Everlasting... Can you take it?

"Well actually i think the aspect of immortality is pretty intresting. To a certain extent of course. i couldnt take never dieing or living for 1 million years. Living for 500 years however sounds allot better to me. Negate the fact that you get really old after 100 of course :p.
You have a bright side and a darkside to this immortality of course
The dark side. It would be really painfull to lose many friends lovers and not having parents for a big number of years. Towards the end of your life friends would probably become irrelevant to you. You would probably not want to expierience the pain that you have been feeling for the past 400 years and prefer to do without. that would become rather lonely pretty quickly though. After that of course you have the issue of bordom. What could you possibly do with 500 years? I am sure a number of problems would occur however and bordom might not become such a big issue.
On the bright side being able to study the growth and death of many generations seems rather intresting, being able to study the link between Great Great Grandfather and Great Great Granddaughter would be rather cool. The rise and fall of empires, the wars of the world and of course the fashion and intrests of the youth and the like.
This only counts if i am the only one immortal though, otherwise it's not really immoratlity if everyone lives longer."

Premature Marriage

"I am starting this topic for a reason. Today i had heard that my old best friend was engaged. Her age? Just turned 16. Her boyfriend is 18. This is obviously very shocking new's for me and my friends. Since she has moved i have no idea what her friends in china have to say about this (she isn’t Chinese) but i'm almost shocked that they wouldnt try and stop her. I would share the whole story but i dont want this topic to be about how stupid she is to get married this early. Instead i would like to discuss if there is an age where it is just to early to marry.
I do realise that all cultures are different and in the 1800's marriages of this age in China was more common. We however are no longer in the 19th century and neither my friend nor her boyfriend is Chinese or has any Chinese influence. (I use China as an example because that is where she is currently residing. At the time Marriage at such a young age was probably common in many other countries as well)
When you have someone marrying at such a young age when can you tell them? Parents can get upset but will that really help? Probably not, getting angry at kids that age will make the problem worse. IF anything i would say the smartest thing to do is just wait and see how it turns out. Marriages like this only rarely work out and I guess you could say that mistakes only make you wiser.
What do you guy's think about this issue?
Is it as big as a problem as i seem to make out of it or am i exaggerating?
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?
Feel Free to talk about any aspect of marriage although i would prefer you to stick to marriage at a very young or a very old age.

PlayStation 3 vs Xbox 360 vs Nintendo Wii

"Like many others before me have already said, the ps3 is just waay to expensive. If you're looking for a cheap blue ray player and like consoles because of their graphics then well why not. their may be a few fun games coming out for the ps3 but from what i can see it's not worth spending so much on a console that only has a few upgrades from the ps2. I would agree that graphics are indeed important but it's not the end of the world if the graphics are mediocre. (of course i do have limits).
When i first heard of the ps3 and the wii then to be honest i wasnt really intrested in either of them. The ps3 sounded vaguely intresting and since i had a ps2 i knew the ps3 probably wouldnt be that bad. The only thing that made me wonder which console to buy was because of the rather large price of the ps3. On the other hand there was the Wii however. I had a friend who was completly mad about the Wii and would try to convince me that this was the better system. He would argue that the Wii was the cheapest console around and he told me about the motion sensor aswell. The price of the Wii kept me intrested but what threw me off was the motion controller. I figured well ok it's a great idea but.. motion sensor on a console... wtf that just wont work out. It would go all funky and would be to hard to control. That is how i thought in the begging though. From what i've heard it is way better then that.
The Wii doesnt require to much physical movement but enough to keep you entertained. It adds that extra depth to games which is in my opinion necesary. Not so much at the moment but you cant go on forever updating graphics, that will get old eventually. So the wii is cheap that's good, games are about 10 euro's cheaper that's good. The graphics, well they probably will only get just better then the ps2 which is a bit of a shame but it's not a life or death situation. The games well some of them are for kiddy gamers which is a shame in a way. That doesnt mean that there isnt going to be enough good games for the more expierienced gamer though. With games like COD3 Zelda SSB and the like it wont suck but it wont attract the really hardcore gamers.
If you like low costs and allot of fun then i would choose the wii. If your a really harcore gamer however, the ps3 or xbox360 is probably more for you. Either way if you have the money i would choose the Wii for your second system. It's cheap and new If they dont screw it up it will probably be worth it"

