"Vector categories are redundant. You'd end up with duplicate categories (Angelic Layer Vector, Angelic Layer Scan, ARIA Vector, ARIA Scan, etc).Or dumping all vectors into one single category, you'd end up having to search through many pages just to get the vector of a series that you want. Tags? As you said, not everyone takes time to tag their scans. And we do not allow tagging using the series' names (unless the character name is the series' title such as Solty Rei or Akira).
Categories are created based on the name of the series/game/artist. Anything else that do not qualify under this criteria such as Vector category, X'mas category or Winter Season category will not be considered since they are not good ideas. They are ideas which increases redundancy in the Gallery."

Funimation Announces 'New Show A-Go-Go' Starting Monday

"Yeah, weird name and weird way to announce a release. But anyway, here's the catch. Funimation is going to announce one new license per day, beginning 22 December 2008 and ending at 31 December 2008. However, they have placed clues all over the place, which comes in the form of memo notes. So far other sites like ANN and AODVD have picked up some of the clues and made some guess work on what series Funimation is going to announce.THE CLUES (thanks to AODVD for the effort)

VIEWS/OPINIONS
This is just opinions based on guesswork made by others so far. And I'm not that crazy about following release gimmicks enough to actually take the time to decipher clues strewn around. Usually I'd just wait for the official license list to be released.
I'm a bit disappointed that the clues at present doesn't point to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai. After having rescued Higurashi no Naku Koro ni from Geneon, I'm hoping that they pick up on the second season. I'm close to completing the first season (currently waiting for next month to buy vol.6 of Higurashi since I have already made purchases this month) and would like to have the second season on DVD (would suck if I have 1 season on DVD and and another on fansub).
Also want Kyou Kara Maoh season 3 and the OVA to be licensed but the clues don't point to that either. Sigh...
Evangelion Rebuild? Awesomeness!!! This is one series which I feel is worth paying a premium for, assuming that the remaining Rebuilds don't get botched up by the producers.
Would be nice if Spice and Wolf made it onto the DVD replicator. This has got to be one of the most amazing shows of 2008. And then there's a second season in the works I heard. If it's Soul Eater, I'd be disappointed.
Don't really care about Vandread since I have watched it too many times. Didn't watched School Rumble 1 and 2, so don't care about 3. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei...not sure if I want to rejoice or not, since the rewatch value just doesn't seem to be there.
Last Exile, already have it. X? Got that as well. xxxHOLiC? Isn't that already a Funi title? Or are they refering to xxxHOLiC Kei? Ikkitousen...bleh. Good on fansubs, but not something I'd spend my money on to get the DVD. No interest in items [06], [07] and [08], so no comment. Hmm..."Hey, Ed, Rocket". Could it be Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala? (Edward Elric + Rocket experiment?)
I don't know about bundling Geneon title rescues in the release since they aren't really "new". It'd disappoint a lot of fans looking forward to actual new series being licensed. It would be better if the rescued titles were released separately but I guess the average anime DVD purchaser can only spend so much between new titles and completing existing titles which were left in limbo state when the Geneon-ADV talk fell out."

"I live near the equator where there's no snow but then, accidents does not discriminate. Be it slippery roads due to wet surfaces or snow-covered surfaces, it is always prudent to be on the safe side. Here in hot and humid climate countries, tires with good wet traction is equally important as snow tires in snowing countries since wet surfaces can also result in skiddings. Furthermore, when you hit deeper pockets of water (due to uneven road surfaces), your car can also get pushed aside due to resistance from water which was not channeled away out of the tire footprint.That's my two cents on the issue of personal safety (and also that of passengers) on a common platform. For the more specific snow-related issues like legalization and personal experiences, I leave that to those who have first-hand experience."

However, I'd speculate that this is a clientside problem. As at todate, no other members have encountered such problems. The only case almost identical to your's is that the browser saves the images in bitmap format but that is usually resolved by clearing the browser's cache."

I noticed you also uploaded a 1280x800 resolution version and that is the only version that was able to be viewed.
Considering the anomalous circumstances, I'd suggest uploading in 1 resolution first and then when approved, only upload the other version using the EDIT function. This is under the scenario that the image quality has been improved significantly."

Really cool place with cool personalities like Fey, Phong, Caz-chan, Misao, etc.Kinda miss the nostalgia of anime wallpaper forums of old. No galleries, just forum boards. I still remember having to hunt high and low on the net for scans (being picky is a luxury for those who have scanners. XD). I suggest using imageshack for image hosting as it allows hotlinking.
Wow...the nostalgia. Has been ages since I last encountered drag-and-drop links to bypass the hotlinking issue. Back then (7 years ago), everyone was using tripod.com and it didn't allowed hotlinking. Only way was to drag and drop the link onto another window in order to view the wallpapers."

