As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Fanatism: how much is too much?
2 months 1 week ago
"As ChrisWas says, it kind of depends on the situation. If it's just extreme devotion where they're dressing up, celebrating birthdays, talking about it constantly then I wouldn't do anything per say but I'd definetely distance myself away from them because that to me is weird."

Fanatism: how much is too much?
2 months 1 week ago
"Are you serious? That's possibly one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Celebrating a fictional character's birthday? Talk about taking obsession way too far. Then again the whole Twilight frenzy has gone way too far now.
To be fair, this rarely happens anymore. Maybe in your country this is still a problem plaguing the game but generally speaking, it has been majorly stamped down from what it was in say 1996 to 1998. I know there are still few saddening occasions when the hooligans rise from the ashes and wreck the nature of the game but it's largely uncommon. It's just a sad thing that many non-soccer fans associate the game with something like hooliganism when the problem has, for the most part, been largely eradicated.
Anyway, getting back on topic. I believe there should be a limit. It's fine being a fan, a super fan, a fanboy even but when your fanatism transcends all leaps and bounds and affects your personal life to the point where you begin to shape your life around it, is the point where you as a fan need to kinda back off and move on."

Do you agree or against pirating
2 months 1 week ago
"I'm half and half on the subject. My philosophy on pirating is if I like what I'm pirating then I'll go and purchase it. It's like checking the product out thoroughly instead of taking the risk of picking it up, glaring at the box for a few minutes and thinking "Should I spend 15 bucks on this?". Things like music CDs and DVDs/Blu-rays aren't exactly dirt cheap so before I buy them I'd like to make sure I like the product enough. Even if it's my favorite band or if it's a movie by my favorite director, I want to make sure I don't waste 15 big ones on what could be their worst movie and a complete waste of money of which I'll gain little to nothing back on. It's through this method that I ended up getting into a lot of TV shows and subsequently buying them.I'm not a shameless pirate. I understand the fact that people put a lot of work into some of these things and need to be reimbursed for their work to make the world go round, yadda yadda yadda, but at the same time, why does that mean I have to throw money at things I'm not totally sure of?
That being said, the only thing I don't pirate is video games. I'm usually very sure in what games should be good enough to waste money on and the ones I don't, I rent and see first. Why don't I just rent movies and TV series too? Could you imagine the money that you would need to back that up? At least there's so very few good games/interesting games out there at a time my ending bill from Blockbuster isn't through the roof."

Should squaresoft make a remake of final fantasy 7 for the ps3

"Someone talking sense! Oh my!
But yeah, this is how I feel too. There was more magic in reading the text and coming up with your own conceptions of their personality and voices. You just can't re-invite that kind of magic when you have Cloud's whiny pathetic emo voice drilling at you throughout the whole game. You can't really imagine Sephiroth being this dark, pained and tormented character when you have some terrible voice actor's boring, bland and monotonous voice chew his way through the lines.
Just wouldn't be the same at all."

Will the PS3 die???
3 months 18 hours ago
"Wii won't die either. Sure, it may not be doing the same kind of business as it was doing at the time of release but you have to remember Nintendo made a ton of money around that time. Wii won't "die". It will slip in popularity but Nintendo are doing extremely better off the Wii than before they even released it.No one console is going to die this generation. To be fair, the people behind each division knows what they're doing and their game they're playing. They make some dumb decisions from time to time but they know how to survive. Microsoft survived through the original Xbox days, Nintendo survived through the Gamecube days and Sony are surviving the current generational war. The PS3 Slim is kind of a testament to the point that Sony aren't just going to lay down and accept defeat."

Advent Children barely got away with it but only because the trio before him sucked as main villains."

Disney buying Marvel for $4 billion
3 months 3 days ago
"For Disney, it's good business. For Marvel, it's great business. For the fans? I'm not too sure. This doesn't sit right for me at all. I mean, there are aspects to this buyout which I don't mind particularly. Marvel getting a bit more recognition and advertising through the Disney brand isn't too bad as there are some really good comics out there people should read. But as you noted on in your post, I fear there's going to be watering down. Not on a huge scale though, I think comics will be untouched but I semi-expect titles like Punisher to slowly dissolve into nothing as it doesn't fit Disney's audience range. As for movies? No idea. Not sure how the Spiderman deal is going to work now because Sony is the one behind them so far and I imagine they still have rights and all that to it which I assume Disney wouldn't like and stuff like Iron Man which kinda hits on a lot of adult material doesn't seem like something Disney would stick with in the long run.I'm iffy on it but hey, at least that means there's going to be some really crazy wacked-up worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3."

" "There's not official project that's up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, 'If we did it it would be like this or like that.'So, they do talk about it, but there's no official project yet. But there's that PSN release that just came out, so if you could play that for the time being, it should be fun."
As from the mouths of producers themselves. I wouldn't expect a remake anytime in the near future. They're just not that interested at the moment.

What you think of BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM

"It's really not when you actually delve into the game. There are a lot of different mechanics at work such as the detective work and stealth play. In all fairness, you don't get to see much of them in the demo but I would strongly advise a rental, it's easily in my top 3 games of the year.
Also, I've beaten the game and pretty much nearly beat it 100%. Awesome game is severely awesome."

