After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Change

"Hello,Change is inevitable. It is with change that we move forward. How one perceives change is an individual matter, since no two are completely alike.
People that fear change and cling to the familiar are afraid of the unknown. It seems daunting, since you now don't know what lays ahead. However on the contrary you don't know what lays ahead in everyday life. Sure you may have the illusion of routine conformity. In the end you simply don't know.
Change happens in big and small increments. For example the changes in understanding as one grows older. Some times it yields monumental perceptions and at other times smaller ones. One cannot control how or when change happens but if they remember, they can control how one reacts to it.
Personally, change is a pro-choice for myself. With change comes knowledge and if one takes care to utilize it one becomes wiser. For better or worse change is a necessity. Simply remember to not lose yourself in the midst of chaos that is life.
Remember to always remember the balance. If something changes to upset it, it will take measures in correcting it. Whether we like the outcome or not.
Well those are my feelings upon the matter.
Cheerio!"

"Hello,I noticed an interesting problem that can become bothersome in the future. When I'm browsing through Session Zero I'm noticing a lot of these wallpapers have been submitted to the gallery and haven't been removed from SZ. Just something that I wanted to point out that I felt would possibly become a problem for AP's server.

"Hello,I like the city that was originally there for the character. I could vector it however do not have the time to such a task. Do not despair however you could go the the wallpaper group "Vectorness" and send out a couple PMs to some of the members and see if any would be willing to vector the image for you. Best wishes to you on your wall.

"Hello,Just a quick question. Is this wallpaper going to stay a simple abstract or were you planning on adding more detail? If its going to stay at about this stage of detail your doing pretty good. The depth issue is always a tricky task. Some ideas to make this happen that I've learned are...
- Color - When objects and such are receding the lighting of the color will change. This may be very small however our eyes are surprisingly keen at picking these things up without ever thinking about it. So if you were to adjust the color management over the characters receding into the background to have a hint of the color that lies behind them then this would in a way make them feel like they are further back.
- The blocks in the background are all pretty sharp. Switch it up a little more randomly by blurring them at different settings. However keep some sharp just so it isn't all blurred to hell lol
I hope you found anything in my post helpful to you.
Have a nice day."

"Hello,Let me start off by commending you on your painting. Beautiful! I have just one suggestion since everything is done just right. Your perspective needs work. I feel like she's 3 times taller then spike. When doing a perspective shot from a woman's butt you would either see more of his upper body OR if you made him smaller it would make it look like he was "Further" back if you want to keep all of him in the frame.
Ok after some more thought I think the positioning is great since it looks almost like a birds eye view however its hard to get that impression at first sight. I was thinking a handrail either on her right or her left. Either way would work depending on how its executed. This would help the eye movement from her "DOWN" to spike so people will be able to accept the perspective more because they NOW know that shes actually standing at the top of a staircase.
I hope this was helpful. This is a beautiful wallpaper and would Fave instantly (if you fix the perspective XP lol). Take care.

"Hello,A suggestive wallpaper. Its nice. However is seems a bit simple since it feels like you just grabbed a scan and did the level, curve and color adjustment routine. The text needs some major work. Stands out a tad to much and the font doesn't fit at all with the overall feeling of the piece. Its a little to whited out but you could incorporate somehow some more light effects to give it a more fairy feel. Another approach you could do is actually get some ice renders (3D) and blend them over to actually make it look as though she IS frozen inside something (crystal or whatever). Hope you found anything I suggested useful. Take care.
Have a nice day."

"Wow. This looks a lot better since I last saw it. Just a couple notes for you to consider and in the future as well. When working with shadow unless it is the sun or light that is projected like the sun shadows will be much softer with any other kind of light. When I see this wallpaper I don't think the light source is anything from the sun so naturally I feel the shadows to "sharp". Soften them up a bit. The fall shadow of the character isn't to shabby an idea. Another note is why not spark up your scan a little more. Say a duplicate layer with gaussion blur and blended with either overlay or softlight and some opacity adjustments. It'd give it a nice "POP" to the wallpaper. Don't over do it if you decide to do so. Keep up the good work too ;). Hope to see more promising wallpapers from you in the future. Until then.Have a nice day."

"Hello,Nice work. I will be honest this isn't really my kind of wallpaper but its good none the less. The first one by far is the best IMO since the pink splotches in the other two are kind of weird and ruin the mood of the whole wallpaper. Congrats to you.

"Hello,Wow, the grass looks A LOT better. Nice work. Hmm...now your lighting seems to be heading in a bad direction now >.<.
- I can see you have his shadow against the grass but it just doesn't look right because he is so dark and the grass around him seems so much lighter. I'd either lose the shadow or brighten your character up some more to make to light source more viable.
Other than that I don't see much else. Nice work and keep it up ;).

"Hello,The first one with the gradient making it darker on top is great. What I meant with the gradient thing is to use it on your patterns you have. You know those patterns that are green, blue and red. Thats what I meant XD. However you adjustment is very nice. Hmm...I'd add more detail before I submitted this but if you want to its up to you. Catch you later.

