We are not responsible for the connection quality of the users. If a user is having a bad connection day maybe due to peak traffic, then we can only suggest downloading from a different location which might have a better connection or hold off downloading till a later time when the connection is better/stable/less congested."

"That is because a portion of the link is a randomly generated code which I believe is assigned to a particular username at the point of clicking the re-download link. It's to prevent a person from copying the link and posting it in some other boards where other people can download while bypassing our other control measures. When you changed the page, it is probable that the random code made invalid and a new random code needs to be re-assigned.If you had provided proper comments, you won't need to comment your butt off to reach the required amount of papers to download that scan."

"No problems encountered with image. I had no issues loading the scan in fullsize.Most likely the connection between your PC and the AP server was a bit problematic at that point of time.
One way to download is to copy the "If it doesn't load button" link and paste it in a download manager. It works (as long as you did not log off when downloading). And I think the download's resumable as well if your download disconnects."

"There are many others who do not submit wallpapers or scans nor are they donators but yet still able to download wallpapers without any problems. There is nothing unbelievable about that. Only participation will suffice. We are not a leech site where people can just download anything at will without doing anything. If that ever happens, the site's upkeep cost would skyrocket and the result would force AP to shut down.
Then ask your boyfriend to post his wallpaper in the Session Zero and let the wallpaper speak for itself.
Everyone starts out at Session Zero or some other place similar to it at one point in their life. I started out in a different forum 7 years back that does not have a Gallery and we just posted our wallpapers in forum threads just like how the Session Zero subforum is right now.
Simple short liner comments won't give much papers. It separates the real commentors from spammers. Posting in certain subforums which are non-discussion in nature doesn't give papers. But then, downloading wallpapers do not need papers.
You only need a discerning eye to be able to comment. Noticing composition flaws, image quality issues, extraction weaknesses ain't rocket science and you definitely don't need to be a waller to be able to comment in a critical manner. Just spend a bit more time scrutinizing a wallpaper and you can sure catch it. And try practicing on detecting such elements through commenting in the Session Zero. Furthermore, it helps train yourself (your boyfriend's actually) in being able to identify weaknesses in your own wallpapers (your boyfriend's actually). I started out by only commenting and trying to evaluate wallpapers in a critical manner before moving to walling. And back then, my wallpapers are as bad as anyone who has just started out if you look below. A pro digital artist I am not back then, and neither am I one right now. Didn't stopped me from giving all sorts of suggestions or critical comments though.

"Chibimisao, you should browse the anime VCD section in places like Speedy videos or Popular bookstores. If you are lucky enough, you can find a Lucky Star VCD box cover with my below wallpaper. That box came out last year, so I'm not sure if it is still sitting in the VCD racks or not. XDAnd then there was the GitS VCD box many years back.
Got quite a good chuckle out of seeing wallpapers being made into VCD box covers."

"Based on the wallpaper shown, it is the background composition that is the main factor that resulted in the rejection.When evaluating, mods will scrutinize in the below order.
Step 01. Sig and description
Step 02. Wallpaper quality
If the wallpaper fails the first criteria, we are not going to look into the second criteria because there is no point in doing so. The reason is because if a wallpaper is a rip, pointing out wallpaper quality issues is redundant as the ripper did not made the wallpaper in the first place.
That means a submitted wallpaper can be rejected twice in a row even if it rectifies the first criteria issue but fails the second. That is why we always encourage new wallers or those who still new to the walling experience to post in the Session Zero first. Anyone who tried jumping directly into the Gallery and got burned for it have only themselves to blame if it does not meet the submission standards."

Different sites have their own rules and systems. AP employs a download limiter system as a preventive measure for uncontrolled bandwidth leeching. Your downloads are paid for by the money that is forked out by Bantam and those generous enough to donate, of which the money goes to paying for the site's upkeep and servers. You are expected to already know about this prior to signing up since it's already in the AP Guide which you could have peruse before clicking the REGISTER button or at least learn about it soonafter. Signing up means you have agreed to abide by rules and regulations that govern the site. If it's not to your liking, then just stop coming and move on.
If you want to download without needing to lift a finger, then you are better off visiting the wallers' websites or sifting through imageboards.
Since AP is not your kind of place, there's nothing more to discuss.

You can browse the gallery for examples.Manga panel scans on the other hand, we will not accept as the images are mostly below the 1175 usable image height, obstructed by text balloons (rendering the images not usable for walling purposes), of poor quality (after inflating them to large sizes) or a combination of what I have mentioned."

We won't be diversifying out of that in the indefinite future.We already had requests for galleries catering to sigs/avatars, iphone wallpapers, PSP wallpapers, etc over the years (can't recall if there was a winamp skin requests back then since it has been years since AP's creation). Our stance has remained the same up till now and will continue to be so in the future."