"Well apparenty most games for the wii dont require that much physical exercise at all. It will take you many hours of gameplay for the most unfit gamer to become tired. Depends on the game aswell of course. Most games can even be played sitting down. "

"Hmm personally i would think rats or mice or some other type of rodant. Reason being, they reproduce quickly and carry deadly deseases the combination of both will kill.

Because the internet is kinda fast and i can go on it for an unlimited amount of time i am indeed on it for an unlimited amount of time. In the social aspect that is. noone would have ever thought twice about seeing a naked person if that was all they ever saw in their real life. I mean then it would be normal, so who really cares. Of course is would be disturbing to see a 200kg women or man walking around naked but if we were used to it then it would be no diffrent from seeing a 200kg women or man walking around today.
However if people didnt have clothes then allot of places we live in today and allot of jobs we have today wouldnt exsist. Can you imagine living in norway with no clothes? i certainly wouldnt want to."

"Everyone seems to be saying how bad and inconvienient it is to have a girlfriend but how about we look at the good aspects of having a gf. Believe it or not there are indeed good things :p many of them will become clearer as you meet someone you really like aswell.
I will start off by posing the question How many of you watch anime's that have some kind of romantic theme or contains some kind of romance between characters that doesnt last for 10 minutes. Personally I do and as long as it isnt really cheesy or cliche then i enjoy it. Quite a bit to be honest. For those of you who enjoy it, think a second about why you like it. Since i cant explain it yourself i hope you will have come to a conclusion :p
Anyway there are many nice things about relationships. Your feelings in particular. If you have a crush on someone then everything about them escalates, they suddenly look better then he/she did when you didnt like them, their bad traits temporarily disapear and you get a very nice feeling when you look into their eyes, briefly touch eachother or interact in anyway. These feelings as far as i'm concerned cannot be felt behind a computer. Their warm skin, comforting eyes, soft lips, especially in the begging even small things like your leg brushing agaisnt their leg feels utterly fantastic. (ok that might be a little bit exagerated but you get the point :p)
The feelings you get when you touch arent the only good things though. Those feelings also come accompanied with the fact that you have someone that really cares about you. They are someone you can trust when all goes wrong and you have someone to come to you when they have problems. Having someone you hold dear coming to you for help gives you a good feeling aswell. You are now usefull to somebody.

It is true these good things also come accompanied with some bad but personally, i think i can live with that. If i find a girl (in my case) that is really special to me then i am willing to take the few minor disadvantages that come with the many advantages. Unfortunetly noone is perfect, so dont go looking for someone who resembles a character in an anime, because odds are, you'll never find one.

What series got you into anime?

"Let's see. The first anime i probably ever watched would be pokemon. I saw a number of diffrent ones when i was smaller aswell. Well parts of animes anyway. Dragonballz and Dragonball GT were my favorites at the time.

The first time i ever watched an anime and knew it was an anime (and my first anime in japanese) was when a friend told me that his friend had given him a DVD with something called anime. He said it was about some sexy robots with weird ears or something like that. So i was like ok what?!? Anyway he invited me over so i watched the first episode of Chobits. After i saw the first episode i was emmidiatly hooked. I took home the DVD and watched multiple episodes.
So you could say Chobits kind of started it for me. The real kick of though, was when i was looking for some small clips of ecchi. I then stumbled accross an anime named Green Green. It is an extremly perverted anime but it isnt quite hentai. That really kicked it off for me though. After green green i went looking for other kinds of animes and wallpapers etc."

