After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Why do guys prefer long hair on girls or is this an incorrect generalization?
3 weeks 1 day ago
"I think any generalization when it comes to preferences is inaccurate. You can make a statistic of it, but if you follow statistics too much when it comes to preferences, it's hard not to stereotype people.Personally I'm an individualist, so I really don't think generalizing such things can ever truly be accurate, since some guys will like long hair and some guys will prefer short hair, no matter how good looking or ugly a person looks with or without said hairstyle."

Controller or No Controller?
1 month 1 day ago
"Hmmm...probably stated already, but oh well.I think that there are several factors that need to be considered to make Project Natal successful.
First of all, what kinds of games to make. Obviously no controller is going to have its disadvantages in some genres and advantages in others over having a controller. Racing games might be interesting (IE: Mario Kart Wii was rather successful; and speaking of racing games, might be used as a Driver's Ed sim LOL! 8D). In terms of 3D fighters and fitness mixed together, no controllers would easily win hands down also (Actually I wish that ad wasn't staged, I'd so do that all freaking day, just bead up a 3D avatar). However, I think that no controller would easily lose out to RPG games. Sure, you can walk around or whatever, but seriously, you can't explore a whole world over a certain range.
Second, hardware. We already know the EyeToy was a failure. Even though the PS3 is coming up with a new EyeToy, Project Natal easily blows it out of the water. The problem is whether the 360 will be able to handle that kind of processing? And if it can (if barely at the best), then what kind of lag times and frame rates would be plausible in practical use? Sure, the idea is great, and let's say that based on idea alone, this thing sells out like no tomorrow, much like the 360 itself. But seriously, Microsoft is quite well known to ship out defective hardware regularly (see: 30 GB Zune, 1st gen. X360, etc). Microsoft is seriously going to have to go to town on the hardware requirements and availability, if not have to invent a whole new Xbox just to assimilate these things. XD
Finally--I see Project Natal more of a practical tool rather than video game-related device. Look at the personality sim that was floating around YouTube and my earlier crack at Driver's Ed. If this system were absolutely perfected, you have AI's for psychological studies, practical training, fitness/mild recreation (yoga, Tae-Bo [or whatever that self-defence exercise crap is called]) all in the bag.
I think Project Natal has potential to revolutionize wireless technology, and not just gaming itself. If only applied to video games and entertainment value, then yes, I believe it will fail. If they thought of practical uses to incorporate into a video game-like sim? That would make this thing blow out media to a whole new level.
Now I can't wait for hologram technologies (see: Star Wars/Xenosaga/.Hack/etc.)."

And to be honest, I'm glad they cut down on the excessive blood. Blood just makes me feel queasy. x-x (is the kind of person that turns blood off on Mortal Kombat, lol)"

Disney buying Marvel for $4 billion
2 months 3 weeks ago
"Economically speaking this is a good move, both by Marvel and Disney. They'll have money to spend, and hopefully this will help North America's economic downturn (probably not, but here's to hoping). For both companies, this was a good move though--Disney acquires rights to many new and colourful characters to play with and water down (curse them), while Marvel gets new financial backing. So to speak. On the other hand, as is for the concern of many fans, including myself, Marvel's quality may decline even more than it has before (Heck, they have a little chibi Marvel show running somewhere, my cousin was just watching it. Ick...x-x). I mean, Marvel is pretty laid back in comparison to the dark atmosphere that's usually presented in DC Comics, but now that it's associated with Disney, I fear it'll be made even worse so that parents would feel that their toddler children would be safe from nightmares in watching it.
Another concern I have is the big evil corporation thing. I know it's all speculation and theory, but I'm a paranoid person. I don't like big evil corporations. Haha."

"Final Fantasy is just slowly dying out I think, considering the fact that the more old school FF gamers I know are hating the series more and more each passing day.Personally I'm not as big of a fan as I once was, I'll admit, but I walked in during FF VII's time, so I'd be more willing to play this game than the old school FF gamers.
Mind you, I'm also a broke student without a PSP sadly. Haha. I really want the silver mystic PSP though. x-x"