What programs do you use for your Wallpapers
2 years 11 months ago
"Hello,Well here is a list of some of the main programs used for making graphics which is pretty short.
- Adobe Photoshop
- Corel Paintshop Pro
- Gimp
Adobe Photoshop: This program is pretty much the highest pick for anyone whos really serious and into creating graphics. It has a quite a learning curb since this program is pretty advanced and has a lot to offer under the hood. Depending on which version you get also determines price. If you are ones of those must have latest your looking at a $600 bank job. If not they have version 6 and 7 which can be attained from $100 to $200. If you just want to get your feet a little wet and try it out try one of the other two below.
Corel Paintshop Pro: This program is second to Photoshop. It has a majority of the same tools but not as many as Photoshop. Its not overly hard to learn but does have a learning curb. Its a great program that is also A LOT cheaper than Photoshop. Great program. This is something pretty close to Photoshop for less but it still costs a pretty penny.
Gimp: I will say I have never tried this program but thing about it is its FREE. You can pick up off the web and has a lot of similar features with the other two programs above. Mostly it has the layer system which is how a lot of graphics are created because it provides the ability of manipulating several objects seperately to create something unique.
So when it all comes down to it the first two cost money but are great place to get started in graphics. On the other hand if your wallet it tight Gimp would be another great alternative.
If you are curious about the first two programs you can try them out for free for a full 30 days.
Here is a link to trial version of Paintshop Pro - LINK
And heres one for Photoshop - LINK
I hope you found my post at all helpful. If you have any questions for me by all means send me a PM. I hope you find tons of enjoyment working with graphics.
Have a nice day."

"Hello,Oh I like your concept idea. Hmm...now this can turn into a really fun wallpaper. Hmm...lets see.
- I like your fan thing with the patterns. It creates very nice eye movement. A gradient overlayed or blended with soft light starting from the bottom with black to add more darker color and use white on the other side to sort of blare it out. Creates more color basically since it seems flat.
- I just thought of something that would be really cool if its done right. Make some sort of light source from above with rays coming down. Hmm...its difficult to explain it but thats basically the best I can say. XD Gomen.
- Some sort of saturn ring coming around the fan and in front of "whats his name" however its like an ethereal light. Not just a solid shape of color. This creates more eye movement around the main subject basically.
Ok I seem to be getting carried away with myself XD. Anyhow I hope you find any of my suggestions helpful.
Have a nice day."

"*sigh* Hello,Ok this is a great wallpaper however I feel a few things can be adjusted and it'll be nearly perfect.
- Tone down your texture over the wallpaper. I like the effect however its to present. Lower the opacity some more where you can barely see it but its there.
- The brush work in the clouds is alright. I can see you were going for a grunge touch however I don't think you need those. I'd recommend just getting rid of those.
- You can see some of the bottoms of your grass brush. Not that great to see. What I'd recommend it masking some that are showing bottoms to give it an impression its fading into a darker area. Plus the grass closer to the camera is a bit bright. I'd recommend darkening those since that won't be in that much focus anyways just keep some green there to allow the viewer to see that its more grass in the foreground.
I hope you find any of my suggestions helpful. Awesome too ;). Definately want to fave this when you submit it lol.

"Hello,This is a tricky scan to work with because there isn't very much room for work. Hmm...well for starters freshen up the scan and make it nice and clean. Hmm...well I'd suggest make a new background of some sort. Maybe shes upside down and you can see a skylight of some sort behind her. Some lighting work would be a great idea for this. Hmm...shes in the middle of a battle so lets imagine bullets. Say a couple a flying by her however this is a tech world shes in. You could have the bullets emitting a glow of light to create more visual interest. Definately do something about that empty background though. Until then.
Have a nice day."

"Hello,This wallpaper is quite simple yet it works great. There are somethings about that rule that a bit "fuzzy." If you worked on the stock to blend it well with the actual scan and worked with it to match the lighting so it all blended together then it can be accepted (atleast I think they would). ANYWAYS...
On to your wallpaper. Everything seems to be working together very well. Just one object that stands out to much. Your clouds. They wouldn't be ridiculously white like that at the time of day it is in the scene. Usually clouds appear more grey, purple, orange and pink at the time your wallpaper is depicting. So I'd work on the clouds in making the shadow a bit dark and grey and purple. The lighter side I'd make...a light pink but not over zealous. Try that out and give us a show.
Have a nice day."

"Hello,Elf here already mentioned a lot of what I'd like to say about your wallpaper but I have a few suggestions of my own.
- ELIMINATE the ghost in the background. (SO BEGINNER XD)
- Re-work the grass. Start with a layer closest to Belldandy and then keep painting grass layer for layer till you've reached the bottom of your canvas. Following the Tut above would help a lot as well.
- I feel the fence is fine because the whole wallpaper sort of rolls together nicely with the light colors safe for the grass which needs work XD.
- ELIMINATE THE GHOST!
- The clouds in your background are not to shabby however are a bit...off. It feels to much like a clouds render layer with a color layer over it. Try to get a more...central feel to your clouds instead of them being everywhere @~1@.
Thats about all I can think about pointing out in this wallpaper. Its going really good. Keep up the good work ^_^.

"Hello,Well you have a nice touch for ideas however the way your going about execution is a bit...off. Using that filter or any filter for that matter on a scan isn't really the best idea. People enjoy detail and smooth sharp lines. I feel that your trying to go for a painted/watercolor style however is to harsh. You do have potential. So lets go for your first wallpaper. Extract the scan and leave it as is. No filters. And do the same layout concept with the minature version of him whited out and text. From there just work with detail. I think these can be great starters. Just need some pruning. Hope to see an update ;).
Have a nice day."

What do I need to submit my first wallpaper?

"Hello,Simple wallpapers can be approved here however they need to be done right. For one whats his name? He appears squished in the link. I'd fix that so it looks normal o.o. Plus what size are you submitting because they only accept 1024x768 and up here. Some more work with the background would be nice. Butterfly is a nice idea. However I recommend adding some more interest. I'd suggest but I gotta run right now. Gomen XD. I'll see about giving you some ideas later though ;).
