the extraction looks great for me when I can not tell it's white edges or outer glow effect 0_0 anyway, I guess you need to find some cooler fonts for the text part. Old fashion handwriting doesn't fit a SF theme anime and the whole paper."

"I think one should be considered as a re-cg, large areas are covered by text, and he did really respectable job on re-drawing these parts. keeping it like original is even harder than creating your own sometime.

Like AbyGail said, it's more likely a picture you will upload to scan category, but it may really depends on how much work you did. I even saw some clean out work get featured. lol If I was you, i may just add some sunshine and submit it anyway, you lose nothing when you get reject or deleted (only some papers you earn for your submission)

If you really want to avoid this problem, my suggestion is to add more your design elements to it (ex. a frame to it? make it like a photo from pile of other photos taken from summer vacation? or sth like that)

still great work and i know that's not easy. lol

"In fact, IE has way more plug-ins than FireFox, however most of them are adwares and virus. 0_0 there is popular plug-in called ie7-pro for ie, but you can see they just steal great features from firefox.

for css2.0 site like AP, FireFox is just way more faster. AP's category list almost killed me when I browsed with My IE 7.0 ...

but still sometime you just have to use IE to view some old site, they look so different in FireFox and some code are not functional.

don't know much about oprea but it has linux version anyway.

I'm using safari at school and it looks really normal to me..

Now Let's explain them.

1.I guess AP is not a place designed to store your personal stuff; it's a personal fan site so its bandwidth and space are very limited. But if you want to upload some wall for your personal use, upload it at http://imageshack.us/ It's really easy to use.

Resize an image from small to big only can make it much more dizzy, I guess this is very cleared explained in FAQ.

2. gif is not allowed in avatar. I'm sure extractly why but clearly. It may cost more bandwidth and make the site slower. Anyway, it's the rule here 0_0 And as I said AP is not a image stock, it's a place to design your own wallpapers.. so I guess there's no place to upload your gif. STILL, you can upload it at http://imageshack.us/ , and link it to your Signature, userpage and so on! (but not the AVATAR - -)

3. you don't just keep downloading here. Any download costs bandwidth and that's money! To get something you have to pay for it. the way to pay it here it's using Papers. I think it's explained super clear in FAQ.

There is nothing technically wrong with this wall (maybe the font you are using is a little bit hard to read, still looking nice),it's super clear, well colored and definitely very beautiful and scenery. Really difficult to make any critics.

However, I'm just get a little bit tired to see the moon, night sky, cloud and so on. Everyone seems like to use them in every wallpapers 0_0 even though i understand that it's just always perfect fit the the character and the theme.

"It seems it's a extract work taken from a manga or scan, it may not that perfect (still see yellow edges..),but I think it's still looks OK and good work. It's quality may really depends on the scan's quality..

Well, I guess you may want to color part of sakura in red or something else to make her stand out more.

And I' think It's better to put the text layer under the main character's layer, instead of covering her dress.

Well, eventhough vancouver just starts its last day of 2006, I guess AP's using GMT or something...

ANYWAY. Here's my new wall for 2007. It's a Kamichu! wallpaper based on a Scan on AP. Named "Hide and Seek!".
Full vector work in Illustrator and no effect used.




Just want to try some new style. It's second version already cause I lost 40 layers during a "UNEXCEPT ERROR!" of Illustrator !! Never never want to try apply ANY effect in Illustrator again, it's a RAM eater and a nightware.~

i may want to add some text to this but don't know how yet.

Any comments other than "It Hurts my eyes~!" are welcomed~(I've already stared at it for a whole day - -) I know it hurts, that's the whole point of this wall : if you want to burn your friend's eyes, send it to them~!

sometimes full vector lack some ability to show out the motion and mood, maybe you can add some ps effect as well...

"I know some people may think it's a little bit plain or left out too much blank on the left.

But really, I just like the way it is. The character is really clear, the bg texture and sand effect works great and fit the theme.

I'm getting tired to see every wall fill out its every corner, Come'n I know it's a design but first it's a wallpaper. leaving out some space for you icons is nothing wrong. XD

"1.AP only accepts wall that has resolution higher than 1024x768

2.the black outline is blured

3.you don't really need paste the real ipod there, it looks wried. Just draw some squares and circle to make it, it will look much better and stylish.

Also, There are a lots of nice tutorials online for making this kind of Ipod ad style. Check it out, maybe helpful.

However only taking a snap shot and add some text may make it very hard to pass the approval. I saw other people taking snap shot and but they also did the clean up so they get passed.

but Makoto Shinkai's flewless and high quality work may really don't need any more clean up, brush, filter or other effect, any snap shot of his film could be a wall and get a A.
