After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Eureka 7 Vector, Opinions?

"First off, if you haven't finished watching this series this is a spoiler! it is a screencap from episode 50, so be aware of this before you click the links!

Anyways, I wanted to get some of your opinions on what to correct in this vector. Some of it is looking a little off (especially the eye), and I need some input on it.

"I think the brand comes off a little blurry and would agree that it needs to be perfect if the wall is going to get accepted.

Maybe putting the thing Griffith wore around his neck (behelit i think) in the background would look good?

"Yes tips and input on vectoring would be very much appreciated! I am doing all the easy stuff now (that way I'll be too far done to give up when I get to the tough stuff=0P) so I'll probably have questions later.

I combined 3 different screenshots from episode 51 I think. using TMPGEnc to capture it and then used a tutorial someone mentioned to me to help clean up the quality a little. I also traced out a few lines with the paintbrush to clean it up a little more. Course now I'm using illustrator to vector it, first time using it and I am learning all over again=0)."

"Well she is considerably shorter than Shunsui and is off in the distance so I didn't want to make her too big. I'll increase her size to try and match it up better though, thanks for the heads up.

I am hoping I can get away with doing an outline and vectoring pieces of him. mainly because every time I look at the beard I am baffled as to how to vector it correctly.

anyways, this thread will probably drop for a little while well I take care of the vectoring of Nanao and Shunsi. Thanks to everyone for their help!"

one of those two would probably work for what I'm trying to do.

Anyone have a good tutorial for making flower pedals or birds in the sky? I've never done it before so some points of reference would be handy.

I just got done with my kenpachi vector so I am looking for my next project. For some reason I seem to choose the biggest pain in the ass jobs=0)."

I am a little stuck on what to put in the background. I was thinking doing some flowing pedals but I can't seem to find a tutorial that can help me with that.

Also do you think it is worth vectoring him? there are a few area's to touch up, but overall it doesn't look like that bad of a capture. (plus it will take FOREVER to vector his beard=0P)"

I went back to the basic idea I had for this wallpaper, I wanted to show the chaos that runs through kenpachi's head and the fact that he loves every second of it. something along the lines of staring into someone's eye and seeing who they really are (or something like that=0P).

I think that may be the one I submit but I want to hear your guy's thoughts first. The last thing I want to change is the bottom text, it just doesn't feel right to me now."

"My two cents:

Nothing looks terribly bad, but I get the sense that it is multiple things put together as one wallpaper, not one wallpaper with multiple things. what I mean by that is that each thing feels like it is independent of the other. There is no flow between the images you put in. You can almost pick out each and every layer.

A wallpaper should looks seemless and flow as one solid image. I don't really have any suggestions for you as I am not sure what theme you are really tring to bring out with this wallpaper. I see heavy influences of Itachi and then two other atasuki guys thrown in with the text of Atasuki.

k maybe that was four cents=0P but I hope you understand what I am trying to say. I would take out all the excess and try and look at it again, think up a very clear theme you want and what direction you want to take it. If you like one image inparticular ask for suggestions about what you would add to that image. Then build off that and turn it into a great wallpaper."

"I like the text a lot, has a good feel and look to it. However the wall as a whole feels a little simple. Need something more to jazz it up=0). I highly recommend you vector the scan, it is damn near the entire wall and will have a big impact.

Tweak it a little more and it will be ready for upload I think. Definately a nice start, I really do love the text!"

Hate having to work with gradients when vectoring - never know what colour to use. If I were you I prolly would flatten that gradient patch on his arm and maybe draw shadow patches instead - but that's just me being fussy with a lot of things.

Noticed some of the outlines are thick-an-thin though prolly look fine once coloured. Seems like you're drawing an area, then colour it in and put outlines around. I did that for my first vector the result looks okay but I found it terrible to manage afterwards or if you want to make changes - which is why I rather spend the laborious hours tracing areas on the insides and outsides of the outlines.

Just noticing how your shadow 'trespass' through the face and neck outlines. I generally prefer to manage my traces in groups e.g. face, neck, clothes, etc - so it's easier to move around or do stuff later if you need to fix something since you can on/off the layer group. But again that's just me and I'm no expert in this.

Anyways, looks great so far, keep it up!
Vectoring is a lot to do with personal preferences, so long you get used to a technique - stick with it.

I actually am tracing the inside and outsides of the lines, and yes it does take FOREVER. I just went ahead and completed the foot and sword on a whim.

My layers are a bit of a mess right now, stupid pen tool keeps on switching to creating a new layer and then I realize it after I already did a vector. I have gotten better about it recently, but there really is no rhyme or reason to how it is all laid out. I'll be cutting and pasting all the outline vectors into one layer once I complete it. That should clear up most of my layers and get it back to being organized. I probably will be redoing the skin and shadow layers as those were the very first thing I tried.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I should be done with the outline tonight, so I will be coloring it and doing detail work then on. Hopefully it won't suck=0P

"This is one of my all time favorite Manga, I still haven't seen all the of the Anime but the Manga is spectacular. It has been a while since I read it, I'll have to catch up on the story again!

It is kept realistic and they aren't afraid to kill anyone off. That's what makes it so great! you never know what to expect. Plus the all characters have multiple sides that get shown throughout. No one character can fit a stereotype, unlike so many other Manga out there. You hate and love every character in the series because of it.

Such a great manga! Right up there with Berserk."

"A trick i use to blend it better is to duplicate the layer with the character on it and gaussain blur the layer behind it. Adds a nice glow to whatever you want.

I like the background a lot, it goes well with your scan."