"Browsing through the books is fine as it is a consumer's right to evaluate an item before making a purchase decision. A consumer will only browse what is needed to satisfy his decision criteria and that's the end of story. So we can leave it as that.As for individuals who walk into the bookstore to read a title in its entirety (first volume till the last) and then walk off (same applies to those who pops up at the bookstore whenever a new volume is released into the market and then never to show up again until the next volume release without paying a single cent), a bookstore is in the business of selling books. It is not ethically right to waltz in, get a free read and waltz out, only to wait for the next volume to hit the shelves. There are many other alternatives to buying manga, such as libraries (if there is one that has manga in their selection) or borrow from a friend. And there's always the scanlation option.
On the issue of not being able to afford the price of manga. Based on observation in my country, the demographic of manga readers are mostly teenagers. This demographic group are already getting allowances from their parents either monthly or weekly. The money that they are spending while hanging out must definitely come from somewhere.
From what I can see, the price of manga isn't too expensive. Based on what is printed on the back of the manga cover, a Claymore volume costs US$7.99 while a single xxxHOLiC or Tsubasa Chronicles volume costs US$10.95 (hey, it's a Del Rey). Furthermore, it can be a few months before a new volume is released (time gap between release of Tsubasa Chronicles volume 20 and 21 is 3 months), that leaves more than enough time to save up enough money to buy a single new volume when released, provided that you budget your allowance expenditure nicely.
Let's use the price of Tsubasa Chronicles of US$10.95 per volume and assuming that the target is to save up enough cash to buy a volume within a 4-week month. This is ignoring any possible markups related to overhead costs and taxes on purchase.
Setting aside US$0.40 or US$0.55 per day isn't hard. If a teen sacrifices his/her social outings (a.k.a. hanging out) with friends, that person would be able to reach the US$10.95 target even faster due to cash savings that would normally go to paying for public transport or food and beverage (e.g. McDonald's or Starbucks). Forgoing the purchase of an upcoming new PS3 or XBox game would translate into several manga volumes.
It's all about financial decisions and sacrifices. If an individual can only afford 1 manga title, then stick to that manga title. If he or she can afford 2, then stick to 2 manga titles. My own budgeted manga expense is only 3 titles (xxxHOLiC, Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles and Claymore). Whenever I pop into Borders, my target would only be those three titles (I always make sure that there are new volumes released for those three titles so that I can purchase them at one go to save on traveling costs). I pretty much ignore the other manga titles since I know I have not budgeted any cash for buying them, hence I have no intention of being involved with it. So that now leaves us with the problem of individuals who try to get into every single manga that they can get their hands on, more than what they potentially are able to afford.
I didn't started buying manga until I was in my second year of university (bought those cheap localized ones which were printed on cheap quality newsprint which are licensed for local translation). And I only moved to imported US translations (TRC and xxxHOLiC by Del Rey) after I switched to my second job which pays me a much better salary than my first. Claymore (by Viz) was only added recently to my collection after I received an increment to my paycheck last year."

Go through the scans page by page. Moderators have to check every single scan in the gallery against what was submitted by the members. And the amount of scans and checking that we need to do is far more than what you have to go through."

"MPH Pyramid is a relatively small branch. No mangas there.Haven't been to Kinokuniya for several years. But I do use their online shopping facility. I sometimes order my manga online and for a small delivery charge, I can have the mangas delivered to my office within 1 or 2 days (depending on what time I place my order). Quite convenient."

"JUSTIFY, you need to start cultivating the habit of reading thoroughly and understanding the whole gist of the topic. This thread is not about why more people are into mangas but more about people taking advantage of getting a free read without buying it at all.Haven't been to MidValley's MPH bookstore in a very long time. Did dropped by the Sunway Pyramid branch from time to time since I live only around 20 minutes drive from Pyramid and I usually watch movies at TGV Pyramid. I mostly go to Borders at Times Square since each quarter of the year, i.e. every 3 months, I make a trip to the Lowyat/Bukit Bintang area. So I usually drop by Borders there as well as I get off the monorail at Imbi station, right in front of Times Square. I did go to the Borders outlet at The Curve once though during 1 May 2008 when I joined my friends to watch Ironman.
The Times Square outlet have relocated their manga section to a different area, so the aisles are more spacious now."

Extraction needs major improvement. The outlines are inconsistent as you can see the outlines being eaten up in various areas.
Character image
Character should be positioned higher without having part of his lower torso being truncated by the canvas boundary. Use of shadows give impression of a solid floor to support his sitting position.
Background
More creative use of text is required with varying hues and opacity would be a better approach. Solid shape motifs might also be a good replacement for the broken lines."
