Shotokan vs. Kyokugen-ryuu

"Not only does Ryo lack range, he lacks impact. Ryu is an overall better fighter. In the KOF series, Ryo was never one of the best. I believe Choi was top tier in the KOF series. Yes, Choi could rape Ryo in the ass easily.

Ryo's moves has very bad startup animation, especially the (f, b, f, punch) one. Take a look at that flying kick move he's got. I'm not too sure about his dragon uppercut, but Ryu's has a good number of invincibility frames.
Ryu is an overall good fighter because of all of his moves. By nature, he has little startup and little lag, with the exception of his shoryuken. His fierce punch has always been really good. He has links that do lots of damage.

Another thing to notice is that Ryo does not have, at least to my knowledge, rapid fire attacks. His jabs and shorts do not link into another, which means he's quite slow. Ryu on the other hand has these things. Whether these are traits of their respective martial art or just gaming flaws, one thing's for sure. Ryu WILL kick Ryo's ass anyday."

Tekken vs. Street Fighter

"If you compare the amount of damage each game calculates, Tekken delivers more. On that standpoint, Tekken will win. One combo into a juggle will turn into 50-75% life off.

On pure mechanics, Street Fighter will win. Street Fighter characters can jump higher and they can buffer normals into specials. Street Fighters also have supers whereas Tekken only has unblockables. Tekken does have an advantage of side stepping and while rising attacks, but Street Fighter has cross overs.
Tekken characters do have projectiles. Look at True Ogre, Devil, and Yoshimitsu. Yoshitmistu has a sword!"

Shin Gouki will win. He has higher priority, even though his vitality is crap.
Ryu will win without a doubt. Ryo has bad range.
Ken will win. Nuff said.
Sakura will win because of her standing roundhouse kick. Yuri is good but she doesn't have as much strength as Sakura.


Of course, SvC could change all of this. Dan is actually a mid-boss in the bloddy game."

"The story of Hikaru is somewhat like Josh's. Josh played Go for only 2 years and he's already a sho-dan, I believe. It's mind boggling how fast he improves. But then again, this is all he does.

Go is hard. They say it's easy to learn, but I have difficulty understanding everything. I was never a board games type of person. I only barely understand the concept of eyes in Go. I wonder if that was covered in Hikaru no Go."

I'm more into the Asian underground scene, which would make sense since I'm a long time member of Aznraps. And no, I don't like Jin. I'm better than he is at writing songs.

TenTen is done by different animation studios. I think in episode 5, it was done by Koreans, but in episode 6, by Japanese. I think most anime follow the same trend.

By the way, ever notice that Bob never gets an introduction in the opening animation?
I remember reading this idiotic article written by these three Asian women telling how dating black guys are better... for all the stereotypical reasons.
An example: they have the rugged, dangerous feel to them.

For some reason, I like this phrase a lot. It sounds so damn cute.

From GTO episode 20-something where Onizuka thinks he has some cancer or something and then realizes it was those metal things on his back. The female teacher smacks him. He makes this ... yell. "YEEEEEEE!"
Funny as anything.

That one episode in Da Capo where Asakura confronts those kids that were bullying the cat-girl. "I only watched up to episode 4. I think that it's going just fine and it's closely following the manga as much as possible. Aya's voice is just... I don't know the word. Perhaps she sounds like a gyaru, if you guys know what that is. I liked seeing the action sequences in animation. Most of it was detailed and fluid. Gotta love that. Let's just hope that this type quality will stay the same throughout the series. However, I have heard that in episode 5, they used a lot of still shots and action lines and all that jazz. Bleh. If I wanted those, I would read up.

If things are going the way they are, I think that the next 3-4 episodes will be spent in flashback mode. Those reading the manga will know exactly what I'm talking about. However, I don't know just how much they will change things around to fit the time schedule. In fact, the manga isn't even over!

Masataka... I pity him. He's apparently the cliche butt-of-jokes guy. He never gets laid, nor does he ever get a girl. This really pisses me off. What the hell are you thinking Oh Great? Comedy relief, blah.

Emi is hot. Maya is hot. Shit, all of them are hot."

Otaku means house. In America, it's not supposed to carry any sort of negative connotation. It has been my understanding that the word 'otaku' is just a description for anybody that regards anime as their hobby. Just the same with the words 'stamp collector' or 'skater' or 'florist'. Just because it does indeed carry a bad stench in Japan, does it really mean that it ought to be the same in America, or anywhere else for that matter? As for those extremists, there's extremists in everything. They always get the spotlight. Just like the Taliban. They don't represent Muslims as a whole, now do they? In fact, Muslims don't even like the Taliban. Whether regular otaku like or dislike the extremists, I don't know. I can only say that I don't like them at all for they take the eyes of the public and as a result, misrepresent otaku as a whole."

"I just finished reading <u>The Da Vinci Code</u> by Dan Brown and I must say that this book is fucking genius! The intricacy of the puzzles, the genius of the plot, and the nice plot twists are all so nice and I just cannot grasp the beginning of Brown's thought process. I highly recommend this book, and I hardly ever read books."

"Often times, people judge otaku based not on their hobby but their behaviors. Why is it that many people are quick to say that someone is acting strangely rather than point at their relative hobby? It's because hobbies are usually well hidden from many people. Unless they are doing something blatantly related to their hobby, not too many people will know. I have a slight obsession over linguistics but people don't normally see this in me until they get me started on basic issues in Asian linguistics.

My stance on this whole "otaku" thing is that it is fine to be an otaku. It's just like any enthusiast of any other hobby. However, there are those fanatics that take it to an entirely new level. You have hobbyists and you have extremists. Extremists always get the spotlight.

"I'm really liking this anime. One of the things that makes it good is that Yuzu actually sounds like a child, but that's to be expected since a 10 year old seiyuu is doing the voice. It's cute. Yuzu has to be the epitome of the phrase "innocence of children".
I like how the story progresses even if it somewhat slow. A lot of the characters on there are more or less life-like, and that could be for better or worse. Depends really.
