"You can't really blame Apple as the ipod was the device that sparked the flame in the MP3 player market to what it came to be today. Before the ipod the digital audio player market, mainly the MP3 players were underground. Not much marketing and advertising, majority average people did not know what a MP3 player was. I would give props to Apple since they brought the MP3 player market into the upper mainstream.Though, the ipod is an excellent product and likely the cleanest designed as in appearance; But that is not my focus here. There are a lot of other players out there with better sound quality, durability, battery life, value for the price, etc. (Sony, Samsung, Creative, etc.)
People chose the ipod because it is the "thing" to have and in their mindset precieve it as being "cool" to have one and using the white ipod earphones. Also think that the ipod is the only MP3/media player out there on the market. This is because Apple keeps on marketing it, though the product has not really gotten that better of the improvement."

Anyone know decent AGP vid cards

"Try the GeForce 7600 GS, I got that running in one of my older computers.Works like a charm, Very quick performance (framerate in game) and reliable.
Not to mention AGP card now don't cost a fortune, very inexpensive price.
Looked online to see how much my card was and its $50 dollars cheaper, compared to a couple months earlier when I brought it."

They made the iTunes Plus because people wanted higher quality file (compared to 128k AAC, now "upgraded" is 256K AAC) and plus to not have the file restricted to play only on certain devices."View

Who hates iPods?

"Hmm...I don't think the iPod "sucks" but rather its the majority of the people or the crowd that owns them is what you can say sucks. The iPod sure is a status and lifestyle symbol rather then having more functional features. But the iPod is a great device is just people have been brainwashed that it is the only digital audio player out there on the market. Plus they think they are superior and better than anyone else once they get one. I myself ironicly do own 3 iPod's (4th gen 20gb, original ipod mini, and video ipod) but that does not make me any better then another person, its just an electronic device that stores my music files and plays them, but to others they are a status symbol.
About the prices on the iPod, I do agree they are somewhat overpriced but since it is Apple computer brand people are bound to buy it regardless of how much it is.
I am just bringing this up since it relates to this,
Bose is also simlar as the way they market things. People who buy a Bose speaker or something also think they are superior to all. (I am only talking about the crowd you know that is simlar to the iPod crowd where when you buy it just for the name and status you are "cool".) Also majority of Bose products are overpriced but they sell anyways because of the marketing."
