textures on the photo and other necessary spots as well.

Lighting : It's up to you whether to put it on upper-right-corner or upper-left-corner. After that, don't forget to apply the effect on the wood and words, ne?

I'll stop preaching so far. Hope it helps.

I'll try my best to criticize necessarily. Therefore, I apologize first if later there're harsh words =)

Eclipse 1
Scan : I didn't zoom it so that I couldn't see the exact outlines but I could see that there're a lot of parts that're jagged, may be you should extract more =)

Background : Honestly speaking, the background didn't match with the render (scan). Look, the main color of your scan's supposed to be red, not black. Say, if you attempted for black background, it's okay, but it'd be better if you dicard/change the color of the shining part behind the big red 'moon'. Besides, you used too much sparkling brushes there. And they look too sharp. Try to mix sharp and soft brushes =) ---> I guessed it's better not to use dissolve option there. I suggest you to discard the thick black lines at the upper and lower parts of the wallpaper too. It blocked the view.

Eclipse 2
Scan : It looks better than Eclipse 1 but still jagged.

Background : Too many sparks though you've improved the brushes a bit. Try to find another alternative for the lighting, it looks okay but not quite good.

Font : Too prominent. Try experimenting with blending options to match them with the background.

Overall
Why do the renders differ one another in Eclipse 1 and Eclipse 2? O_o?

I'd taken a look at your wallpaper and it seems a bit messy to me. Sorry.. It's better if you don't use multiple backgrounds as your 1st wallpaper because mixing various background is pretty difficult. I was like you back then =) don't worry, just work on it once again, I believe you can make a better one. I can't give you any other better suggestion but I'll always wish you luck =)

I'd taken a look at your wallpaper and I should agree with Sumiru that the texture's killing the render. I somehow understand what kind of wallpaper you're really aiming at =) I suggest you to lower the opacity of the patterns and blend them with more various colours instead of using a one-kind colour. Another suggestion from me is that try to fill the render with various colourful patterns and see how it'll change the sensation. Hope that helps~

I'd taken a look at your wallpaper. I won't say there's something missing nor something's wrong. I suggest you to take care of the render first. Try to vector it patiently or you still have another alternative which is to extract it better.

If I were you, I'd think twice before blurring the render. If you're aiming at a wallpaper with prominent render then you shouldn't have blurred it, if you're aiming for an action wallpaper then it'd be good to give blurry effect at the back of the render.

I guessed yours should be a prominent wallpaper. In that case, after retouching the render, you still have alot to do with the background. Even if you intended to use patterns as the background, try to give more variations and blending effects. If it's possible, add more renders (ex : adding Kon or whoever besides Rukia so that it won't seem too 'empty'. Using brushes might be a good idea too ^_^

I've been away for weeks due to tests (the final tests're up this May & June so that I might be late in replying again.. T_T Sorry...)
Finally, I'm done with the revision but still, I'm not quite satisfied yet.. I managed to vector the wings somehow (Yes, Asa, I resized it in the previous one ^_^") and added glowing effect there. I didn't vector the tress, it's really hard T.T
I used birds brushes instead of starry brushes (just wanted to experiment though..) Change the background gradient as well and here it is...

"I've changed the style again (please bear with me, Clarings, Asa01 and the others because I want to try every possiblity that I come up with). Applying this new style, I managed to fix the gradient problems and the wings blurriness somehow. But if it looks bad to you, I'll switch back to te previous style :)

Clarings-san, I fixed some of the lines but I don't really know if it's jagged again (please tell me more about the exact spots. Sorry if I'm troubling you >.<")

"Okay, I'm back with some new ones :)
However, I have problems with the gradients, it seems that when I darkened those layers, the colors got jagged somehow or is it just my illusion? >_>... May I know how to fix that? *Please*
I posted the light version one as well so that you can compare them ^^

Background : I added some leaves there. Do they look weird somehow?? I haven't put the shooting-stars because I want to focus on the gradient first. After it's finished, those starry stuff will be my last final step :)

Character : It's vectored, Asa01 :)I tried to fix the jagged things but I noticed that the only visible jagged line is at the top of her hair. The wing style's changed, do I still have to change the style? (if it still looks odd) ^^;

"It's a nice wallpaper. I see that it's quite simple. How about putting some gradient? Well, for simple wallpapers, they usually don't contain many brushes so the only things that can be played are gradient and the text. Try to make the text more attractive by blending them or something else according to your style :)

"First of all, I apologize if there're rude words in my reply.