Are video games corrupting your fragile mind?
3 months 2 weeks ago
"Hahaha, hilarious. No matter where you go, there's always radicals on both ends, aren't there? I mean, it's kind of corny and in itself sounds like a video game plot. First, we have the total nutcases or "corrupted" ones who do public shootings and the sort while coincidentally played Counter Strike. Then we have the extremely prejudiced that just won't have any of it and will stop at nothing to totally stamp it out. Jack Thompson for example. Hilarious stuff. Now, for the rant against these extremely prejudiced idiots. First of all, we have ESRB ratings for a reason--they give a little hint to consumers about what kind of content a game has. If people are too dumb to read a rating and will still blame video games for a good chunk of the world's problems (violence, underage sex, etc etc), then movies and TV shows and music and even books should be blamed also. I mean, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had way too many sex jokes for my taste (don't get me wrong, still a good movie purely for the action, but uhhh...). And I think most people should be smart enough to know that news nowadays can be quite...edited for lack of better wording. Okay, we can get some bare bone facts that some premier or PM or president or company or whatever does something. But more often than not, I notice that a lot of news articles are quite opinionated subliminally.
Now to the nutcases that go on public shootings or become rapists or whatever other criminal activity. They are the oddball radicals that just act out. You'd think from human history that we've learned not to stereotype whole groups of people just from a few who act irrationally. Most of them should know better, but because they let whatever emotions take control over them, they give other gamers a bad name.
Parents should monitor what their kids are playing, particularly younger children. Since kids do as they are shown or told, it's no different from a video game. I've been playing video games since I was in preschool, and my parents didn't allow me to play more violent video games until I was 7, when I started playing games like Starcraft and Shinobi. It wasn't until I was in my tweens and teens that I started getting interested in fighter, action, and RPGs. And by then my parents didn't care because they had taught me what was right and what was wrong and by that age I think I was aware of the fact that it was simply a fictional universe.
My two-cents on the topic. For whatever that's worth. ^_^""

"Wow, I'm actually kinda stoked for a sequel for once. Aside from Tekken 6. It looks pretty interesting with what they're doing with it. Any opinions?Personally I'm happy to use Ayane, since I love speed-base characters. In Sigma, I usually swapped to the dual wielding swords (I can't remember the names right now), so yeah, that's interesting to me. Although, Momiji seems like a random addition.
I'm also interested in the co-op mode, with one complaint. I'd like to play with my brother on the team missions offline, since we can't really afford a second PS3, and I get kind of annoyed at most allied computer AIs. I hope they decide to add an offline co-op, but for some reason I doubt it, since the same thing happened to Armored Core For Answer."

What is the purpose of a video game?
4 months 3 days ago
"I agree with one of the comments made on the first page, in that video games are just a hobby in the end. An escape is essentially the goal of any video game in my opinion. Sure, they have their practical uses, their eye goggling graphics, mind blowing puzzles and game systems, and so on; but in the end, they are just an escape. Just like cruising around in a fancy or souped up vehicle, cooking extravagant meals, reading/writing, model building, etc etc. In all the said above, like someone earlier said about video games being "an art", there will be critical elitists that will nit pick at every little detail about a video game. Just as a racer may nit pick at every little detail about cars or bikes (I love my Suzuki, sorry), or fellow artists criticize works of art on deviantArt.Many older gamers say they enjoy the classic and simplistic games much more than the modern ones today. Despite the raging success of Wii Fit or World of Warcraft. Again, I say it's because video games are an escape. They just want to sit down, pick up a game, play it, and be done. They don't want to worry about where they are in a story, what the mechanics of a shooter/fighter game, the overpowered capabilities of units in a RTS game, or whatever. But then there are others, like myself, who want a story out of a game, so we tend to play RPGs. Others like to show their tactical prowess in a shooter, still others like to show their skills in an arena of a fighter. Then there's games more designed for socializing--MMORPGs. You practically have to group up with people in order to beat certain dungeons or bosses. I think this is the reason why WiiFit is so successful, it tries to keep your body in shape, while at the same time, you're goofing around and playing a video game with friends/family (I've never played WiiFit fyi).
Okay, that's my cheap two cents worth. I have no idea if anyone's said anything like that, I only read like the first post and the first two responses and realized there were too many long posts to read 'em all. Sorry if I'm repeating someone. x-x"

Anybody watching E3?
5 months 3 weeks ago
"Valkyria Chronicles was an awesome game though. T_TAh well. I watched the Sony and Microsoft press conferences. Not so much the Nintendo.
To be honest though, the only thing I enjoyed out the press conferences was Microsoft's Natal Project. I'm quite excited to see how that'll turn out, considering Microsoft's track record of new releases. Seems most of their stuff doesn't work under the stress of every day use. Haha. I wonder if there's a hard difficulty to that corny martial arts game the kid was playing.
Aside from that, I was hoping for some FF vXi info. Too bad they didn't announce anything concerning that title. FF Xi looks okay, but I'll wait for it to get cheaper and/or used. Haha. FF XIV on the other hand was indeed a surprise, but also a bit of a disappointment. Square keeps going with the FF franchise and even though each title is exceptionally different from the last, I haven't been too impressed since FF X, which is my fave FF.
My brother's are quite stoked for Left 4 Dead 2. I'm curious also, I enjoyed playing that game with my brothers, haha."

