Anime-SEED-Otaku's wallpaper is captivating in many aspects. It starts with the background which is completely made from scratch, to Ed, who is small but still has a great amount of details. The pyramids are very well done and the light effects create a great atmosphere.
Not only the art but also the concept behind the wallpaper is worth mentioning. When you look at it, you feel how insignificant one person is compared to the huge world. Not many wallpapers can create an emotion like that which is another reason why this wallpaper deserves to be highlighted.

Official Eureka SeveN Discussion
3 years 9 months ago
"This is an article I wrote and posted on several E7 fora (all dead by now I guess). It's my attempt at explaining a huge amount of the context that E7 uses. The thing that bugged me at the end of the show, was that I wasn't quite able to connect the dots of the plot, to create a line. I simply love this show, because it's so amazingly well put in all departments, and I wanted to prove for myself that Eureka seveN's context is as thoughtful as the story and character development. So I started tackling the biggest issues concerning E7.The following is an article concerning many aspects of E7, like Trapar, the Compac Drive, Despair Decease (already mentioned in this thread) and the Limit of Life theory.
Trapar:
Trapar is known as TRAnsparent light PARticle. Some people suppose that it's a light particle, but it's not. 'TRAnsparent light' refers to the particle's attribute of being unaffected by light shining on it. It doesn't reflect light or absorb it. Trapar is simply some kind particle that lets light pass through it, unaffected by light. Which would make sense, since if Trapar would be some from of light particle, then it has to travel with the speed of light. This makes it very impractical to think that Trapar can behave like 'waves' or 'flows' like the wind, since their speed would be ridiculously high. Also, the 'Transparent' part can't be referring to that the light particle is transparent to our eyes, because our eyes see a bandwidth of the electromagnetic spectrum, which we identify as light.
Instead, what makes the 'Transparent' part so much more interesting, is that it suggests that it's a particle that doesn't absorb light particles of certain wavelengths. It's something Einstein discovered and received the Nobel prize for. What he discovered was that atoms of different materials, absorb light particles also known as photons of very specific wavelengths. But he also discovered that you can stimulate materials with an electric current to get them to emit light. Lasers use this principle and it's called "Stimulated Emission". Trapar can apparently only emit electromagnetic particles (photons) and not absorb them.
It is thus more practical to think of Trapar as a molecule or maybe even an atom, with some interesting attributes. First attribute is that its unaffected by light. Second attribute is that Trapar can radiate light or just electromagnetic particles. So, apparently Trapar has a different aspect that attributes to gain energy or to be able to transform some form of energy into electromagnetic particles, because the amount of energy you put in a system, must equate to the amount of energy that comes out of a system. In other words, trying to keep this as realistic as possible, Trapar must have some form of electromagnetic charge and thus, can be affected by other charged objects, like magnets or electric fields.
In physics, there is an effect known as "Magnetic Induction". It's an effect that occurs when you change the position between two charged objects with electromagnetic fields. Or in other words, when you start moving around two magnets around, a current starts to flow in those magnets. The cause is "Magnetic Induction". Nature prefers a balance, and when you change the position of two magnets, you also change the magnetic field with it. The magnets try to prevent this change by letting a current flow in themselves. There is a simple reason for that. By running a current in that manner, a force gets exerted that tries to counter the motion of change. It tries to prevent the magnets from moving. But better said, "Magnetic Induction" means that whatever changed the magnetic field, will be altered by a force, known as the "Lorentz force". It's the reason why two magnets push each other away or pull each other together, when you confront one magnet with another. The direction of the force, depends on what poles you hold together, since two plus or minus poles will only distort the magnetic field further, while one plus and one minus pole will result in a balance of the field.
Back to Trapar, this is where it gets its energy from. "Magnetic Induction" or change of the (electro)magnetic field (electromagnetic, since pure electric or pure magnetic fields don't exist). It explains two things that we come across often with Trapar. The first is that has a flowing property. It has density and can flow, because it has mass and it carries a charge. Therefor, Trapar also has "Magnetic Induction" between other Trapar. Second property is that it now also emits light or other electromagnetic waves. You could say that this only occurs with high concentrations of Trapar before the known visible light starts to appear with Trapar interactions or when Trapar is being moved very fast through the air containing normal Trapar densities, since the faster you move a charged object, the greater the rate of change of the magnetic field will be, the greater "Lorentz force" will be and thus the greater the energy changes will become. This explains how sometimes you see light being emitted from the air when there is a high concentration of Trapar present or when a LFO rides through the sky very fast.
