This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

"Lately with my walls I have been using a very heavy brush take, really throwing in quite a bit. With this wall, I wanted something simple, something soft. I found this scan by Huguri in the Full Metal Panic! scans, and decided it was just the right image. To give it a bit more interest, I threw in a light texture. I've been doing a lot of textures lately. But anyway, Here are both walls. A little bit later I will submit the widescreen wall to the Session Zero gallery to get some comments and suggestions there, unless I get a good bit of feedback. I don't know if I really want to change anything though, the wall feels right. But you never know, I am always open for suggestions!Full Screen:

"This is my first widescreen wall, and I saw this vector while surfing the site and thought it would be nice to make into a wall. I submitted it to Session Zero (the gallery style one) and received no feedback after most of a day, so I submitted it. It was placed back in the Session Zero gallery by admin, and since then has gotten a few comments, but nothing really to help me out on changing the wall. Please help me out on this one, I can't really think of anything else to do with the piece. As mentioned, it features a vector of Aoi Nanase's character designs, vector by Xyrick. I added a lot of texture and a bit of a funky color scheme to make the character pop. She is also featured in a larger duotoned version with the soft shadowing effect. The full colored version has a thick textured shadow behind her, once again for the reason of making her pop out of the heavily textured format. The idea was kind of a construction paper-like over laying with the layers, making it look a little bit collage-eske (i made a new word!)
anywhoo, here is a resized image shack link:
and here is the Session Zero Gallery Link (for comments there or a view at the full sized version):