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

"Oh mercy. Last Pokemon game I played was Diamond and Pearl, and before that Gold/Silver/Crystal.Although, I must admit, I really loved Gold and Silver. I might actually give these guys a shot, just 'cause aside from the originals, these starter Pokemon were awesome, and even though the story plot never changes, I liked Gold/Silver's variation the best.
My only complaint: I hope there's no new Pokemon, I think 350-450 is quite enough, along with the long list of "legendary" Pokemon (Seriously, there has to be at least a dozen of 'em, which is kinda sad)."

"I like a few. I like tactical games like Front Mission, Fire Emblem, and FF T/TA to put my thinking cap on. I dunno, I just like outwitting stupid CPUs with cheezy tactics. 0-o Although, Valkyria Chronicles was just pure awesomeness, get it.RPGs is a given. Haha. But I generally play 'em for a good story. I like to powerlevel in the beginning, then just rip right through the story so it's not all disjointed with training. So far in that respect, I've liked FF X the best.
I mainly like fighter games for competitive play. 3D fighters anyway. I only play Soul Calibur and Tekken and eagerly awaiting Tekken 6 for PS3. x) I'm just not a fan of 2D fighters like Street Fighter, despite it being a classic.
And then there's just mindless action games, which some have a good story and others I just feel like cutting things up or shooting 'em down or something. Chaos Legion is one of my fave action games."

"I don't mind it, but there are a LOT of annoyances about the new MSN.1. I can't downgrade. I backed up the installer back in the good ol' 8.5 days, but when I ran it, I got this. x-x It sucks...I don't like having the Windows Explorer border around it, I want to get rid of it.
2. pasting screenshots used to be quick and easy. Now we have to go through the cumbersome process of accepting the photo sharing. Not only is it annoying for me to resize the window (sorry, I'm a perfectionist like that), I also have to compensate for that little bar up top for future sharing in the conversation.
3. I got annoyed when they swapped the position of the icons. Not a big deal though, just confusing at first.
4. I don't like how if you send large amounts of copied text, it'll send as a .txt document. I miss the days when it just cut off, so I can tweak how much I copied really quick rather than waiting for it to transfer.
5. Copying and pasting convos has horrible formatting now.
6. Transferring files don't work half the time any more. It'll be transferring and suddenly my contact'll say "There was an error. 0-o" or "Why'd you cancel?"
7. Invites don't show up half the time either. x-x
...and that's all I can think of off the top of my head."

Microsoft to release six versions of Windows 7
7 months 1 day ago
"I'd go with the Professional. I heard it has something called a "XP Mode" (XPM), which basically swaps the main OS to look like an XP OS. Of course, you'd need one of the XP SPs, but it's suppose to be used for when installing programs more compatible with XP than Vista, or even 7. It's likely to be more stable for those kinds of programs at least and it installs right into the 7 OS also. Personally I'd install everything on the XPM, then run it in normal conditions. The XPM is only available to Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate though.

"Bah, SC IV was completely about the online component. I mean, don't get me wrong, that's definitely a good selling point, but it's like they mainly focused on that. I was rather disappointed in the single player options since often times I'm without internet.I try to play online, but for some reason, my PS3 disconnects after about an hour of turning on. 0-o
I've loved Soul Calibur since it first came out for the Dreamcast. x) Got II, i, and IV, but unfortunately I was thoroughly disappointed with SC IV. SC i was the best imo. Although I must admit that I was impressed by the custom character stuff. I hated not being able to manipulate what kinds of phrases he/she said. x-x
My fave and best char is by far Xianghua, but I also practice using Kilik, Seong Mi-na, Cassandra, Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Talim, Maxi, Yun Seong, Taki, and Raphael. I know, long practice roster, I'm not nearly as good with any of them as I am with Xianghua."