It's in fact the "Lorentz force" that keeps the LFO's board in the air. Because the force of gravity that pulls the board down, is the force that causes the change in the magnetic field, and therefor the "Lorentz force" wants to counter it, creating a synonym for a 'lifting' force. Hence the name, 'lifting' (also known as 'reffing', Japanese word for lifting is reffing but Nanashi didn't translate it into lifting). This force is always perpendicular to the board and points a bit in the reverse direction of the motion of the board, since the speed at which the board travels is also a factor to how much the magnetic field is being disturbed and thus the "Lorentz force", depending on the speed and the amount of contact surface which lies directly in the face of the flowing Trapar, will be a factor to how much the force points in the reverse direction. Also, a LFO must travel at a certain 'stall' speed before it can actually ride the Trapar. Because only then is the magnetic disturbance great enough and the "Lorentz force" strong enough to lift the board.
Compac Drive:
If Trapar carries a charge, can it also be used as a communication medium, like with ordinary electromagnetic waves? Yes, indeed, this is possible. Since Trapar is also a charge-like particle, it has the same properties that enable radios to transmit signals. At the same time, the Trapar can also interact with the human body. In special, the hearth and brains. The hearth is a very interesting organ. Its cells are very sensitive to electromagnetic change, since a pulls given by the brain determines the hearth rate by which the hearth muscle must contract and relax. The brain itself is also one bulk of electromagnetic changes and brain-cells are very active in the sense of electromagnetic charge distribution changes. Trapar therefor has a great influence on the human body and enables the human body to interact in return with the Trapar.
There are several forms of interaction describable, but the most practical one is communication. When you communicate, you have an input, a transmitter, a receiver and an output. When you transmit information, you want of course that the person or entity that receives the information, can actually understand the information and is listening to the right frequencies. You need therefor a device that does all that.
This device is called the Compac Drive. It is used to allow stable communication between humans and LFO Archetypes. The Compac Drive senses the brain waves of the pilot, 'translates' it into a signal the LFO can read easier and transmits this signal into the Trapar. The Compac Drive isn't necessary, but it enables for more controlled interaction between the LFO Archetypes and the pilots. If the concentration of Trapar is high enough, it's also possible for humans to interact with the Trapar. This interaction is known as 'the Zone', where humans can actually see the Scab Coral's signals being transmitted and can 'connect' with these signals. Anyway, the LFO Archetype is a pure sentient being of the Scab Coral and can read the Trapar and thus can also read and interact with the signal directly.
The Compac Drive has two modes. One mode where it only receives and transmits human brain waves into a Trapar signal. And the second one where the LFO Archetype's feedback is linked to the nervous system of the pilot. The Compac Drive transmits the LFO Archetype's 'brain waves' back into a Trapar signal the human nervous system can read or is sensitive to. This requires the pilot to use medical aids, to pump up the electromagnetic activity in the nerves and brain, to have the Trapar to interact upon it, and thus giving feedback. This second mode, allows the pilot for more advanced control and awareness of his LFO Archetype's condition. He feels his LFO.
Besides these modes, there is one extra upgrade utility of which only one exists. The Amita Drive. The Amita Drive is fitted on top of the Compac Drive and only works under specific conditions. Only one LFO Archetype can work with it and only special pilots with a special bond can operate it. The type of LFO in question, is known as typeZERO. And there is only one person, who can pilot Nirvash, the nickname of typeZERO, without a Compac Drive. This person is Eureka, a humanoid Corelian, born from the Scab. Nirvash and Eureka are part of the Scab Coral's desire to find a way to communicate with humanity in a way, that allows the Scab Coral to avoid the Limit of Life and that allows for unconditional co-existence and trust, which will ensure the survival of both humanity and the Scab Coral. Better said, the Scab Coral wants humans and Corelians to live, in love. Love is necessary, because love makes the certainties of life a realistic matter and makes one feel conformable with his or her reality, if there is someone else there, that will enjoy experiencing it as well, together. Through pain and sorrow, through joy and laughter, through unconditional communication, the only certainty there is, is that love is the strongest truth in this world. And this is exactly what the Scab Coral seeks, for both itself and humanity, to survive, not separately, but as one.
The Amita Drive plays an important role in this. It is a key, that unlocks the true identity of Nirvash and awakes her identity. But for what purpose is this identity required? Nirvash's true identity as a LFO Archetype, is to assess the relation between Renton and Eureka. She gains her strength from the relationship between Eureka and Renton, but she also has the consciousness to assess and act, when necessary to allow the bridge of love to exist. This is the reason why she was so neglecting against Eureka, when Renton just sought more intimate communication with Eureka, but Eureka wasn't reading the signs. Like when she removed the Compac Drive from Nirvash, then it drove under the control of the Scab Coral into the inner realms of FAC-51, because basically, what Eureka said and wanted, was that she didn't want to change, she didn't want to change anymore, because it only caused problems, between her and Nirvash. And therefor, she became not the candidate the Scab Coral sought for. She almost merged back with the Scab Coral, but thankfully, Renton came after her and saved her.