There is a kid in our class, a friend of mine actually who is nice and i geuss resonably good looking. But because of that, if he is around all the girls allways flock around him, flirting with him ect. The problem then being you cant talk to any of the girls unless that guy is out of the room. They just dont notice you. You can have something much more intresting to say but they wont pay the slightest attention. If you say something they just, either werent listening in the first place or just kinda say yea, that sucks and then talk to the other guy.
The only oppurtunity you ever get to get to know the other girls is when he is not around, and that is not often and then you still have to get over the fact that they presume you are nowhere as good as the other guy so why bother talk to you
Or something along those lines :p Btw we are a reasonably small class so everyone knows eachother somewhat, it's not like we're complete strangers."

Your Ideal Planet

"If you would be able to create your own planet for you to live on what would it be like? Would you want to have a star wars style planet? Or would it be back to sticks and stones for you? After you thought about that, how about the people on your planet, would it be crowded? Nice people? or would your people be a warrior race which spends their time fighting itself and other planets? You can as creative as you want. If you want monsters on your planet instead of people, why not. A planet which looks like it was set in your favorite anime, sure.

Anyway My Ideal Planet would probably be a planet that is just a little bigger then earth, maybe 1 1/2 the size.
It would be primarily covered in water perhaps 85%. It would be covered in small islands all around the planet that are all connected by wooden bridges. Nothing to fancy, i dont need any metals or concrete on my planet. I want to do without all the cars and skyscrapers. My planet would be a very tropical one, these islands being the tropical islands you always see on TV’s. We dont have the problem of hurricanes, tidal waves, earthquakes or volcanoes. We have seasons but no major changes take place during them. These seasons are based on high tide and low tide. Unlike earth they do not occur on hourly basis but every 6 months.
The clothing would be rather primitive compared to what people are wearing today. That doesnt mean it isnt fashionable though and each peace of clothing carries an enormous amount of historical value. Symbols indicating your tribes history, your personality and the like. It's not as basic as leaves but much more like the native Americans wore. It would be a tad more decorative though.
My people would be very friendly but slightly reserved, not often opening up to others. When they do however an unbreakable bond occurs between the two and you will be able to count on that person if anything were to go wrong. Bullying occurs amongst the youngsters, but racial or tribal racism doesnt exist. The people in my Nation would be peace loving people never going to war and resorting to violence as your final option. Killing doesnt occur. They dont know the meaning of the word.
People would all live in tribes, each one being different in their own special way. Some tribes have the ability to telepathies others control the waters or animals. Others are strategists and others are advanced in the art of stealth and unseen movement.
Because my planet doesnt have any cars, planes boats or busses to transport people doesnt mean they dont have means of getting around. The animals of this world help with this. Gigantic furry flying dragons type monsters are like jet planes to them. Animals that seem to be an oversized version of a cross between a camel and a monkey are cars for them.
In this world celebrities dont exscist. Hero’s take their place. Internet is something of the past, they communicate by use of water.

What about yours? Dont be afraid of making it to long but make sure it is legible. Full stops and comma's are appareciated. Not that i can talk though since my grammer isnt extraordinary :p.

Taking Over the World

"Hmm what method would i use.. actually i probably just have to wait until global warming gets bad enough to kill many millions of people, cripple the worlds economy and well pronounce myself new leader of the world. I doubt it to be that easy to take over the world nowadays though. On your own anyway. A massive alliance might just work though. But then it's not really taking over the world is it. It's just eliminating a few countries and your still stuck with less countries but that are bigger in size.

If anyone could harnass the power of nature though, they would definatatly be able to rule the world. although unless your the chosen ruler of the world i'm not sure how much fun it would be. Constantaly watching your back from assasinations. OF course you would have to fix the worlds problems to. Hmm i'm just fine like i am i dont want any powers like that. Of course Anime powers like flight or the like would be fine :p but no ruling countries stuff for me."
