This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

The Death Penalty

Just like assisted suicide which is now LEGAL.

It is? AWESOME! ^^

Eh pertaining to this thread... The difference between a murderer killing someone and a collective society killing someone is very different.. Plus they get like 13 years to think about it, wasting tax money in the process due to the long wait. The systen is SLOW in my opinion...

To get to deathrow you have to do something inhuman. No matter how gruesome their slayings were, they get to die a peaceful death(current times), unlike their victims. I believe getting locked up for life is even worse than the death penalty.

Criminals change overtime and during that time, they go through emotional struggles. That's why some of them try to commit suicide. They have to live with the guilt and they always have to watch their backs because every day is just a day waiting for death. Look at Tookie Williams, this guy founded the notorious Crypt gang. Did he deserve to be executed even though he wrote books to keep kids away from gangs & violence?

The waiting game is just plain ridiculous, it's only there to make the government look humane. If they executed everyone on deathrow in 1-6 months we would look like Iraq."

Human Nature

"Human nature? In other words Sin. People are different, that's why we have peace & violence. Everyone has a control but not everyone has their individual discipline. Humans do horrible things but you have to look at what drives that person to do those sort of things."

The Death Penalty

2 years 7 months ago

"The death penalty has been here since the age of mankind, thus, it is here to stay. The only people that worry about such things are the criminals of the future. If you obey the law, then why care? America's death penalty is the kindest of all nations. A quick painless lethal injection. Just like assisted suicide which is now LEGAL."

3D CG in anime

2 years 10 months ago

" IMO, CG in anime doesn't distract my viewing unless it looks like Reboot. The CG style I prefer would be that of Last Exile. The technology in Last Exile wasn't available before 2003, which uses high-end toon-shading which blends 2D and 3D animation seemlessly.

CG really looks great on mechs, vehicles, and water. Everything else I prefer in 2D.

What's the best torrent downloader?

2 years 10 months ago

"
What's the best torrent downloader? I am using Azureus right now but its not cutting cuz it keeps screwing up and stuff. So what is the best torrent program to use that is pretty fast?

The only torrent's I've tried are Bit Torrent, ABC, Azereus, Bit Comet, and Bit Tornado. Here's a breakdown from my personal experience.

Bit Torrent - Nothing's customizable, so therefore your upload & download speed will depend purely on your broadband connection.

ABC - Unstable. This is the worst torrent that I've tried.

Azereus - Too many features for my liking.

Bit Comet - Looks like a P2P program but I didn't have the time to properly adjust the settings. Default settings are unsatisfactory though.

Bit Tornado - I've been using this for 8 months now and I've been getting 90K speeds consistently. I can download an entire Bleach episode in 30 minutes or less and my DSL isn't that great.

I've heard many good things about Bit Lord, but for now, I'll stick to Bit Tornado. The only downside to Bit Tornado is that you have to make sure you know how to tweak your Firewall settings or else you'll be stuck with a yellow status light.

Buying Anime

2 years 10 months ago

"
How much do you spend on anime? How often do you buy anime? Do you illegaly download without ever buying the anime when released? How do you buy anime? (e.g. Retail stores, online, eBay, ect.) Do you think it's too expensive? Are you rich or poor? Discuss.

Personally, it depends on the anime. If the anime is collaborated into a tv series I usually wait until a complete boxed set or thinpak releases. I also Download anime and use it to several advantages as well. I usually download an anime if it isn't licensed or is waiting for release in North America. Shows like Hunter X Hunter, Monster, Rozen Maiden, and Bleach I download because they're surrounded by positive hype and aren't licensed yet.

I also download already licensed anime just to see if it's worth my money because this saves me a lot of money from either renting or purchasing. For instance, I downloaded the entire Last Exile series, watched it, then purchased the thinpak collection for $74 at deepdiscountdvd, and finally deleted the series on my desktop. While other shows like Mirage of Blaze I'm glad I downloaded and never purchased because it was mediocre and therefore deleted.

In essence, I download anime to help me with my purchasing decisions and to watch shows that are either never coming to North America or are upcoming releases. I usually buy my anime online at deepdiscountdvd and overstock because they always have affordable prices for a person with little cash like me. I don't download often so when it comes to an anime I don't know about or aren't sure about, I usually buy on instinct, reviews/opinions, hype, and price.