Eureka didn't understand, because she was just Corelian and wasn't raised as Renton was or any human for that matter. She could only understand Nirvash, since they were both Corelian, but Nirvash knew what Renton felt and thought. Because, Nirvash could read Renton's brain waves and his feelings for Eureka, through the Compac Drive. Nirvash understood Renton's feelings. And through those many moments that Renton showed to Eureka his will to love her and to protect her, Nirvash responded, to achieve the goal of the Scab Coral, even if it meant to fight against the Scab Coral itself.
Despair Decease:
Despair Decease is a condition that can be best described as a comatose state. People 'suffering' from Despair Decease, end up in the Scab Coral as a mental entity. They have 'left' their body and are actively alive and well in the gigantic consciousness of the Scab Coral.
How does someone end up, suffering from Despair Decease? Most patients suffering from Despair Decease had, prior to their condition, experienced a very tragic and very emotional and personal event, that caused them to feel numb and sad about their life and reality. Loosing touch with that reality, caused their minds to feel detached and they wanted to reach out to other input and output sources.
Since Compac Drives allow for stable communication between humans and the Trapar and the Scab Coral uses the Trapar to communicate with itself, in the sense that the Trapar is like the nervous system for the Scab Coral, people with Despair Decease, ended up communicating with the Scab Coral. Their minds aren't exactly gone from their bodies, but they don't respond to input via their own bodies. They can register it though, but they don't accept it as their current reality. They accept the Scab Coral as their new 'reality'. There is no cure possible for Despair Decease, except that the reality of which the patients fled, has to become accepted again by the patient, in order for the patient to abandon the other reality.
Limit of Life theory:
The Limit of Life theory is a theory that predicts that when there are too many sentient living things on the planet Earth, then, a black hole will appear and suck anything into itself, to a different space. But how, and what has the Scab Coral to do with this?
The Scab Coral itself, secretes Trapar. The substance that allows the Scab Coral to communicate with itself all over the Earth. The Scab Coral needs it to survive as one big entity. But besides the Scab, humans and other living things can influence, knowingly or unknowingly, with the Trapar. In some sense, the usage of Trapar for communication or for reffing, can take up the capacity. In other words, if too much Trapar is being used, beyond its capacity, new Trapar is required to accommodate for the need. The Scab Coral then secretes more Trapar to increase the capacity.
However, by secreting more and more Trapar, the density increases in some areas to enormous heights and this can be dangerous if the density reaches a critical point.
3000 years ago in Eureka seveN's time-line, the Scab Coral experienced reaching this critical point as exceeding the Limit of Life. It caused a black hole, the Great Wall, to form and to prevent the hole from becoming unmanageable, the Scab Coral forced a huge part of itself to sleep, in order to lower the usage requirement of Trapar and thus they could lower the usage capacity of the Trapar, by diminishing the amount of Trapar.
However, when humanity returned, the Scab Coral sought to communicate with humanity to find a solution for the problem of exceeding the Limit of Life. Therefor, they made life possible on its sleeping outer shell. But because humans started to build cities, disturbing the sleeping Scab Coral and use the Trapar as a power source to fly and because humans could interact subconsciously with the Trapar, the usage requirement for Trapar was rising again. The Scab Coral could only add that much Trapar to the atmosphere of Earth, in order to evade the exceeding of the Limit. Since, it also needed Trapar to keep that large part of itself asleep. If the Command Cluster or center of the Scab Coral, would lose communication with that part of the sleeping Scab, that part would wake up again.
What actually happens when the Limit is exceeded, is that the Trapar density in some part of the atmosphere reaches a energy limit where below it, spacetime still remains stable. When the energy density reaches that certain limit, it punches a hole in the spacetime and generates a 'black hole'. The amount of energy that is exceeding the Limit of Life, determines how strong this 'black hole' becomes. This anomaly can tear apart anything in its path and suck up anything, depending on its strength.
That's it. I could add more to this though.
BTW, if you were annoyed by the quality drop of animation of the TV showing of E7, BONES improved the animation for the DVD releases and recently Nanashi published the torrent to the last episodes (43-50) but apparently they waited till they got the DVD rips. IMHO, IT LOOKED damn AMAZING! THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS FELT COMPLETELY NEW! Eureka seveN is simply the best Anime ever created, a Masterpiece above many other masterpieces, perhaps all of them."