#1. The scan isn't really good. There're parts that're jagged. I wonder if you had extracted it before you out it in your wallpaper.

#2. I see that you're trying to make jagged spaces surrounding the characters. However, if you want to do so, please pay more attention to the size of those lines. It'd look much better if you put them in a similar size because I notice there're many parts of the lines that're cut off or not complete.

#3. The brushes are not balance somehow. Well, around the bottom-right side brushes, it needs more retouching though.

#4. Overall, indeed, it's way too busy there. At least, if you intend to make a busy wallpaper, try to scatter the character all over the wallpaper so it won't look weird (at least for me)

Err... How to put it... Because I remade it so I can't get the exact colors as those first ones. I wonder how does it look like now? Well, I've changed the 'wing' style. Indeed, there're parts in those previous wings jagged or something 'untidy' so I decided to use another one. The jittery thing, I managed to change the brushes but I don't really know if it looks good >_<; The sig size was changed as well :)

"What do I seek in those animes? My answer might vary because I get stuck with anime not only because of one reason. Indeed, modern technology allows the producers create various animes with graphic diversities so that most of nowadays animes have superb graphics and it's obvious that I consider watching them based on that too although it's not my prior reason. I seek for an anime with a good storyline that can make me laugh and sometimes make me sniffle, it'd be much better if I can pick up some meaningful lessons from it. My prior personal interest is in action, fantasy and friendship series :)"

A : It's obvious that I read through the topic before I post my comment, if I don't read them, what am I supposed to post then? For the replies, sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on the topic, if it sounds intereting to me or at least I'm familiar with the topic, then yes, I'll read all those replies. However, everyone's their own things to do, it goes for me as well, so if I'm in a hurry or have something urgent to do, then I'll just tleave it alone.

Q : Do you only post for the paper?
A : No. Actually this is an art community so it's supposed to concern on wallpapers and other related stuffs not the discussions (this is only my personal opinion). I try to get papers from those wallpapers I made.

Q : Do you think that there is too many topics like "french fries or cheese sticks?" that make any kind of real discussion impossible? By the way...seriously, french fries or cheese sticks?
A : Yes, I do think so. But it doesn't mean that I detest those topics, sometimes those-like topics can't be called a discussion since it only refers to vote and survey. After all, I prefer french fries :)

Q : Do you prefer serious topics or casual topics?
A : I'm a balance kind. There're times when I want to drown myself in a serious topic because I feel that I have to answer my best if it's really important for the poster to know my opinion. Too many serious topics might give me dizziness and make me stressed so I'd like to flip over some casual topics randomly.

Q : Would you like more topics that encourage actual discussion and debate?
A : Debating is nice as long as it doesn't violate others.

Q : Will you ignore all of these questions in your reply?(this one will be answered if it happens, haha)
A : I answered them :)

Q : So, what does everyone think about this? Am I full of crap or is there really a severe lack of people interacting on these forums compared to other communities? If yes, how would you solve that problem? If no, explain why.

Indeed, sometimes I'm finding that it's hard for me to understand other's meaning in those threads they posted. For me, I'll just leave them alone and won't bother thinking of any reply to things that I'm totally blind about. In my personal opinion, it'll be much better if I stay 'silent' because it'll be troublesome if I misunderstand the topic and give illogical replies.

So far, I had ever had some difficult conversation with adults, well, it's obvious though... Being adults isn't always nice, they have their own problems to deal with, that's what one of them told me long time ago when I was still a kid and yes, now I begin to understand the reasons behind the madness.

For the time being, I don't really have problems with adult, or should I say that it depends on the interests that we share one another so basically there's nothing like "I don't understand what they're talking anout" but it's supposed to be "It's just still not my time to understand those things. One day, I'll be able to understand it when I grow up."

Please don't take it seriously, it's just my dumb thought though ^^;

1st: I'd be burned if I stay too long under the sun.
2nd: I'm a kind of person that sweat easily so I can't stand being in the heat of sunshine.
3rd : Rainy days bring back memories somehow. It's nice to day-dream when it's raining (at least, for me ^^")

Indeed, I realised that it's way too 'busy' somehow so I reduced the quantity of the background. Besides, I tried to shrink the text as mentioned before (but I don't know if it looks the same with what it meant... Sorry...)
I agree with Desepicw that the cahracter looked like it's glued there so I hope these ones are okay now (may be ^^;)
Okay, I also changed the 'lop-sided' moon. Finally, there're two results here..
Of course, I need comments about them and which one is better.