Also, I don't think she's a troll. The videos are months old and she's got way too much Japanese stuff and putting way too much effort into the videos so yeah, I'm fairly sure that's legit.
Now, for some more internet magic. I bring you Boxxy.

Small things that immensely piss you off?
3 months 1 week ago
"Repetition bugs the hell out of me. Whether it's someone asking me something over and over again or even if it's eating the same meal week in week out. I don't know what it is but as someone as something starts repeating, it annoys me immensely. Especially the asking the same question over and over again, once it hits the third time my temper just snaps. Also whistling that goes on for longer than 5 seconds. The most irritating noise in the world. Keep it to yourself, no-one else around you is enjoying it."

"Woohoo, another GameFAQ-er.As for the term itself, it depends really. There are some cases where I can understand the use of the word and can even say it myself like, for example, the girl in that video. She is just... urgh. But in most cases in which I see the word thrown around, especially on GameFAQ's, is when someone simply states that they love anime or they know a few words in Japanese. In those cases, I find the term somewhat ridiculous as they merely having a passing interest in Japanese culture possibly through anime or other means.
Now hardcore devotions to acting, talking and even LOOKING Japanese then yeah, definitely, the term is perfect. That is somewhat irritating to put it mildly, no need to try so hard to be something you're really not."

"No, the changes they would make would be damaging to the legacy of the original game.1) The battle system would change because people are too lazy to adapt to an ATB system so it would be a battle system akin to Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy 12 and that would be horrible.
2) The soundtrack would change, Nobuo doesn't work for Square Enix anymore and I strongly doubt they'd be willing to pay over the odds to bring him back.
3) The voice acting is horrible and takes away from the experience.
4) Personalities would change to adapt to Advent Children and I'm not interested in an emo complaining Cloud throughout the whole game.
5) They'd have to add in hints and plot-points to the rest of the games which would be horrible because they were for the most part horrible fan-fiction storylines that didn't add anything to the original.
The only plus is the graphics would be better and that's it which isn't enough at all to qualify a remake. That's like saying "Hey, I want a remake of Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 so I can drool at next gen graphics some more". In my personal opinion, there are very few legit games that should qualify for a remake.
A perfect example of something that qualifies for a remake is something like the original Resident Evil. The voice acting was horrible, the direction was pretty poor, the atmosphere was terrible, the dialogue was awful, etc. So when news comes of a remake that would completely revamp the game in every aspect for Gamecube that was absolutely good news because this was a game that was so flawed initially that a remake which would better it was more than welcome and it did just that.
With Final Fantasy 7, there is NOTHING to better. The original game was amazing enough and it's not like the original game is impossible to find either. If you've got a PS3, it's on the PSN store, if you haven't there's probably a ton of copies on eBay or any other store around. It's not a rare game by any means. There's no real need to remake it then for "Ooo look at duh purty graphicz!", if you want to re-live how awesome it is then the best thing to do is to stick the original copy in and click 'New Game'."

Will the PS3 die???
4 months 3 days ago
"This changed a while ago. Those reports are years old, Sony have been putting some extra funding into helping small time indie developers create and publish games on the PSN for a good couple of months now and also, while the programming of the PS3 may still be a pain in the butt they're apparently more than helpful. I've heard more than one report from varying studios saying that once they picked up the phone and asked Sony for some help on it, Sony were more than helpful and tried their best to get the game up and starting and running just fine.
Of course, it's all a little late for this now as they really needed to get their crud into gear at the beginning of the war/race but what's done is done. Of course, the war belongs to Nintendo technically (though I don't really consider them a proper "gaming" company anymore but that's a different subject) now but PS3 is still going strong in a very big field and industry now."

PSP Go
6 months 2 hours ago
"Uh... I just explained why they did in the post above yours.
Personally, I think the design is quite cool. It appeals to gamers who had problems with the ugly clunky look of the original PSP's and to the mainstream casual gamer who wants to play on something that isn't so embarassing to whip out in public, which is where the whole cell-phone kind of look kicks in. I agree with the first post though, the concept design was much, much cooler than the final product but it isn't so bad really. It looks fresh and slick.
Though, I still couldn't warrant buying the thing as the list of games I would actually want to play on it aren't that many."

PSP Go

"I thought I'd leave a quick post on the PSP Go! matter. It is not meant to be a replacement or an actual upgrade to the PSP 3000 or any other models. It was stated yesterday that they'll continue selling the 3000 series alongside the Go! as they know there are two types of gamers. One who prefer digitally carrying the games around and those who prefer physical ownership of their games and for that reason they have given gamers the choice of choosing which they prefer. There's no real difference except a bigger size capability, no UMD drive and a new design, no-one is asking you to upgrade or swap models. It's down to YOUR preference of ownership."View
Resident Evil 5?
6 months 6 days ago
"Because having it take place in the Caribbean would have made no sense whatsoever? The game was meant to deal with the root of the entire viral problem brought up by Umbrella and what better place to have it all take place but in Africa, where humanity was first born? Not sure if you've noticed but Africa isn't exactly the most stunning place in the world to the eye so the game's depiction of their fictional land was pretty good and Resident Evil has always taken place in some broken down, gone to hell place which Kijuju was.
As for all the other complaints, to each their own. Though the bubble effect was remarkably lame, I mean remarkably lame."
