"Hi DragonFlykm. Love the avatar! You're right, making wallpapers is a lot of fun and I think you learn something new every time you work on one. At least I know I do. Ideas on getting started...well I usually see a scan or a screen cap that inspires me and gives me an idea about what to put in the background. Sometimes this idea doesn't work out but the wallpaper just grows around whatever I already have. Okay I know that's a little vague, but a good place to start is with a character/series/image you like. Feel free to PM me or give me a user comment if you'd like to chat more.

"I agree with the post above me. I don't really see Gin getting out alive. I think he will stay on the Aizen's side and probably die by Matsumoto's or (maybe) Hitsugaya's hand. That is of course if Aizen's side doesn't win. If he defects (again) to the good side he'll probably be killed by Aizen or maybe Tousen, but that's unlikely."

"Ignoring the existance of that filler, I enjoy Bleach. It's not my absolute favourite, but I enjoy it. The humour is great and sometimes I forget how funny it can be, when I haven't watched in a while. I especially liked the plot twist concerning the villain and he is one of my favourite characters. I am more up to date with the manga and right now it's a little slow, butI'm hoping it picks up again soon."

"I'm not a fan of most of the newer series around; Heroes etc. and I never liked reality shows. Most of the time I drop a series before it ends. At one time I was watching all the CSI's but I just got too busy and they got too repeatative. The series I watch constantly now are re-runs of old ones. American cartoons have also lost it a bit in my opinion, but the anime that's showing in my country is still acceptable."

XD I have a few friends who have gotten into anime because of me, and my brother, sister and cousins all like it. If anyone wants to know about it I'll tell them, but I won't engage people who think everything about anime is bad and are closed minded about it. "

"I think CrimsonCyanide made a very good comparison with the spice. I find it annoying when every second word in someone's vocabulary is a swear word. There are more interesting adjectives out there and sometimes all the swear words make the sentence incomprehensible. The fact that swearing rubs off on you also makes me not want to be around people who swear so often. "

I realize I didn’t really give much info about myself in the opening post, so I thought I should add a bit here.

I live in South Africa and I’m studying biochemistry. I am currently writing exams which is awful, but I have a nice long holiday to look forward too after that.

I usually borrow anime from friends and my cousins, but I also buy when I can and we have a 24 hour anime channel Animax, which is brilliant. A few of my favourite anime is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Bleach, Last Exile, Gundam SEED and Witch Hunter Robin, among others. I am reading the Monster manga, which I am also looking to finish after my exams.

I am also looking forward to getting back to making some wallpapers in the holidays.

Do you think long distance relationships can work?

"Two of my friends survived a long distance relationship when he went over sees for 9 months. Obviously they knew he was coming back so that is a factor. I'm sorry that things are difficult for you now and I don't really have much experience with long distance relationships. Is it possible to see him any time soon? Maybe talking face to face will help you address what's bothering you. Otherwise you can try and confront him over the net if you want, but that's always a bit risky since you can't carry across things like tone and body language. Try not to seem needy though, guys get put off by that kind of thing pretty fast. Good luck, I really hope you can get things sorted out."

how long can you go without your anime fix

"I can probably go for a few months without watching a specific series, but I'd probably be catching one of two re-run episodes of anime I've already seen on TV. One I break an anime fast though, I have to make sure I have a lot of time since I then usually end up doing a marathon or two, which is bad if I have school work to attend to."

"I think you should try and match the background to the characters better, like using some of the colour on the characters for the background or something. I'm not sure the yellow is such a good choice.

Has anime changed your perspective?

"I think watching anime and hearing other people’s opinions of it in general is what impacts me the most, rather than the content of a specific show. When I started to get into anime, a lot of the people around me were very negative about it, didn't support me and some downright believe anime is "evil". This kind of thing has encouraged me to be more supportive of others who have hobbies and interests that I may not understand. And to be more open-minded and give things a try myself before I write it off as stupid or a waste of time.
